They swore to us that *this* was that "massive creativity" they rebooting the series for. That now Saints Row isn't about gangsters or hiphop or being cool and a city satire. Its literally just silly costumes, cats, waffles, nerds and larping. Unfucking believable. How a company doesn't know why they are marketing this m-rated game to, but tells the audience to their face that this game isn't for them and that they don't really know Saints Row like they do, and its this bullshit. Such trash that their lead writer left as soon as it flopped. But, we've been through a lot of dogshit plotlines and writing after SR2. This is just them breaking their record. Honestly outsourcing sequels to AI might in fact be better in the long run because they'll be better than people who don't actually care about the story at reproducing them.

worse is like, AI voices can be made natural sounding to the point of it being practically unnoticeable. Like ElevenLabs. Though, doing so requires someone to go in and actually *write words that a real person would say*, and not bullet points. because those are always gonna be read like a business presentation lmao. Absolutely zero effort was put here.

There's such a disconnect between the product, the developers, and the player. Disc drives on older consoles are going to become a big problem soon. Original Xbox DVD drives are falling like dominos and the 360 looks like it's going down the same path. Highly recommend to mod your console and backup your discs digitally to run them through the hard drive.

Along with just transferring what I can from my old Xbox to my new one, hopefully including my account as well. At least it served me well for 10 years. I didn't even know the E model existed for Xbox 360, but it worked for a long time. I got all trophies for Dark Souls 1 and 2 on it, so it served me well.

5:25 I bought this game with a friend for coop, cause yknow, saints rows coop was always fun and a big selling point. After we played for maybe 5 hours, we had countless disconnects and crashes, we just uninstalled it and never went back. Very excited to play the coop game I bought as a single player experience. "Quality of life" as I understand it is just making games less tedious. For example, if a game makes you sell things one at a time and then gets updated so you can sell multiple things at a time that would be a QoL improvement. Just a bunch of small stuff that hopefully adds up.

Got to hand it to the devs, their delusions of this game being anything but the failure it was is kind of sweet. I remember contacting them on Twitter when the trailer first dropped saying as a fan of every previous game I wouldn't be buying this, their reply was pretty much this. "We are targeting a NEW generation of gamers, NOT YOU!" How did that work then guys? Its what you get when you make a game who's characters personalities reflect the average Twitter user.

To me, bugfixes are not quality of life updates. QoL should be something like improved mechanics, minor visual changes for clarity, etc. A half-assed patch to "fix" your broken release is not a "quality of life" update.

What killed the base game for me was I really tried liking it. I tried so hard to give it a fair shot as a renewed IP. Unfortunately, I found myself loving the LARP missions. The characters meshed the best. The humor was actually there, and jokes landed in a way I managed to actually laugh. And that was when I realized I got scammed by volition. I wasn't playing Saint's Row, I was playing a sunset overdrive knock off with half the effort put in and a saints row sticker slapped on it.

I wonder how much of the original saints row development and writing team actually worked on this game.

I hop they still release the Saints Row 2 update, its pretty devastating that Mike worked on it for how long he did just for the possiblity that it might not happen.

I see my decision to not play this iteration of Saints Row is still keeping me from experiencing the pain of watching the SR name be violated. It's pathetic the way the base game was handled and this DLC roadmap is so horrendous you would think it's some sort of continuing parody or satire. I am even more confident that Saints Row as a franchise is totally finished now, there is just no way back at this point.

It's weird man, I can't tell if they honestly thought people would love this game just because they filled it with horribly stereotypical minorities. SR is meant to be whacky, immature and un-politically correct but it was also brilliantly insightful with it's satire at the same time. Like I say I've not played this but I have watched a few gameplay videos and it looks so soulless compared to the older titles. It looks worse than Agents of Mayhem, which I unfortunately did play. I know a lot of people hated the super hero aspect but Saints Row 4 is to me one of the best games I've ever played. It had it's problems but man was it fun. Definitely more fun that whatever the hell this is.

Ik that Saints Row is gonna get *one* more chance eventually but holy shit Volition kept fucking up on a near deliberate level. AOM was a disaster, and for this game Volition ignored what everyone and their mother told them on the game thet wanted. But Volition *thought* THEY new better than the mfs they wanted money from. This is the most deserved downfall I've ever seen for a franchise and studio. It’s just sad what happened to Saint’s Row. With the reboot they could have made a origin story or the founding of the original 3rd Street Saint’s with a more realistic Graphic and mature tone, focusing on the Gang War’s like like SR1 and SR2. Starting with the Playa as the Boss and later during the Campaign recruiting the original members, Johnny Gat, Lin, Troy, Dex and maybe Julius Little as well. For the Setting they could just use a new version of Stillwater with new Locations on it or connect it with Steelport.

It's like Saints Row has just become a study in how much they can get away with.

The nerve the have to even sell DLC for this mess is astounding

I know volition wrote themselves into a corner with saints row 4 but the true ending mentions time travel sure this might not sound worth anyone's time but they could've made it so the saints went back in time and destroyed the zin empire in its entirety before it invaded earth, saving the planet and giving us possibly another saints row game but nope we got something I can't call saints row what do I even call it

Sometimes it's hard believe that the first two games are part of the series made by the same developers, it's hilarious that the a.i is doing everything for them yet they refuse to realize they were in the wrong to not listen to it's fanbase because they couldn't handle criticism 😂

Saints Row reboot has been so sordid that it looks like it is an expansion pack for WATCH_DOGS 2. I could list down everything that made it into an abomination towards every organised crime game we know, but Volition using AI voice to advertise an announcement for new DLC with absolute indolence is totally unimaginable to my eyes.

In retrospect this seens like the sigh of volitions death.

The saints row IP needs to be sold to a studio with passion and care for the series people want a saints row 1&2 remake and we all now that volition can’t deliver on that

Saints Row itself is becoming weaker by the day. It's sad to see but, the community is becoming stronger.

Maybe AI made this game. It researched what's "gangster" and found all these ironic takes. It would explain a lot actually.

God they really don't know when to give up, do they? I keep thinking they hit the bottom of the barrel but they keep coming up with more and more ways to ensure this IP never has any potential value again. I'm actually expecting NFTs before they fully dissolve at this stage.
