Hey guys! I don’t typically leave comments, but I wanted to say this to you. I almost skipped past your reactions because of my own preconceived notions. I’ve watched a lot of reactions to various BTS content, and am often disappointed by what I find. There are a lot of people who hear “BTS” and immediately dismiss them for being a boyband & what they think is shallow, bubblegum pop K-Pop. There are many people who create videos solely for ARMY engagement & clout, because, let’s face it, we’re a big, loud, and eager group who tend to get excited to witness new people experience their music & flock to channels that show interest in them. So I have to be honest about how skeptical I was to see “4 random dudes” reacting to our guys. That being said, a fellow ARMY posted about your reactions on Twitter, explaining how genuine & thoughtful your videos are. So I thought I’d give you a chance, because I trusted their opinion and because I try to give new reactors the benefit of the doubt as people learning about something brand new to them (I’m not always good at it, but I try!) I just binge-watched all of your BTS-related videos and I am so excited to see what comes next! As you talked about how your preconceived ideas about BTS have been changed as you learned more about SUGA, j-hope, and RM, so have my preconceived ideas about you gentlemen and your reactions changed. It is so refreshing to find people who are open-minded, willing to learn & reflect, and excited to analyze all aspects of the guys’ music, lyrics, videos, etc. Thank you, sincerely, for listening & watching with open hearts & minds, and for providing such honest reactions. I have greatly enjoyed watching them! And thank you for (unintentionally) reminding me that I also need to remain open-minded, patient with others, and willing to reflect on myself. I’m sorry this is so long! 😂 Enjoy your BTS exploration, there’s a whole world of incredible music waiting for you 💜

Yes, it’s a very good visual representation of what PTSD (which usually involves other forms of mental illness like anxiety and depression) feels like. There’s disassociation, intrusive thoughts, “reliving” the trauma in flashbacks and/or nightmares, mental exhaustion, avoidance behavior which can include self-harm, numbness, etc. Also the general feeling of being trapped/stuck in darkness and desperately trying to “erase” or change the past by continuously thinking “what if…?” It’s a very powerful MV.

Guys, you did so well analyzing this MV! Just wanted to mention, the pills were something he took after the accident reenacted in the MV. As a trainee, Suga (pronounced like sugar but without the r, short for Shooting Guard) got a job as a food delivery boy. The Big Hit Entertainment didn't want them to work outside of the program but Suga was poor and didn't have enough money to sustain himself while training. He got into a pretty horrific accident. At first, he didn't tell the company and tried to hide it so that he wouldn't get cut but after a few weeks he had to tell them. He suffered with a shoulder injury from it for years, taking pain pills to ease the discomfort. I don't know that it ever became an overwhelming addiction but those pills do alter your state and often your personality. He's actually pretty anti recreational drug use so I doubt he had a substance abuse problem but did need the meds for his pain and also mental health issues. Eventually he got shoulder surgery and now he's doing much better. In the video the him before the accident realizes what's about to happen and tries to stop it and save himself but he can't and Suga can never completely erase the accident and his other traumas from his brain. In the end, I think it shows that it's not so easy to shed your traumas but you must try. Recently he did something at his last concert to let us know that he has healed and is moving forward now, happy and healthy. 💜

Great explanation. I have just a little correction - the type of pain pills that you're talking about aren't even legal in Korea. I'm struggling with pain because of my disease (I don't use that kind of addictive drugs either) and trust me, pain itself is enough to cloud your mind and influence your behavior. I also wouldn't say that Suga is anti recreational drug use as some of his friends aren't (or weren't) strangers to it. One thing that he was saying clearly is that he's opposing the artists who need drugs to make their music and promoting this kind of behavior as a legitimate process to make art. Lets not jump to conclusions that are so far reaching.

I enjoyed your reaction today. Fun fact - the white door he was trying to get out of - (eg: trying to escape the memories that hold him back in his Amygdala) he recently held his final solo tour performance last weekend in Seoul and normally he just walks straight off stage never looking back at the audience at the end. For the last concert the stage went black at the end of the last song (aptly named "The Last") then lit up again spotlighting Suga. He smiled, walked around and thanked the audience before walking to the back of the stage where a white door was lit up. He gave one last wave then opened the door, walked through, turned and waved again and closed it behind him. He was so emotional during the last 4-5 songs of this performance (crying so much he couldn't even sing) and it was just so beautiful to see that he wanted to let us all know he'd fought his demons, made his way through the door to the next chapter of his life. I look forward to watching whatever else you discover about this group of amazingly talented men. It's nice to see reactors making an effort to understand and discuss what they've actually watched.

