After Enlightenment? Love Deeply & Act Effectively ~ Shinzen Young

Shinzen weaves stories of the Ox herding pictures and various impressive Bodhisatvas - including a Holocaust survivor & activist, and a Marathon Monk that he has known and been influenced by, to get to the true point of this practice.

Here's a fun thing - pretend that every person you see (for a day in the "real world") is enlightened and is pretending that they are not just to mess with you. Fun!

Now, I am beginning to enter the market place to give whatever to others from the love inside, I understand the oxen's story parable and the different stages. I relate to them all. The empty one, eight, brings tears as does the ninth one. Maybe I am at the end of staying on the ox, it is tricky. But I am somewhere between 9 and 10 and I enjoyed hearing that oxen story because it so accurately describes the stages of enlightenment. I began in the psychological mode, working on eliminating my emotional baggage, so didn't really seek until much later...Thanks.

I feel like this video greatly broadened my horizons with regard to the world of meditation. The part about Fudo really shocked me.

Who is loving deeply and acting effectively? No one, because the self does not exist. Actions and thoughts happen. That is it.

Shinzen buddy how do I put this? A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT HELPING OTHER PEOPLE. That being said why the heck do I have to translate your stuff into catchy rock and roll songs? WHY ME? It's a lot easier to communicate noself when you assume that people are merely pretending to be clueless. Certainly you'll have a better time. Na-mas-tee.

Anyone heard Shinzen’s first experience of fully seeing the ox? I’d like to hear it if anyone has it.

when u truly become enlightened u realize most are not worthy of love or help, hence why so many yogi sit in a cave for years lol you become love but the world is still the world.
