Band In A Box - www.pgmusic.com
Today, I’m demonstrating how Band in a Box - a music accompaniment software that’s been around for over 30 years - and Ace Studio, which generates realistic AI singers, can be used together, to create new music, vocals, harmonies, etc.
If you’ve been generating AI music and wondering about how to do things like:
a) Change the lyrics after the fact,
b) Change or add voices,
c) Create harmonies
then this video is for you!
We provide a detailed guide on generating music accompaniments, altering lyrics, adding harmonies, and changing vocals using these tools.
Starting with an introduction to each tool and their capabilities, we start with the new updated 2024 version of Band in a Box and explore its advanced features for music generation.
I’ll show you how to generate a song with Band in a Box, export the melody as a MIDI file, and then use Ace Studio to convert that MIDI melody to add professional AI vocals to the production.
Through a hands-on example, the presenter shows how to adjust lyrics, experiment with different voices, and enhance the song with harmonies (two different methods) and backing vocals, showcasing the creative possibilities and depth of control available with these AI music tools.

📔 ABOUT BOB DOYLE
We live in a freaking crazy time, don’t we?
Artificial Intelligence has exploded into the mainstream, and reactions are varied, to say the least. But for me? I’m all on board! As a creative, today’s technology allows me to take the skillsets I’ve acquired over a lifetime and use them like never before. Instead of feeling threatened by how rapidly seems to be taking of people’s jobs, I see the technology as a way to foster creativity in far more people than are currently tapping into their creative potential. I believe we are here as humans to create. And for me, it’s not an option. If I’m not creating something, I’m dying inside. So Bob Doyle Media is a showcase of my various outlets of creativity, and you’ll see that AI plays a big role in it. From virtual photoshoots and art and animation creation, all the way to voice cloning and face replacement… I play with all of it, and this is where I share it. If you’d like to work together, please reach out. I’d love to connect and talk about how I can contribute to your project.

Wow! Thanks so much for showing us this amazing tool. In the mix, the ACE Studio vocal harmonies sounded very realistic. As a songwriter, I will probably get a subscription to create harmonies for my original songs. As a lousy singer, I may even pay to get a model of my voice created so I see if ACE can create a lead vocal track that sounds like me singing, but better than me actually singing. Some people might say I should just work on getting better at singing, but I don't know how well that would work out. I may try in future, but meanwhile, I'll see if AI can help. I have been using Band in a Box for several years now (first for Windows, and now for Mac). I really like it, even if the interface is a bit ugly. To me, it is pretty much AI in its ability to take the chords and melody I create and generate a very convincing song arrangement. From there, I either use the arrangement as is or as a starting point, separating the stems and replacing some or all of them with my own tracks that use some of the amazing sample libraries I own. Great fun. I haven't tried the melodist feature that generates a melody, but you've inspired me now. Again, thanks. Peter.

Synthesizer V is similar to ace studio. It's a onetime purchase. 1 for software and 1for a voice bank. It doest use cloud rendering, making it a bit faster. You can also do the voice to Ai voice like in ace studio. I actually prefer it to ace studio. Just thought I'd share

@@codisilver Depends on the amateur. I mean people ARE doing it...AND it's getting accepted...for NOW...by SOME. This is why I did the earlier Band in a Box video because it can read the chord structure of the generated AI song and then you can recreate it with stylistic precision. I'll be doing an updated video on this soon to reflect the updates in band in a box.

I think it's important to remember how many countless hours must go into creating these tools. Not all developers have the luxury of unlimited funding to be able to offer their solutions. I'm sure if you'd put your blood, sweat, and tears into something, you'd want some form of compensation for your time if this is your career choice. It's GREAT that we have so many free options available right now. I LOVE open source solutions, and I always look for them. But at the end of the day, if the result I get from a tool make it's purchase a good investment, then I have ZERO problem paying for it. But if it's just going to sit on my hard drive for someday (like a LOT of software does on MY system)...then yeah. Why pay for it if you're not going to get the value from it? I appreciate that ACE at least gives you 2 weeks to determine if the value is there or not for your particular case.

