Africa, low vaccination, covid over.

Despite very low vaccination rates, Uganda is now essentially over the pandemic. Do watch this video, we in the West can learn a lot.

Only if you survive the infection. So there is a difference in acknowledging natural immunity when it is already a fact when people already got infected and survived as in now and when people don't have any background immunity and might die from it It depends on how deadly the virus is and how many people already have been infected and survived. The immune system didn't work for black death or small pox for Native people. Africa has very low life expectancy so people who would have died from cov might have already been weeded out by other easily survivable diseases in rich countries. Don't take things on face value.

Going by that logic why have medicine or indeed any technology at all? Just let nature take its course and celebrate the last person standing and that's it. What amazes me is that people believed that immunity could change so much in this one case. Either that, or because the MSM avoided talking about natural immunity, they forgot everything they ever learned in school about natural immunity & how resilient the human body is. Here in Australia we have approximately 95% vaccination rate. That's A LOT of people that are far too easily convinced, coerced & forced to put an experimental vaccine into their bodies, which had little to no effect on stopping them from getting covid &/or one the many & varied side effects associated with them. Sadly, I believe that with such high levels of obedience from the general populus, they'd rather not know the truth & just move on with life. Little do they realise, or care probably, that those who chose not to vaccinate are still being restricted by our choices, even though we made the right one. Sucks huh?

Rather than just being something that allows them to go into a restaurant or travel they are probably now wondering whether it may cause them harm but are pushing that from their thoughts. I don't condemn anyone who took it. After all the psychological tactics and coercion from governments including the UK where I live it was hard to resist. I think history, if told honestly, will record this period as the most unspeakable, immoral and criminally malign act perpetrated by Western governments on their own citizens in history.

Even in the best of times. Considering 6.5M deaths officially attributed to Covid vs anything from 15M-27M excess deaths, reporting discrepancy is just as bad as was warned about when all this started - based on historical pandemics we knew this would happen. Obviously not all are attributable to Covid, but a hell of a lot more than official numbers indicate. India officials said their delta numbers are 10x as high as the graph says. Western problems with obesity, diabetes and so on, are partly countered by having better and more available health care. It's too easy to just blame it all on bad habits. If we behaved better, especially the US behaved exceptionally bad in places, there would be less spread which in turn would lead to less deaths.

Another South African here; confirming Greg's comment - it's actually weird seeing someone with a mask. We are sort of between West and Uganda. A little bit less than a third of our population is "fully vaxed" - that is either one J&J or two Pfizers as far as I have it (not boosted). There were several big companies/institutions trying to force employees to vax (and I actually resigned from my position as university lecturer because of it), but it was never forced by state law (as in parts of US for example). Hope you enjoy your visit to our beautiful continent, dear Dr John, and bless you, Mr Wewafwa. Edit: I also saw the same trend here with working class people often fairing better than middle class people; my guess would be diet, exercise and being breastfed as babies. I really wish they did a study comparing all the negative impacts lockdown had on people, as opposed to the lives that were saved due to them. How on earth can one disease be more important than job losses, small businesses closing temporarily & permanently, financial constraints due to being a non essential worker, mental health risks, suicide escalation, increase in domestic violence, disruption to children's education, funds diverted to covid research & vaccination creation & away from diseases that still kill more people than covid ever did or will, increase of people on the poverty line & living rough/homeless......& the list goes on. I'm sure it could be empirically proven that the costs of lockdown far outweighed any benefit. I'd also love to see a study done on those who chose not to vaccinate & their general health over the next few years. I'd take part for sure. I have noticed that both of my kids, 18 & 16, have been unusually sick this year, picking up pretty much every cough & cold that's around. Both are double vaxxed & I really have to wonder if there is any correlation. I am 49, unvaxxed, though I did contract covid in March this year, I have had a phlegmy persistent cough for 2 weeks since then with no chest infection or days in bed at all & that's it. Meanwhile my daughter appears continuously sick, with a cough & snotty nose & my son has been sick in waves, sick for 3 weeks, well for 4, sick for 2 1/2 weeks, well for 3, & so on & so forth. They are teenagers & should have a far stronger immune system than I do but the opposite is true. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I'd love to see a general health overlay of all vaccinated people compared to unvaxxed & whether there is much difference in overall health. Jyst a thought.

Great interview and of significant importance! Here is a theory to entertain, the western world suffers from a "Processed Foods" addiction which is determental to the equilibrium of our natural health system. A bio-chemical system that is easily thrown out of balance by wrong lifestyles and the chemical contents of these processed foods, which in a sense you cannot really call food at all. A strong immune system is attained by a proper lifestyle and REAL foods. Those lovely poor people in Africa, as it turns out that cannot afford western chemical foods, had a strong natural defense against this vir**us that is clearly our first line of protection. Eat natural and simple for God-given natural health.

A lot of families are probably going to need firewood to keep themselves in the winter as the gas prices continue to soar. But for us in Africa, life organic and free range. If I gas to cook, fine. If not, I get firewood and cook outside and will still enjoy my meal without problems. But you can't do this in the UK because you are "too organized" and controlled heavily by the government.

Natural immunity is, and always was, a viable route to ending a pandemic. It's sad that we voluntarily "forgot" this during the recent events. Vaccination was always a better fit for people with high mortality risks from the virus, not necessarily for the entire population. Not only was that how we exited pandemics throughout history, before the relatively recent invention of vaccines, but vaccines themselves depend on a functioning immune system (capable of mounting a natural immune response) in order to be effective... I'm glad that we are slowly rediscovering things we've known for a long time, but recently "forgot". 🤔

Nope, in most poor 3rd world countries people tend have a shorter life expectancy, and we know Coronavirus disproportionally effects the elderly. UK citizens have a median age of 40.6 years. Ugandan citizens have an astonishingly low median age of just 15.7 years (the second lowest in the world after Niger where the average age is just 14.8 years). Are you now able to work out why Uganda has been much less effected ?

Africa will avoid the long-term vaccine injuries, too. They have done a good job limiting the reach of western pharmaceutical companies - that's all. Western medicine should be thoroughly embarrassed and permanently discredited by the African model.

@@kensonnezumi all jokes aside, this is increasingly becoming the situation. You must appreciate that spike protein-shedding in areas where vaccination rates are high is additionally causing issues for the unvaccinated. Additionally, the leaky vaccines which only cover a mere 5% of the virus are giving a great deal of wiggle room for the virus to develop resistance and for new strains to become a problem. Sorry to say but the vaccinated are increasing the spread of the virus and of new variants.

I have to say, I do appreciate the discussions happening all over this thread. They are thought-provoking. I do wish there were studies performed with those who were infected with the original strain and then where they are today in terms of overall health, reinfection rate and whether or not they received vaccinations. I did a contact tracing stint during the delta wave and I couldn’t help but be fascinated as the symptom progression drastically changed with the prevalence of the omicron variant. It was a breath of relief (both literally and figuratively) because it was rough interviewing such sick patients with the delta strain.
