Age grade is an association of people of equal or about the same age, operating within a given territory or area with the aim of individual, collective and societal transformation.
On 20th April, 2024, the Afikpo people celebrated the promotion of different age grades to higher ones.
The change of guard or authority is usually characterized with the promotion of new set of age grade officers to different grade ranks.
And the ceremony is done once in eight years.