This man is the strongest person I've ever gotten to know, during the last concert he showed us all how much pain, how much anger, how much desperation he's kept inside all this time, and how his work, his music, the stage finally helped him to free himself and to go through that door. It was his greeting, with a smile and eyes filled with tears as he told us that the future will be all right, that he will be back together with the others in 2025 and will be stronger and freer.

Suga was actually hit by a car while he was a delivery boy (so the scene in the music video is actually a re-enactment of what actually happened to Suga) before BTS debuted and it messed up his shoulder and he was afraid to tell the company at the time because he was a trainee and was afraid he would be kicked out of the company if he told them what happened. Can you believe he performed for 8 years with an injured shoulder? He finally had shoulder surgery back in 2020. In BTS new book Suga wrote about sitting on his mom's lap and hearing a ticking in her chest and he would ask what the sound was, he said he kind of felt guilty thinking his birth caused her heart problems. Yes his parents are both alive. Suga's older brother recently got married and they were both there plus they attended one of Suga's final concerts in Seoul before he enlists in the military.

They did find out about his injury while he was still training and sent him for treatment and really took care of him back then, but yeah years of dancing and performing took their toll and he had to have surgery just a couple/few years ago, and now his '7' tattoo is there on his shoulder. He has said that sometimes we create our own scars and learning how to live through and past that is part of facing ourselves and making our way to the person we want to be. We have to face our darkness to really grow and evolve. Love his depth of thought and feeling and artistry.

The amygdala is a part of the brain that acts as the trauma centre, it deals with the connection and processing of emotions and memories. It’s incredibly important for human survival instinct: eg. if you have a near death experience with water, the amygdala will help you learn to be scared of water in the future to avoid a similar experience repeating and make your survival more likely. So Suga is saying “my amygdala, please help me, get me out of here.” The pills are very likely to be antidepressants and/or pain medication for his shoulder, which he injured after the motorcycle accident. Maybe you can do a video per vocalist too, so you can get to know the names and faces individually before starting with BTS music? I recommend Jin: The Astronaut and Epiphany Jimin: Like Crazy and Set me free pt 2 V: Rainy days and Singularity Jungkook: Still with you (has no music video, you’d need a lyric video) and Seven

Suga is probably the most raw of the 3 rappers in BTS. FYI, his parents are both living. Also, the motorcycle accident really happened, when Suga was a trainee. He was afraid to tell the company because he thought they would send him home. However, he hurt his shoulder so he told them he fell down the stairs. He kept performing, doing the crazy dances, etc., but he finally got shoulder surgery in late 2020 to repair the damaged shoulder from way back before 2013 sometime. Although this song is so doggone sad and real, I love it. I also appreciate that Suga (real name: Min Yoongi) puts himself out there for us. He's grown in that regard. Although he's always been real, this was the most revealing in my opinion. If you want to react to all 3 rappers together, try one or all of these: Outro: Tear (live with English subtitles), Ddaeng, or Ugh. If you do the latter 2, please also watch the song as explained by a Korean on DKDKTV channel, as there is a lot of word play in those 2 that non-Koreans like you and me would never catch. I love Outro: Tear, but I also get pretty emotional because I know when and why it was written. More on that later.

The car accident scene, is a real story in the past. Suga get car accident while he do his part time job as food delivery back his trainee day. He is from poor family, hence his family didnt have money for his college tuition. So he take part time to pay his college while being a trainee on bighit (his label company, now bighit change their name become Hybe). He almost die from that accident, fortunately he was safe but his shoulder get hurt really bad. He hide it from anyone about that accident, from his bandmate, from his parent, esp from his label because he is afraid to get kicked out n fail to debut because of his injury. So he endure the pain alone. While his shoulder is still injury badly, he kept do his part time job while continue practicing n dancing, that make his shoulder injury become more bad until he cant endure the pain, he decide to resign n tell to his company that he cant continue due his shoulder pain. He thoughts he will get kicked out xoz he cant continue anymore, instead his CEO scold him why he didnt tell them sooner about his injury. So his company ask him to quit from his part time n paid for his college tuition and paid for hospital treatment n they delayed his debut until his shoulder get recovery. But even his shoulder get treatment, due of BTS hard dancing choreo over the years, his shoulder never get full revovery. So he drink lot of painkiller pill (u can see he drink so many pills or tablet on Amygdala MV, it's painkiller pills to treat his shoulder injury pain, also he get depression too n went to psychologist. It might be for anti depression pills too). And everytime BTS have concert, he will get shot painkiller to reduce his a pain on his shoulder. That happened for so many years Until his shoulder gave up, n the pain killer pills n shots not work anymore to reduce his shoulder pain. Then in 2020, he decide agree eith doctor suggestion to have surgery to fixed his shoulder problem. Then the company halt of all of his activity until he full recover from the surgery. It take less than 5 months for his recovery n now Suga said, his shoulder feel so much better now and he didnt need to take painkiller anymore :)

