AHR2022 Appion Vacuum demonstration Jake Phillips

Jake Phillips gives us a great demonstration with Appion products. I really like the way he demonstrated the flow by releasing the vacuum threw each hose separately so you can hear the difference.

    "I enjoy every day of work" this is awesome! I love hearing this! Schools pay insultingly low wages so this kind of feed back is what keeps me going! The full set up is impressive for vacuum. I'm so glad your enjoying your career and remember #neverstoplearning

    What he said about heat is true. I noticed when I started using half inch hoses they don’t get nearly as hot

    I love my Appion equipment. I am not super thrilled with the oil change on the fly. I tends to make a bit of a mess. I will put rags down and under the bottle and hav a rag ready when pulling the cartridge. I like how field piece has theirs set up to change the oil on the go. But I am not going to buy another pump for just that reason. And the Appion is a bit smaller, and fits nicely in my set up.

    100% agree about the oil mess! it also eats away the rubber foot too. After the last school used and abused all my equipment my pump is not running so good. I don't use it enough anymore to justify making a change.

    Our shop invested in buying two Appion hose kits. When the gaskets failed and we priced out the gaskets we ended up shelving the two kits. We went with another brand and have been doing great with our new set ups. Appion has quality stuff. No argument there. The cost to manufacture the gaskets vs their selling price is unjustifiable. It’s just pieces of rubber.

    Which setup did you go with? I found it ridiculous that they sell the plastic coupler that holds the hoses together for a ridiculous price.

    @@OnePointLander We’ve been using Yellow Jacket Plus II hoses with Appion schrader core valves. Our vacuums typically get below 150 microns on vrf multi condenser systems and stay below 200 microns during our decay tests. We have had no problems with these hoses. The gaskets are cheap enough to replace whenever they look the slightest bit worn. We couple the ends of the hoses together with brass male x male flare reducer fittings.

    Isn't it actually 760,000 microns for 1 atm? Or, what's the elevation in Las Vegas?

  • @love2hvac

    @love2hvac

    2 жыл бұрын

    Las vegas is at 2000' above sea level but the air is also dry which is heavier . on that day the barometric pressure was 30.2" mercury which converts to 14.8 PSIA being just slightly heavier than typical sea-level conditions.
