volition is dead anyway it merged with gearbox and besides who used to owned them also plays a factor when thq inc purchased volition in 1999-2000 and got the marvel license to do the punisher game and got Thomas jane to voice the character when thq inc had volition to developed their games the same with saints row when they pitched the idea to thq inc about making that game it was all about the best player experience. after they when bankrupt in 2013 deepsliver tookover that same year in 2013 that's when the shit became more about wackiness and less about quality gaming experience. there was no balance that's just look at deepsliver leadership when it comes to dead island shit has alot been zero quality control. buggy glitchy half baked games since the very first dead island game including the new dead island game sadly this is the norm the same when it comes to the message over coming up with a good story. volition commited sucide when they sealed their own fate when they attacked and ignored feedback from the very fans that got them where they are today, while trying to steal a page from disney claiming that we're wrong and they're right. which also is a common trend in todays culture when it comes to studios, developers and publishers attacking their audience to generate buzz for their product.

@@SLEEPGANG agents of mayhem is shit and they knew it they even tried to distance themselves away from saints row by claiming agents of mayhem had no relations to saints row franchise. but they was so bankrupt for coming up with any new ideas that they killed off thq inc their previous owner/publisher that clearer put a filter on them for not going to far and now too carried away with that wacky shit that the franchise would later mutated into later installments.

This is a result of having the wrong people in house, and trying to appeal to an audience who doesnt even play video games.

Volition only needed one thing to save their franchise, is to *Listen to your Fans.* It’s not our fault, it’s theirs.

The Larping DLC really captures what Saints Row has painfully become. Of course in a formally gangster gang series, the first thing you want to do is pretend to kill people with nerf guns. They would no doubt tell us this garbage just wasnt made for us.

South Park games can get away with being centered around larping because the main characters are still kids. It's a lot more embarrassing when these people are supposed to be hardened criminals (key word here is "supposed", I bet that's what Volition/Deep Silver thinks they are) with a very real death toll in the hundreds and are playing pretend killing.

If they really don't want to make a new Saint’s Row game, why not just sell the ip to someone who wants to make one while they go on and create the kind of games they want to make? Or maybe go work for a different company? This kind of thing makes me wish there was a law preventing companies from just sitting on an intellectual property forever without making anything out of it.

Forcing a developer to make a game on an old IP would 100% be worse cause the games would be made with a lack of passion.

Already knew the last DLC wasnt gonna help, LARPing isn't even a thing in this City and those out there and I've never seen it anywhere else in the past either so that adds in the lack of interest.

I dont even get why they doubled down on it but like a lot of shit in this reboot and dev team, all they do is double down on stuff nobody asked for, nobody cared for, and insisted we needed more, got cocky and crashed their company. Instead of cancelling it, they went for it anyway and who gives a shit about this childish bs they swear is just so funny. I hate this studio.

Wish a new studio could be formed with mostly veteran devs from the first two Saints Row games to bring the series back to greatness. Wouldn't fly this day and age, though. That kind of existed, there was United Front Studios which was made up of Volition, Black Box (Undeground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon), Rockstar Vancouver (Bully), and Radical (Simpsons Hit and Run and Scarface: The World Is Yours) employees and they made Sleeping Dogs, which was a damn good game. Unfortunately Square Enix is ran by loons who were upset the game didn't sell 50 million copies like GTA and thus we never got anything more out of them

Not happening. The lead writer of SR2 & 3 works at Ubisoft these days. Previously he wrote Far Cry 5 and has now become the director of the entire IP. So he is not coming back.

what makes the secret cut scene funnier is that at least they choose a great songs for their endings from previous games (sr3,4) than Loveshack song. WHO THE FUCK SING LOVESHACK FOR THEIR KARAOKE!!!

Another problem with the third expansion is that you are forced to grind and increase your empire level (level 3) to buy the castle that unlocks the required mission to start the dlc... Unfortunately this franchise with so much potential is dead, not even that Saints Row 2 patch looks like it will ever be released.

The one simple Thing I wanted to slightlymore enjoy the Game, was Enemy Outfits for the Player. That's not even a Task, it's just copying them into the Players Wardrobe. The Voice Slider is so broken, it alters the Voice Pitch of the Murder Circus Characters.

