My favorite singer of all time. Karen died in 1983, 6 years after I graduated high school. The carpenters were very popular when I was in my teens and beyond. She had a voice like no other. I cried the day she died and she'll always be missed. Hugs from Idaho, USA.

I remember when she died. I hadn't heard of anorexia before, so when I saw a recent picture of her it was big shock. It just goes to show that you never know what people are going through. You would think her life would have been perfect. She had the most beautiful voice ever, she was famous with adoring fans, etc. But in reality she was suffering. I read a book about her and she was not only extremely talented but a good person too. There were times she probably felt she had no control over her life (there are a few reasons that probably contributed to that.) Even all these years later it's still so sad. Atleast we have her music. You have to wonder what could have been.

She died many years ago but I've heard it said she is giving the Angel's singing lessons,I can easily believe that.

One of my favorites by the Carpenters. This song was constantly on the radio when I was in 6th grade. I had a massive crush on a girl at the time and this song always reminded me of her.

It really drives me crazy sometimes how everyone talks about Karen's voice, which is amazing of course, but they don't notice the orchestra playing the music. All arranged and led by Richard Cartenter. This should be listened to repeatedly until you have heard every nuance.
