The Afikpo Age Grade System transition is a period where different age grades usually receive promotion to different grades.
For instance, the Isi Elia will receive promotion to Ekpuke Eto. Nde Eto will be promoted to Ekpuke Esaa. Esaa has two grades: Upper Esaa and Lower Esaa.
The Lower Esaa (3 age-sets) will move to Upper Esaa. The Upper Esaa which is also known as Nde Ichie will move to Onikara.
Nde Onikara will move to Horii while Nde Horii will move to Rikwerii.