What i think would be best is a remaster of 1 and 2, and usin that as a base to make undercover, the cancelled psp game

You stomped these awful excuses for DLC right in the mouth. I still can't believe they put way more effort into those stupid larping DLC missions than they did the entire main game. Somebody really needs to put DeadlySteph on a shorter leash so she can't put anymore input into these games. If it really is true that Deepsilver wants to try again with the SR IP asap(please God NO just let it rest!) then they're gonna need that crazy head as FAR AWAY from this project as possible.

I loved the game. I love the story, location, the characters. I always pictured it as the world johnny gat asked God to rebuild. I do think that it lacked the love the old ones had, and I would hope that they used this game to experiment to see what we would want. Maybe even find a way to link the cutscene of johnny gat as a cop to the new series but it looks like that won't happen.

SR is now staying with DS who wants another game ASAP so a new dev team will make the next SR game. I don't expect it be any good.

YOU WANT STORY BUILDING?? OKAY the saints are a top dog criminal organization that owns the city, and a competing criminal organization named the Sinners with three leaders representing the three stages of death, which become three bosses of the city, have the president in their back pocket with their dirty secrets for blackmail, so the president controls the police in the city and forces them to crack down on the saints, GOES TO WAR with them in an all out city wide shootout to retake the city from the saints, the boss like a FUCKING G is just chilling with his pants off watching TV because he owns the fucking TOWN, finally decides to hop in the action, QEUE the no pants shootout from the zipline being pulled by the helicopter! Then after the boss survives the city wide war, the president goes on a united nations summit and declares the saints be defunded and categorized as TERRORISTS effectively resetting the saints to zero and forcing them to disband out of fear, and having the world authorities crack down on the saints back down to lowly stragglers prompting the boss to restart his once great saints sent into hiding on to the new city of Cambrea to rebuild and take down the three leaders of the sinners and ultimately confront the president who doesn't want his secret fetish for midget porn dressed as blue smurfs to be revealed!!!! I MEAN JESUS how hard is it to tell a good over the top story!?!?!

At least Row IV had the common decency to not bullshit us. They had no plans and gave no shits but they sure as hell did it with a passion and charm. Was it a good Saints game? No, but it knew it wasn't. And they sure as hell had fun with Rows 3 and 4! This is just a sad attempt at fan service that tries to convince us that's it's any good.

Make another Red Faction Guerilla. The remastered did well i heard. I still play it.

Volition, just like Turtle Rock Studio, should be studied on how *not* manage an IP, marketing, and production of videogames. Think about it. They both made/help to make good games,got cocky and now think they are the biggest thing in the entire industry, while making objectively bad games.

[My idea for a new Saints Row] A new Saints Row should just start off from Saints Row The Third. Let Saints Row 4 and Gat Out Of Hell be nothing but a wild crazy dream the Boss had after watching a TV series about them and that whole story and have the Boss say, that he's done with the show and goes to the toilet to take a dump and a quick shower. Then he comes out and we see he's in the penthouse and a helicopter is landing on the helipad. The story could start off with some lieutenants jumping out the helicopter and telling the Boss since he was gone for so long, it seems like the new leadership of the Ronin has returned to Stillwater to avenge the lost family members, like it doesn't look like they'll try to take over Stilwater again, but just hunt down the Saints leadership and destroy their operations. The Boss would return and take care of this situation with their hacker team having found out the potential hideouts and then raid them all at ones with the most potential one getting raided by the Boss and big group of gang members with one of the lieutenants who came to him. They find the Ronin leader of the operation and take him out with the other Ronins and the Boss is disappointed how things have gone so dramatic all the sudden. Then that lieutenant he's with woukd tell him something like; "Yeah, who could've thought selling clothes, weird comics, bobble head figures, energy drinks and lunch boxes would make us look weak.". The Boss would reflect and say, that he already came to think about this a while ago after they beat the entire Syndicate and had Killbane tell him something similar. (The ending could've been the Boss deleting Killbane and Pierce and Oleg with a whole bunch of Saints rescuing Shaundi and the rest) They would decide to get rid of all that nonsense and become more serious again, because the Syndicate as powerful as they were had international allies who had to take big losses after it was all destroyed by the Saints. Cartels and other syndicate-like families would confront them and declare war on the Saints and begin to attack them in Steelport and Stilwater and the Saints would fight with everything they got and when that is over the Boss would decide to bring the war to them now. Then we would be introduced to a whole new big map where the other allies of the Steelport Syndicate are and to destroy the cartels we would have missions to defeat them in the main cities they're at and raid the place of the leaders. Now that wouldn't be no new maps, but just locations you'd only visit for the missions. The Saints would make a name for themselves again, be serious gang again, no nonsense anymore and the SR1 and SR2 flavor would return with some extra flavors on top of it to perfect it.

