Patrick, I love your chiming clock.🕰️ My own mantle clock is a 7-day with Westminster chimes. It brings me back to my childhood and I can hear it throughout my entire house. 🏡 My god parents were antique dealers for much of the latter half of the last century. Their prized collection of antique clocks lined their living room walls. The whole room exploded into a cacophony every 15 minutes. They took great pride in adjusting them to all chime in unison. I was so impressed when you were actually able to repair your own kitchen clock. Bravo! ❤ from TX!

Thank you so much ❤❤❤. I have so far repaired 2 tall clocks and have a 3rd in the making but no time. The smaller clockworks require a much larger arsenal of parts and a lot of time to repair. Good morning Patrick & Stuart, and the year is rolling! Happy New Year, may it be a wonderful year for you at the Chateau, happy hours/days of renovating, browsing around town and visiting your lovely friends and family. You will be busy no doubt, but find time to chill out. Grabbing a glass of wine and the bottle, a comfy chair and provided it is a good weather day, go and sit in the garden with the dogs around you. The clock is lovely, what is the matter with some people. The best thing of visiting your friends/family is to share their home and appreciate that you are invited to spend time with them. I usually never look around, I am a bit confusing at times, but shucks man, just love where you are at that moment. I went to see a Medical fellow once, his office was full of Persian carpets, small rugs on the cupboards, antiques. I was so fascinated and told him what a pleasure it is to be in this "consulting" room. He was a cheery as can be and thanked me for the compliments. I felt even better leaving as before I went inside. The fair had beautiful painted crockery, a weakness of mine, beautiful tableware. The get together went perfect, rowdy and most pleasant, a good start to the year. I am wanting an Orchid for the house, I killed 'all' the previous ones through ignorance!! Buying on-line is fine but the courier price is so high I can buy another plant for that price. Blessing upon blessing I found a local grower and my day is made. I will just buy "1" plant to start off with, and maybe another few. I just love all things beautiful, people, animals, plants and furnishings. It does not have to cost a fortune, my challenge is to buy and take care of it. As for now, all the very best, have a great day. Kind regards, Elize

Dearest Elize. Happy New Year from Colombe and much love and happiness! I too killed our orchids. 😮. I forgot to take them inside when we had frost…. I was mad at myself. 😂. Oh well……. We too love tableware and when we find things a that are affordable, we buy them. Otherwise, we only enjoy looking at them. Good luck with your new orchid. Love from Colombe ❤❤❤

Everything looked delicious..mmmmmm...yummie. You could see you all had a lot of fun. Glad you could use the fortune cookies. I hope you both got a great prediction for 2024. Hi Patrick and Stuart, More great recipes I'll have to try. Both are so simple to make, and they look delicious too. The antique market was interesting but not finding a bargin to buy can be dissapointing. You've had so much success shopping markets and brocante's before it shows your love of antiques and working them into the Chateau decor and design is a credit to your bargin hunting. I just love your recipes! l often make appetisers, Very similar to you. l put a teaspoon of pesto into the pastry case with a cherry tomato halved or a small piece of crispy parma ham and pour on the cream and eggs. Yummy!

Happy New Year! I love an appetizer night, because I love to try all the different foods without getting overly filled up. I always did that New years eve. I would make mini quiches, puff pastry assortments, shrimp, oysters, different cheeses etc. Then we always had some to nibble on all week. Which was great because it meant a break in cooking. Looking forward to see what you do in the year ahead. 😁

The food looked delishious and now I’m hungry 😂. The only thing I saw that piqued my interest at the antiques fair was the candlesticks behind the cow at about 15:33. I’m glad you all had a wonderful New Years!