The live performance of this on his final show of his tour he played electric guitar and was so emotional he couldn’t get through the song with out a lot of tears. In the first two songs he is constantly battling himself, the part that is angry/greedy/craving power and continues fighting his way back to his roots. Here we see those scars he inflicted in himself throughout his life. It’s a powerful song a out unpacking trauma and being trapped for years by the fight or flight response those traumas give us. I’ve never seen a better representation of the frustration and anxiety of feeling trapped in your own memories. He’s so raw and again in his final concert he played his 3 most emotional songs and just couldn’t get through them without a lot of tears and pain on stage. I’ve never witnessed another artist push through emotional pain on stage like that. I have such deep respect and he’s taught me so much. The rapline are so supremely talented it’s crazy. I’ll suggest Outro:Tear live, a song he wrote for BTS when they were discussing breaking up that’s just the 3 rappers. Seeing them live will really show you what they can do.

I believe the pills in the video could represent pain medication he had to take for his shoulder from getting hit by the car during his trainee days. He didn't get surgery to fix it until late 2020, and I know he's mentioned in Lives prior to 2020 that he's gotten shots to help with the pain, so he dealt with the pain for at least eight years before being able to take time off to take care of it.... But he's also spoken about his struggles with anxiety, depression, and OCD so medication for those illnesses may also have been represented with the pills as well This was my instant favorite song from his album after D-Day was released

I'll add my 2 cents 😅 Just to make sure we're all on the same page, Yoongi = AgustD = Suga in my essay below hah Basically the entire trilogy has always 2 characters and the chronology can be also interpreted in 2 ways: Chronology by time of creation of the song & AgustD evolution as an artist as well as his dealing with his issues: Daechwita -> Haegeum -> Amygdala Or as you noticed, Amygdala is kind of a prequel in terms of storyline, so then the order would be Amygdala -> Daechwita -> Haegeum but Amygdala tho has multiverse-like feel but let me get to that in a moment xD What I meant about 2 characters: 1. Daechwita: Low-class Rebelliant Yoongi (with the scar already) kills Mad King Yoongi (also with the scar, corrupted by power). In Daechwita AgustD kills his past self, so I think it's safe to say that Mad Kind Yoongi is from AgustD mixtape by the same title (AgustD), where he was /angry/. 2. Haegeum: Mob Yoongi (without a scar) that wants freedom of thought fights with his own corruption, Detective Yoongi (with the scar). I like to think that Detective Yoongi is Rebelliant Yoongi from Daechwita after some time has passed and he also got corrupted (be it power, or a metaphor fir "I didn't really let go of my past before, I couldn't") Why? Because Daechwita was also originally Yoongi saying "I am diffeent now than the Mad King in AgustD mixtape, I'm less angry so I killed him" but tbh he still hadn't let go of his issues, it was like a festering wound. In Haegeum he promotes freedom, also freedom for idols (he smokes in the MV which is smth that could get you cancelled in South Korea as an idol as idols should be "perfect") so that they can be treated more like human beings. For the first time he kills his past as a Yoongi without scar, so without the initial set up for corruption. 3. Amygdala Here we learn where did the scar come from, so sort of a prequel, but at the same time it exists in parallel to other MV or even after them. Why? Because this is Yoongi stuck in a neverending loop while Daechwita and Haegeum are breaking points that happen once. It's a bit like constant reactions (in ohysics sense) that from time to time result in a peak (Daechwita, Haegeum) that might or might not break the circle. We've got 2 Yoongis again: Yoongi that gets the scar (scar as a self-inflected mental wound, wound on a soul that's why every other Yoongi that emerges from his past has it) and Yoongi from his pre-debut days so before he was 21 years old, without the scar, before he got into accident. Pre-Debut Yoongi exists in Yoongi's mind as a construct that replays the accident that seriously injured his arm over and over again. At the same time Scarred Yoongi seems to be locked inside Yoongi's mind, relieving his past trauma and failured, which could make him mad enough to be angry, and to become the Mad King. Pre-Debut Yoongi finally hears something that stops him from getting into accident, and tries to open the door, tries to break out of the cycle and free Scarred Yoongi. It doesn't work but at least he didn't get into accident so butterfly effect is in motion, cycle gets broken. If you also take into consideration BTS previous works inspired by Jung's psychology and the fact that Yoongi has a song called "Shadow", where he talks about his inner, corrupted self, it also get slightly different flavour. You can also think of either Yoongi in Amygdala in terms by Jung and Freud: Shadow (corrupted/repressed-Id), Ego, and Super-Ego.

