The plate Stuart designed and made is beautiful! I love the colors blue & white together. Dinner looks so yummy. It reminds me of a dish my Czechoslovakian grandmother used to make us when we visited the farm. Lots of love, Doc❤

Loved seeing you guys at La Lande. It was nice seeing your filming of the grounds at La Lande, its a magical place. I want to visit there as well. I guess many of us have watched La Lande and Stephanie grow over a long time now, its feeling part of it all as we do with you guys. Beautiful creation Stuart, I love your work and will have to purchase some. Dinner and cake looked lovely, YUM! I have been busy here the last week taking on another restaurant project, analysis and few months action plan to bring it back to a good orderly professional running concern again. Its hard work but really gratifying to watch the transformation, but these are early days and is hard work. I have rounded up a good core team to help get the ball rolling however. 😘😘

Hi Patrick and Stewart! Lovely gift you gave to La Lande. Is it not beautiful that you also receive gifts from other whom do it not for to be mentioned! Just because they wish too. ❤️ That looked like a Santoku knife! Which is great for everything. But! They normally if good quality are slightly dull bladed unless you buy straight from the manufacturer to use. So hence why it (bad wrist noted) as good rub with a stone across the edge and slightly oiled whilst doing it. Refines the edge after it’s sent across the world to you. It protects the knife in delivery. And Stewart! I want some of that cake please😋

Very professional and scenic views at La Lande, just beautiful. Loved the music too. Stuart your plate was really gorgeous, you have such talent in design which is evident in your cake decorations too! I was listening/ watching your chicken dish very intently Patrick as it sounds delicious and I love seeing a different way of serving chicken. What lovely music selection for Stephanie’s Chateau, she didn’t appear as comfortable in front of the camera, just an observation, I am a fan of both channels. The food, wow😮, you do put on a fabulous feast for the eyes and I’m sure it smelled and tasted great! You both compliment each other so well, I’m always smiling while I watch, thank you.

Good morning Patrick & Stuart, love the chicken dish, so much goodness all in one dish! Would enjoy seeing some glimpses of the dinner. Will definitely visit not quite a chateau with Jane and Tony I am sure it will be an experience as they are always on the move. Have you ever tried using garlic chives in the mash, it is a flat leaf herb and you cut it up into small pieces and just stir them into you mash. It takes it to another level, that is, if you enjoy the flavour of garlic. If you do not have, try to get it from the nursery or a friend. You will not be disappointed. Yes, Patrick almost always adds or alters meals with delicious things to take foods to another level with adding garlic or chives, other seasonings, etc. This dish was about doing it exactly following a traditional French recipe. I always think it is better to first try a recipe as written, and then altering the next time if it needs spicing up or making it your own. Thanks! 💕

That was a beautiful plate! 😊 I never ever boil vegetables, including potatoes. Steam only, and I don't peel potatoes either. All the nutritional value is in the peel. The rest is starch. If you steam enough, the peeling is quite edible even in mashed potatoes. That chicken dish looks delicious! Yummy! 😊

Thank you! Yes, we quite often steam vegetables and keep peels on potatoes. Patrick was following a traditional French recipe, and those things are just not done here. When others make this dish for themselves, they can make their own versions.

In the US I never peeled potatoes. Even when I cooked 30 years ago in Germany, I rarely peeled veggies for the very reason you mentioned. It’s where a lot of nutrients are in. 😊. Hope you like the parmentier when you try it. 😊

Hi Sheila. Oh your comment is just lovely. The dish is really yummy. I hope you can make it your own. Beef or vegetarian are options too. I know the knife is intimidating. I was careful.
