@Cherished Cat Lover because the ideal situation was where AI would allow us to create not replace us.
That sounds very promising, as a current student of computer animation, I had fears that AI would advance so quickly that it would be able to replace me before I even graduate. My instructors have the same optimism that we as artists will work alongside AI and produce our compositions much quicker. I'm going to have to depend on my creativity to do the real work, and though there will always be people that like AI-generated artwork, there's still an audience for the human element. I will choose quality over quantity any day, as you can burn yourself out very quickly.

The thing is, if everyone is outputting all their ideas all the time, and AI art and AI generated animation becomes indistinguishable from human created content. The value as a whole decreases. I dedicated a big part of my life to learning this craft as well, and I feel like when I animate, I'm putting on a performance and dancing for people. Yes you are very right. they waited till they were forced to switch till profits plummeted. They tried suing Napster and it was the biggest lawsuit of the era.
I'll give you a different angle that you didn't mention or maybe you sort of did when you compared the 2 channels. There are content farms that heavily rely on AI, that are sitting at the top of every niche. A lot of people (not all) rely on AI cause they're not confident enough in their creativity or they don't have time to be creative. They just need the quick money. It's a big problem for new talents(small creators). Why? cause AI doesn't come up with ideas on its own, you have to input something and then it elaborates or fulfills your request. Guess what some of those big channels with millions of subscribers do? Cause they have no time (or no talent?) They input smaller youtubers' content into AI and harvest what they need for their videos. They haven't killed KZread by using AI... yet, but they sure attempt to kill small organic creators' chances of breaking through, every day, with AI's help.(I have nothing against AI I think it's a good tool!) But these big guys kill 3 birds with one stone when they rip off small creators : #1- They get fresh new perspectives and ideas on things #2 They smother talent at the root because, by the time the audience of that niche discovers the new creator, all of their videos feel like Deja Vu # 3 They potentially eliminate their competition if after it happens repeatedly the small creator gets frustrated and decide to quit making content altogether.

I wish bands would release more demos and rehearsal songs on music streaming. Slayer did some of that on their soundtrack CD collection many years ago. But with streaming, I'd wish they'd go back and release all of their demos and other behind the scene audio recordings.
Great video. The Centaur analogy is brilliant and perfect for this case.
There should be absolute regulation by the government and punish those who generate AI Image of others or voice or else u don't have control over ur image or voice in the future😢.. future is dark for all of us
The Napster analogy is not relevant. That's distribution. This is creation. The issue with AI is that it's capability increases every minute.
I mean... one of the end results of the music industry "embracing" streaming meant even SMALLER cuts for artists... it's so bad at this point that they only thing they make any money off of is pushing products. They didn't get to "reap the rewards" because it meant the industry was more consolidated than ever and they try to gatekeep access to the larger streaming services. So I have my doubts that reducing their largest expense (having to pay PEOPLE) will somehow be better for those same people. Even in an industry WITHOUT those limitations, like game development with great tools you can use for free and platforms like Steam that handle the distribution for you, it only meant there is far more competition in the market... like 62% of people who sell games on Steam can't make enough to live off of, and finishing and shipping a game is so insanely difficult to accomplish that 90+% of the people who try will not get to that point. Think of how many more products there will be if it requires no actual skills you have to develop; that will drive down the price for consumers but there already isn't enough meat on the bone for the people who make the products. I mean... maybe at some point it will be a novelty to buy a song or game that was made by an actual person, and people would be willing to pay extra for that novelty. I'm just not hopeful, and I can't think of any skill I possess or can learn where it isn't an inevitability that I could be replaced by AI.

Yeah exactly. Will studios pay huge amounts of money to make TV shows etc. when AI can just make it for them? Netflix won't spend any money making TV shows, yet they'll make TV shows perfectly tailored to the preferences of each user, keeping them endlessly hooked. And anyone who found fulfilment making TV shows will lose out. It'll be the same for music and KZread videos too. Even if you have a great personality, you won't have as great a personality as AI, and you won't be able to match the endless stream of content AI can produce, perfectly tailored to your tastes. It's like a reverse effect. The more we see the greatness of AI, the more we'll be turned off by it and want human things to be done at human pace.

If someone is an Artist signed up to a label, then indeed, the Label can sue for the royalties - as the music and the voice belong to the record company! Record Companies have their own public relations, so if a song goes viral without the Consent of the Label, it most definitely infringes on the Rights of the Record Company and the Artist has no voice as to whether Consent was given, which can potentially impact their label’s objectives for the Artist. This is especially problematic is the Artist is signed to a Label as their Contract is binding and is managed by the Record Company.

I asked Chat GPT to write another 2 verses to Into My Arms by Nick Cave - it took 2 seconds... The following is a song by Nick Cave: I don't believe in an interventionist God But I know, darling, that you do But if I did I would kneel down and ask Him Not to intervene when it came to you Not to touch a hair on your head To leave you as you are And if He felt He had to direct you Then direct you into my arms Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms And I don't believe in the existence of angels But looking at you I wonder if that's true But if I did I would summon them together And ask them to watch over you To each burn a candle for you To make bright and clear your path And to walk, like Christ, in grace and love And guide you into my arms Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms Can you write another 2 verses? ChatGPT Sure! Here are two additional verses to continue the song: And I don't believe in the concept of fate But when I'm with you, it's hard to deny That the universe aligned our paths that day And brought us together, you and I So if there's a cosmic force at play I'd plead it to keep us intertwined To let our love grow stronger every day And forever in my arms, you'll find Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms And I don't believe in a predetermined plan Yet here we stand, side by side In this dance of life, hand in hand Our souls entwined, our love cannot hide So if there's a grand design above I'd beseech it to bless our sacred bond To protect us from the storms, like a dove And keep us safe, forever fond Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms
When it comes to content creation the only outcome in my opinion is for example allot of the scrip writing and editing will be done by ai, Then the human reads over it like they wrote it, thus keeping that “human element” that way the creator still showcases their personality while at the same time being able to push more content out in record timing… For music it will be User creates demo/track using artists voice Artist re records that song or completely uses the original vocals done by ai Artist releases song Artist performs song like normal And yes I plan on investing a fuck ton of cash into this process as, the music industry is very lucrative but late to reacting to innovation… creating the groundworks for a system to allow artists to make songs featuring their favourite artists and uploading it but giving the major artist a 60-40 split would do wonders, it would make more people blow up too… ether way you can try and do this, But my execution will be 1-1

AI is great for people who have no talent or skills. A computer can do all of the hard work for them. I will always respect real artists and creators who put in the energy to develop their craft way more.