Then I'd recommend a live performance of BTS that showcases a few songs. 3 different suggestions for that Tiny Desk, 2021 Festa BTS Room Live, or Proof Live. Those are all about 15 minutes of music, but Proof Live has a part in the middle where they reminisce and talk.

The room is his amygdala, the part of the brain where trauma is stored. The trap is the trauma, not addiction. Yoongi has said that he was not able to deal with things that happened in his life when he was young and so he felt his traumas were self inflicted. His healing journey has been to realize that if he can give himself these scars, he can also heal them by dealing with the trauma. He’s been dealing with these traumas in his private, public and artistic life. He finally feels ready to move on and, as is common with BTS, they share these hard things with us when they feel they are moving past them or have conquered them.

Sad and kind of strange that he feels his traumas were self-inflicted. Who can deal with traumas as a young child? No one can. That doesn’t mean they’re self-inflicted. He did not give himself the scars he acquired. He just, unfairly, has to deal with their aftermath, as all of us traumatized people do. Thinking they’re self-inflicted is just self-blame which makes the process of healing harder.

@penyarol83 I agree. I also have a childhood trauma history. I do think it's sad he sees it this way. But he's moved past them so, ultimately, he's done his healing work, even if he did make it harder on himself. S Korea is famous for their music, fashion and advanced skincare. Mental health support and understanding.....not so much.

@@NanciBK it just makes me wonder how much he's truly moved past them if he still thinks he's to blame for them. That doesn't seem like a healed attitude. Stuff can live on for a long time in the unconscious if we haven't resolved it, even if we think we have resolved it, and it'll come out in different ways. It's really not ok for a society to be so blind and unsupportive about these most important matters 😔 It speaks to the lack of health (toxicity) & dangerousness of the society as a whole (and I think that applies to pretty much all "modern" societies, not just SK...)

You can refer to something without admitting to participating. It could simply be commentary. He's mentioned friends in his past, and in songs who have made bad decisions. The images of handfuls of pills can certainly refer to a feeling of being overwhelmed and a feeling of being over-medicated, even if isn't by choice or abuse. I think there is a difference between glorifying drug use (which is looked down on), and making serious commentary on drugs, illegal or otherwise.

I cried like a baby the first time I saw this. People with trauma have versions of themselves that you have to integrate at some point. The amygdala stores and builds fear around trauma to protect you in the future. I personally feel like there are versions of us that die all the time. Decisions and regrets go with them. You know you can try to save them but you just need to love and forgive them and absorb them to become healthier. He did hurt his shoulder in an accident and hid it from the company when he was starting with Bighit. He was in pain for a long time and working, probably on medication. Doolset is pretty on point for BTS lyrics. Also, you can't assume you know a member's style from just one song. Their work is incredibly diverse even in their solo work. For example j-hope has laid back songs like the one you listened to and others like More and Arson that are rock influenced to upbeat tracks like daydream. The same with Suga and RM. Extremely diverse. I just discovered them in January so I still have a lot of content to get through. I have been through all their discography but the also have a variety show that is hilarious called Run BTS and I am only on episode 56 out of 155. They have vacation shows called in the soop and I have only watched one season of that. I did watch their TV show American hustle where American rappers like Coolio and Warren g worked with them in their second year after debut. I also watched the rise of bangtan as well as burn the stage. I am sure there is more that I need to get through. But their music is amazing. My BTS and solo playlist is nearly 16 hours. For vocal line song - The Truth Untold LIVE version. I always recommend watching a lyric video or MV first to look at the lyrics and then watch the live version after. He has been very open about struggling with depression and anxiety since his teens. From here on I’d suggest listening to at least one song from the singers in the group! That way you can get a vague feeling for who they are and what they can contribute. Then you can get into the group songs :) And I'm sure you've been getting a couple suggestions to watch the BTS: the Bangtan 7 guide - I also recommend watching it 💜

If you need medication for mental health, it doesn’t mean dependence, some people have to be on it their whole life and he wouldn’t want there to be a stigma around that. He is saying as much as he can to connect with many people who have their own story. This is why we all get emotional with this one.