I can see the validity in everyone's complaints about this game. However, seeing as I got it for free as one of the psn monthly games, I'm kinda enjoying it 😅😅. It being free definitely allowed it to not be a complete let down. Definitely nothing like the originals..... but it's playable. Once I finish the trophies I'm still forsure getting rid of it

I can't imagine how depressing it must be working at Volition right now, all that work and development going into a product that was universally panned and a commercial stinker to boot. If they were smart they would have ran with a quasi apoc mad max game, with comedic elements. Idk why they thought saints row larping was the route. But ofc ppl want to pretend to pretend to pretend to pretend. Smdh

When the opening text crawl of Saints Row 3 has more actually funny humor than this entire game and its DLC expansions combined... That fucking karaoke 'ending'... Guantanamo bay used it once. All who heard it were begging to be waterboarded rather than ever hear it again, guards and inmates alike. It was designated 'inhuman overkill'.

th tombstone dates arn't accurate, the franchise only truely died with the Reboot's release, SR 4 and Gat Outta Hell arn't the most popular games in the series, but they didn't kill the fracnhise, if anything it only narrativly did by SR 4 having Earth be destroyed resulting in them having to either somehow reboot, continue the story in space or a simulation, or time travel. It's just the reboot that killed the franchise simply for being a reboot that betrayed everything people loved about the series, dare I say even Agents of Mayhem was more of a worthy successor, at least that felt like an alternate timeline with characters like KInzie, Pierce, Oleg, and Johnny Gat returning as Agents, and some minor characters mentioned in the backstory of the game.

I’m letting you guys know he definitely lied about the cheats there’s a lot you can utilize for the game he just doing the most for content. But yea overall no real updates on the game

This game reminds me of Mass Effect 4. The game itself is ok-ish, but the fact that it's the new chapter in a legendary series makes it so much worse. The writing in both games is mediocre at best, but in comparison to previous games, it's abysmal.

You know what? - I think Saints Row 2022 feels like Saints Row 5 rather than Saints Row 1 reboot - After incident of DeadlySteph, Volition and Deep Silver just shot their legs because her (At least Deep Silver still safe because Dead Island 2, but not for Volition) - This game still buggy on Epic Games, and than it will be release on Steam in 4 days 😂😂

Like atleast saints row you can just forget about it i mean its not like anyone really had any hype for it but cyberpunk my god the fanboys just wouldnt shut up about it for 2 years before it even came out. Like the Boss have No-Lines in a few chapters, but the others got lines. And set take place the a semi recreation of Steelport.

Well the reason why is because Saints Row The Third was the last "Traditional" Saints Row Game before all the goofier shit like Sci-fi aliens and hell. The games personally for me was okay at best, but nothing henious like the later games. You can say i have bad taste if you want but SR3 to me is just fine.

Playstation made me play this game. I'm kinda picky "gamer" and I have such a hard time understanding why everyone is slaughtering Saints Row reboot? Sure, it ain't a perfect game and to my knowledge the lunch and months after the release has been a nightmare. But fucking come on? I started with first Saint Row's game and sure, the 4th game was a joke and such.. But Saints Row reboot ain't so fucking bad? It lacks content after completion and sure it's grindy but the ventures? Only one I hated was Kakts? Where fights and setting up jammers sucked major ballsack. But it's a fun game and sure, cringy moments and such.. But y'all taking this game too serious? I've actually had a great and fun time playing it, audio is kinda meeh, not balanced correct and some crashes has occured and some moments also has been hard and annyoing but fucking come on? Alright to briefly explain why a lot of old fans hate the reboot. It kinda goes against everything a reboot for a Saints Row game would even be logistically. OG Saints Row meaning 1 and 2 we're gang simulators through and through and sure it had some goofy shit in them but it never effected the games storylines. What we got with those games (especially with the second one being so good) is what people would expect from a reboot. The Reboot was essentially the polar opposite with a weak cast, weaker story, weaker everything... it's just feels half-assed compared to the rest of the games in the series. It's like the recent live action disney reboots that took the original material that was great and made it worse for no reason. it lacks soul.
