It's a disrespect to African players who actually played in African continental football to name someone who played football in a less competitive Era, their best player, for winning a popular contest balon d or. It's total disrespect. Etoo played in a tougher Era, and won alot more than weah. At club level and international. Etoo took a relegated team mayorca to win a Copa d ray. Not even close. Litmanen as a midfielder had 12 more goals than him and he was a striker. Litmanen was robbed

Weah had exceptional talents and skills. The best ever from Africa and definitely one of the best in the world. Off the field he is a champion as well.

About ten years ago I saw George Weah at a supermarket car park in Surrey. He did not know me, yet he gave me a cheery wave and shouted "hello" . Class man. I remember his magnificent goal against Verona at the San Siro in 1996. My late father was having lunch whilst watching the game and when Weah ran the whole length of the pitch to score, my dad dropped his plate on the floor ! One of the best goals I have ever seen. Fabulous player, great man !!