This was the final song he is ready at last to look backwards. So he is dealing with in order..DAECHWITA ( proffessional barriers/ injustices and problems) HAEGEUM ( societal barriers/injustices) AMYGDALA ( personal barriers) The awful thing to realise is after the car accident Suga was too worried about being cut to tell anybody. He was in terrible pain the whole time he was doing those energetic dances. That is why he was quiet. Thats why the members teased him he was like a stone. Nobody knew until comparitively recently when he had his shoulder surgery. He answered a question during that time when asked to describe himself...he said EAT SLEEP WORK.

Last sunday Suga held the final show for his solo tour and it was one of the most intense concert experiences I've had and I wasn't even there, just streaming it on my laptop. Yoongi cried, ARMY cried, we were all a mess😅He finished his final show by walking through the white amygdala door thus culminating not just the Amygdala MV but also the entire Agust D trilogy. Him just taking a deep bow and walking through that door with the biggest smile on his face was probably the most beautiful finale we could've hoped for. The pills he was taking was likely either pain medication for his shoulder or anti-depressants. He definitely didn't have substance abuse, kpop idols aren't even allowed to smoke (that's why he is seen smoking in Haegeum MV, one of the ways he was trying to 'lift the ban' for idols). Also, it's hard to catch but at some point instead of taking pills, Yoongi's eating almonds. 'Amygdala' is a greek word for almond. This particular part of the brain is shaped like an almond, therefore it's name. It's really lovely seeing you guys starting to understand why BTS is so loved. All 7 are the kindest and most authentic souls and it all translates into their work. Let me also tell you that there's hundreds if not thousands of hours of BTS content that has nothing to do with music. Think playing games, traveling, cooking, just hanging out and chatting with each other or livestreaming and hanging out with ARMY. Basically, this might be the biggest rabbit hole you will ever step into, enjoy your ride.

I think, the ending is that when you went through something so traumatizing, part of you would be left in that memory. No matter what you do, what you want, you are permanently changed by those events. It doesn't mean there's no hope or giving up. It's just that you recognize the impact of the past and how it changed you. But recently, on the last day of his D-Day World Tour The Final, the stage was the room he was trapped in the MV, after he performed his last song "The Last", there's a door (that iconic Amygdala Door) set up on the stage. He opens it, turn around to wave at the audience, and walks through, closing the door behind him. Finally, setting him free!!! The planning that went into this just blown my mind! 🤯 This man's real name is Min Yoongi (surname first) mainly a rapper, lyricist and a producer. Suga, when he's in BTS and Agust D, his alter ego, when he's in his solo stuffs. You'll see the difference between the 3 personas. About the Trilogy, it started when he released his first mixtape, D-1 (2016), where "Agust D", a self-titled track was released also. In his second mixtape D-2 (2020), "Daechwita" was released. This 2023, he completed it with his album called D-Day, where the main track is "Haegeum". And "Amygdala", the prequel of the whole trilogy and based in his personal life story. This whole trilogy was planned years ago, he revealed. He wanted it, planned about it and yeah, He made it! He's so genius when it comes to music. He can express his true self and emotions/feelings through it metaphorically. I'm so proud! Proud not only of him but all of these men, BTS. They went through a lot and had a hard time back then. But they've proved that their incredible talents, good efforts and having a positive mindsets would have a great results. Brought them to where they are now. But still, they are genuinely humble. 🙂 I'm so proud being in this family!💜 The prejudice and misconceptions about them at first? For me, it's understandable especially for people who are unusual to this kind of stuff like the K-pop, you know! But BTS is BTS. They're beyond that. But still, thank you for giving them the chance to tell their stories through their music. Thank you for your genuine reactions to their songs. I really love it. Looking forward for more stuffs with them. 🙂 Have a good day! 🌞