Well, actually most of this video was about arranging and mixing (though I didn't bore the viewer with it, since I hardly know what I'm doing in that area). As far as composing, you can still absolutely do that with Band in a Box. If you know the chord progression of your song then you can create an amazing starting point, which then you can rework, or just take a seed of inspiration from. The point of these tools is NOT to take away the creative process, but to enhance/assist it.

BB has a ton of rock stuff, a ton! Of all genres. You should go check out the complete list of real styles over at their page. It’s 34 years of style creation. Thousands and thousands of styles and genres. www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.packages.ultrapak.htm#rtlist And as far as price, that's completely subjective depending on your needs. For some people, spending 22 a month rather than dealing with "real singers" in certain cases could be TOTALLY worth it. If it doesn't fit your use case, then it really doesn't matter how cheap it is if you won't use it. Same with Band in a Box. As a user of it for 34 years, I can assure you that what you get - if you use it and take the time to learn it - is many times what they're charging in value. But if you're not the target audience, again, it really doesn't matter because you won't get the value out of it anyway.

Again, it just depends on if you can benefit from its functionality or not. For some people, it's worth the learning curve. I'm sure there are tools or whatever that you've chosen to spend more time on than others would simply because you're more interested in it. Personally, if I want to be able to accomplish a task, and there IS a solution - and it's within my grasp - then most of the time, I'll take whatever time necessary to learn it. That goes with most of what I cover here on the channel, especially with the AI video, animation, and face-swapping. CRAZY amounts of time I've spent learning the ins and outs that most people would not. So it's just a personal thing. And overpriced, is also completely subjective based on the value you get out of it when you commit to learning what it can do. Not everyone will have the same passion/patience.

Yea you dont need the band box just download a midi chord pack or just learn the chords. Thatll prolly take the most time but will be most beneficial. I just stick with a midi pack abd its helped me to learn most of the chords as i go. Now i dont even need it. Also ive tried all of the other voice to midi and similar products but tbis is definitely one of the easier ones to get great sounding vocals quickly. The others you have to mess around with for hours sometimes and still not get anythinf working. The only program i would take over this is the dreamtonics synthesizer pro as well as there new vocoflex.

hope seriously the program have some kind of standard phonetics language to control, cause if not its its horrible. But beside the generation of the voices I have a hard time to see the AI in this program .. it really sound that way ... horrible. A sample based choir library with phonetical text builder sound better. I really can't see the use of this .. If you have to pay ~300$ to make your own voice and the time it takes building the lyrics and getting the pronouncation just "reasonable" I can hire a singer to come in and record the voice much faster at maybe a tad more money and then It's a real Voice .. not a Japanese Manga computer generated animation 😵‍💫😵.. . Sorry but this is not gonna make singers out of work anytime soon 😂

beside that .. BiaB is still today 35ish year later a piece of software that had seriously potential but never delivered. And for the money it cost you are honestly better off using your money on a hardware arranger. The "live" styles is not even close to be on par with Ketron which is also still being beaten by "midi" based arranger like Yamaha and Korg. There is no revolution here at all.

I don't think the goal is to put singers out of work. I do agree that the price for the voice model seems way out of whack, but unless I tried it with a real voice, it's hard to know exactly what it would sound like. But while I wouldn't say this stuff is "horrible", it's certainly not ready to produce lead vocals. But I do make a point of saying that it's better suited for backup vocals. Plus, all this is in its infancy. Rather than judge something as "horrible" at this stage in the game, I think it's better to just observe the progress that is being made, understanding that NONE of this is perfect yet, and folks need to understand that if they're going to play in this space at this point in time. As "horrible" as you say it is, it's still pretty miraculous that this can be done at all, and it will only get better.
