    Hey Lee, I've been doing quite a lot of face animation lately in after effects, but involving z-depht simply by putting them in perspective as shown in your video at 0:45 and as I thought it was the subject in this tutorial considering the smoothness of your Catch animation. Anyway, if you do and when you do 3d layers animation, I was wondering if you were experiencing the same pain I'm in when I have to find the ideal spot for all the single layers, z position and scale talking or do you have a magic trick that would blow my mind? Another huge problem would be the fact that any change to my camera settings would alter the look of the face and show the empty spots...

    Hi, i will definitely tune in :-) What i am really wondering is: how you do set up your line work in Illustrator and then convert it, so that you have these great looking outlines in the Animated character in AE. I found some tutorials on how to use the track matte, but i can't get it to work. Would it be possible to make a tutorial about that?? Looking forward to your reply. Greets Lenny

    +LeeDanielsART also, if you read this, let me ask something...I don't know if already talk about this in a tutorial, but how large in resolution you usually do the drawings on photoshop files for the animations?

  • @LeeDanielsART

    @LeeDanielsART

    8 жыл бұрын

    Hey +Adriano Ott , sorry for the late reply. Size depends the resolution of your final video. If your video is 1920 x 1080 HD, your illustrations need to be at least that size to appear sharp. If you need them to scale up or move close to the screen, you need to make sure you create them at maybe double the size of the final video (2000px or 3000px high). That's a very short and basic answer to a very complicated subject. Hope it helps! ;)

    hi your video is good keep going like that . ..i have a question .if youmake me get rid out of this question i shall be very thank full to you .. question is that when i have rigged my character and done my key framing of some action then i will use this character in my new composition or my project .let supsose that i make a keyfram of walkcycle and then i put my character in new comp and he is walkin .now what i have to do is that.now i want any other action that my character will do .so what i have to do for this thing .can i go to previous comp to change my keframes and then i will drag and drop on a previous character on my project .if i will do new kefram of my previous characer then the keyfrem of my project character that i have used for walking are changed automatically ..simply .which is confusing me is that once i have done the keyfram of my action.and now i want any other action that my character have do .how can i use one characer to do multiple actions in a composition ..

    its a shame. It could be used for talking. I mucked about a little bit. But I checked his series he animated and he uses a combination of this technique and the normal simple way by the looks of it

    +David G Burns Hey Guys, sorry for the late reply. I do use this technique for lip-syncing. I usually set up all the mouth shapes at the start of the comp, then copy and paste them throughout as required. Yo can also set up a pre-omp and use time-remapping linked to a slider to choose the letters. Cheers!

    Can you create the characters in After Effects with tablets like Wacom, or you use another program, such as Photoshop and Illustrator, to create the characters and then port it into After Effects?

    +Void Hi, you can create stuff straight in after effects using shape layers & solids. But for more complex stuff it's best to use Illustrator or Photoshop in my opinion.