BTW, there is an explainer youtube channel called DKDKTV that explains the Korean lyrics well. It's definitely helpful when you start going through the rap line songs because some of them are rooted in history. 2. There is no right or wrong way to get to know BTS. You can go through the rap line (RM, SUGA, jhope) or the vocal line (Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook), or the dance line, or thru genres, or chronologically (2013-2023), or through the The Rise of Bangtan Documentary (that's chronological too), or the BTS guides by xCeleste or Taylor Mari in KZread. CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE!🤠😎 We just want to be along with your journey Keep it up guys! Excited for you! Edit: Oh also, just to show you how amazing SUGA is. On the last day of his concert tour, as he was saying goodbye, a door appeared on stage. The same door as in the Amygdala MV. In all of the tour stops, there was no door, he would just walk off stage. But on the last day, he approached the door with a smile on his face and opened it. He then faced us, the audience, bowed, waved, and closed the door behind him. For us, that was a sign that he was healed now. He was able to escape. He's happy. He's pass his trauma. It was an emotional tour. Then not even 24 hours later, he announced he'll be enlisting in the military hahahahahahahah roller coaster i tell ya!!

I found them in a period (around mid 2017) where I was very physically and mentally sick, and now I love myself, albeit a daily battle, and feel that tomorrow is hopeful instead of dreadful. This song was such a personal song to put out and I saw bts live in 2018 and 2019 and Agust d live in NY and sobbed during this live. He’s an artist through and through and to watch him grow into the happy man who has faced his trauma and anxieties head on and shared it with ARMY, is truly amazing. The video has the PG version. He lived with that agony in secret, even lying to his brothers in BTS that he fell on some stairs and it was no big deal. His accident was before their debut and he was afraid he would lose his spot and that the rest of the group would not be able to debut because they would have to redo all their seven person songs and choreography without him. So he hid the pain and lied. He did all their insane choreography in pain. Until the pain was so bad that he could not even lift a cup anymore. He finally came clean and had surgery on the shoulder in 2020 and is doing much better now. He has also always suffered from social anxiety, depression and ocd and been very raw and open about his struggles in his words and music and has helped a ton of people.

THE PILLS: Yoongi had insomnia (plus others). Taking Ambien meant sleep but also hallucinations, memory loss, etc. But he had to be awake for work. Your amygdala is supposed to help you make decisions. Fight or flight, etc. That’s why he keeps talking about best choice, second best choice, etc. He had to make decisions. He also said that we make our own scars… When things happen to us, we decide how it affects us to a degree. Two different people will have two different reactions to something bad happening to them.

For the 3 rappers together: Outro: Tear - watch ONLY (at least for your first watch) their live performance in Wembley from their 2019 tour where they were all in black Dior Cypher Medley (1-4) - their Wings Tour 2017 in Seoul where they were all in white. They have moved on from this raw angry selves in many ways, but the fire is still there in all of them. You can see this in all of their recent solo albums.

I think the pills represent pain medication but also you might not be able to see he was also eating almonds (reference to a book and the Amygdala). Anyway, because of the accident, he suffered pain on his shoulder for years and just 2-3 years ago he finally had shoulder surgery. No one knows this for sure, but I do not think he is a substance abuser actually just based on lyrics from his songs alone. Like the song Dear My Friend (in the same album), he raps about a former close friend that chose a different/wrong path. Also Suga’s music ambition over the years wouldn’t have room for things like that to get in his way. Anyway, I really think you guys need to really watch A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7 by Taylor Amari. It would help you understand their background and who they are.

He’s an extremely honest song writer. If you listen to the mixtapes and albums, a lot almost read like a diary. RM is a very honest song writer too but his lyricism is a bit more metaphorical whereas Yoongi is more conversational (Yoongi’s my favourite lyricist🙈 but I’d say RM’s pen is fundamental to BTS). Hobi is a stylistic chameleon, hard to explain but somehow makes so much sense when you remember that he was a street dancer first. D2 is probably still my favourite of the AgustD trilogy, but all 3 are great. You see his growth too, as a songwriter and a producer. BTS discography is soooo vast and diverse😂. To get a feel, I’d actually suggest some medley live performances like their NPR tiny desk concert or 2021 festa room live. For actual BTS MVs, hmmm mic drop, ON kinetic manifesto version, black swan, boy with luv, I need u, spring day, not today, fake love, idol maybe? The latter two in a stadium concert is so 🔥 that seeing them live bumped them up my ranking so much.

Yes, this is a “prequel”. Here he gives himself the injury. If you notice, in Daechwita both characters have the scar but the mad king has a much fresher one than the peasant. In Haegum, the corrupt cop has an “old” scar which makes one think he’s what the peasant who became the new king in Daechwita turned into eventually, while the thief doesn’t have a scar anymore. This means he’s healed completely and is at peace, but many people have pointed out that in the very last shot his HAIR falls over the same eye so the internal struggle is never really “over”.

As an older Army, the last post written by Racheyedna I really appreciate your view and the fact that you understand this is a story of his life and the things has experienced. Although Suga is part of BTS, he is a human and has struggles like a normal person, which he is. The fact he has overcome all of these things is amazing in itself. Suga has allowed us to see him as a normal person and revealing himself to us. It shows us that he goes things just like us army do. Love your reactions and enjoy your BTS experience.

I love how you reacted to the reveal of the origin of the scar he first introduced in Daechwita! The room he is in is the Amygdala, which is a part of the brain that processes emotions and trauma. The bottles of pills you saw are prescription medications, which could be for his mental illness or for managing the pain in his shoulder caused by the car accident early in his career. SUGA has been critical of people who use recreational drugs in Daechwita and other songs.

Hi! I’m enjoying your reactions a lot, you seem super genuine. You asked for BTS recommendations so you have a few options depending on which path you want to follow: If you want to watch music videos: Fake Love, ON (Kinetic Manifesto Film), Blood Sweat & Tears, MIC Drop and Black Swan are some of my favorites If you want to see something live: Tiny Desk Concert (they performed 3 songs) or BTS Room Live 2021 (it’s a medley of some of their songs) If you want to get to know the vocalists: Jin: The Astronaut Jimin: Like Crazy or Set Me Free Pt.2 Jungkook: Seven V: Love Me Again or Rainy Days (he just released these songs lol) Also, you need to watch an introduction to the members at some point and the best out there is “A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7” by Taylor Mari Hope I wrote everything right since English isn’t my first language 😅 Keep going guys!

But I think you have to check out a few more songs to have more background for a better understanding of his story: First Love, Dear My Friend, The Last. He is amazing. And he just finished his tour and the last show was an emotional rollercoaster. But it was a happy ending. He is stepping up for a new chapter now.

The mv trilogy ends here, but the story is actually continued through the set of his world tour; The small, black, square stage is designed to replicate the amygdala room, and he starts every show laying on the ground- which is where we left off in this mv . The very last show he ended by opening the door himself, and finally walking out through .

Our Amygdala does lock us in our hardships, and his portrayal of that here hit me hard. My pill was alcohol, but as you may know, you sober up and reality is still there. This part directs us to try and free ourselves from our mindset that stops us from moving forward and letting go of our past hurt and pain. Thats my take on it anyway, I too felt the depth of the story when Suga tried to free himself. Love his 3 mv's.

So Amygdala is a part of your brain that drives your fight or flight response. So I believe the room that he is in, is that part of his brain where in the MV shows his memories and how he responds to unpacking them. First he has a flight response I think when he tries to exit and the second time is his real self trying to save himself which ithink is fight response (just my interpretation). These are all very real things that happen to him that he has trauma from and left deep scars, some that he did to himself (the scar on his eye). I don't believe he was an addict because in other songs, he looks down on what he calls weak pill poppers. I think it was all the meds he has needed to take whether that be for his shoulder injury or his depression/anxiety. It also shows him in a disassociated state when he is looking down at himself which can be triggered by trauma. It most definitely is a lot to unpack but we are really thankful that he feels he can tell us about his stuggles. In the last day of his concert, he has a door set up and at the end is finally able to walk through it.

I think you are right about the prequel. Here we see where the scar came from. In Daechwita we see Suga with the healed scar try to kill Suga with the still raw scar, but we don’t see the body after Suga shoots him. Suga even said in an interview back in 2020, “ I don’t know, maybe I missed.” Which makes me believe that scarred Suga survived. In Haegeum we see Suga with no scar killing Suga with the healed scar, and this time we do see the body. Scarred Suga is dead for sure. So in Amygdala scarred Suga stays trapped in his mind and doesn’t get out, but Daechwita and Haegeum seem like the stages of healing and trying to get rid of that Suga who would scar himself and become an unscarred Suga. A clean slate Suga.
