It's particularly funny when people say they 'abandoned their roots' even though Davey has said in interviews that he has always loved electronic music and that when they created the band (when he was 15) they didn't have the knowledge or means to create electronic music, so obviously they had to go with their other love, this. Who knows? they might be inspired once again like the misfits inspired them when they made the band, but since THEY ARE THE BAND, they'll make the decision. BSIDES, JUST BE HAPPY AFI IS STILL TOGETHER AS A BAND (mostly in part because they're good people and respect others, including themselves. I betcha once they quit everyone will be crying and regret all the bad stuff their (loyal?) fans said about them

What kind of argument is that? No, absolutely not. Because when you do, you've become a blind fanboy. You should like a band because you like their Music. Not just praise everything that comes from that band because you're a fan. If that band suddenly starts creating bad music in your opinion, you don't need to accept the new material at all. Then you should just go "well, too bad they suck now, I'll just stick with their good old material".
@dennislyons7158
6 жыл бұрын
Richydudeman I agree with you totally cuz my favorite band is Black Sabbath and that is the Black Sabbath of the 1970s with Ozzy in it. and I will accept for Heaven and He'll and a couple of songs off of Born Again but that's it and there are a couple of those old Sabbath songs that I say SUCK but they have memories behind them but I only listen to what I like from them and as for AFI I'm going to get my guitar new strings and I'm going to learn some of their songs cuz in my opinion they fucking rock. And I'm not much of a punk rocker but I am turning into one cuz I didn't give it a chance when I was young except I love the Ramones always have and compared to AFI they aren't very good really but I still like to jam on Ramones cuz I can actually play their songs!! But when I was growing up there was a guy in the crowd I wan with where everybody had long hair and we all had hot rod cars and wit leather jackets and had shotty motor bikes that barely ran and this guy I knew had a problem with one of the guys that hung with the punk rocker kids so that bullshit made it so we all hated each other cuz those two dudes didn't get along and a few of the punk kids were friends of mine when I was younger and the funny thing is they all had short hair they wore the same leather jackets and drove the same shotty kinds of bikes and beat up old family cars from the 60s and 70s with the same mag rims and header exhaust pipes as we did that instantly transformed a 1968 Impala into a Friday night dragster!! Man I had a ton of fun in the 1980s!!! But I don't have the Kick ass punk rock of the times in my memory that I wish I had, because of two dick heads that probably loved each other secretly!! But I'm picking up on as much good punk as I can these days. but its mostly 90s punk which is totally cool with me!! There's a song from Transistor Revolt that fucking rocks and is pretty fun to play called

People shouldn't be so hard on it. Check out the song "The Missing Man" on the missing man EP. Different music, but imo just as good as this. Just different.
Happy Halloween, everyone!
1st October...
awesome song!!!
its hallows eve! one more day to go! the dead will come to life!

Happy Halloween everyone 🎃
I am so tired of everyone bitching about the old and new AFI. Who knows? they might be inspired once again like the misfits inspired them when they made the band, but since THEY ARE THE BAND, they'll make the decision. BSIDES, JUST BE HAPPY AFI IS STILL TOGETHER AS A BAND (mostly in part because they're good people and respect others, including themselves. I betcha once they quit everyone will be crying and regret all the bad stuff their (loyal?) fans said about them
Spooky month is here
I LIKE A LOT THIS SING, WHEN I LISTEN I THINK I WERE IN A DARK PUMPKIN FIELD, I LOVE THIS ALBUM OF AFI
looking this album up cause I just found a vintage fall children tee
horror punk.
Happy Halloween ;)
@Dustin795 nope bsides my fav album is art of drowning and my fav ep is all hallows ep. i don't know why maybe cuz they're the first albums i heard
Have a happy birthday
@IScreamForiIceCream nothing gold can stay
song at the end?
I feel bad for all these young whiper snappers...they totally missed it. however, i will always be a fan
You know what guys... I agree. Old AFI is totally better. But i discovered AFI from their december underground album. and to me. A Fire Inside will never burn out. All AFI is good.
Truth
I had a kid with another DFer, does that make her a fall child?
Happy October everyone! -_- \m/
I dedicate this song to Ed Gein.
fastcarsnguitars1 your comment made me laugh so hard... lol back in my day when dinosaurs walked the earth lmao
Its humorous that about 10 years ago the guy working at the record store told me not to buy this album and get their older, older music. I think this is their best era of music but I'm sure someone 10 years younger would prefer the miss murder stuff and when they change their sound again will be saying the same thing. Punk Rock is Dead!!! and no one attended the funeral.
@Anakin3335 Lol i thought i was inconceivable yet we have identical visions when we hear this song! Alright man!!!
🤟🏼😎
Little Danzig influence 💀
lol their 2004 greatest hits album was released by dexter holland (offspring frontman and nitro records owner) against their will, read the fine print boys
I'm a fall child 😁
WORDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!
Awesome. Nothin' better than AFI. And I don't care what you guys say, most of the stuff they put out now is still better than that other shit that's floating around in the metaphorical toilet of the music scene, this day and age. I say bring back punk! Which is what I'd do, if the idiot musicians these days near my age weren't so Paramore-y. Blech.
@HolyTravis it should be the other way around
hApPy hAlLoWeEn eVeRyBoDy ! ! !
song of my death
@fastcarsnguitars1 Punk's not dead man! its Underground where it belongs!! >:D
How old are you?
PUSH...
Comment 101 🤯
What kind of argument is that? No, absolutely not. Because when you do, you've become a blind fanboy. You should like a band because you like their Music. Not just praise everything that comes from that band because you're a fan. If that band suddenly starts creating bad music in your opinion, you don't need to accept the new material at all. Then you should just go "well, too bad they suck now, I'll just stick with their good old material".

There's a song from Transistor Revolt that fucking rocks and is pretty fun to play called
not to sound like a poser er anything. but i was playin guitar hero and i played miss murder. i thought it was a good song so i listened to some more of their shit and yeah i can say that this old stuff beats the shit outta miss murder
What I wanna know is who the fuck clicked the dislike button?

Eh, I'd outgrown their demographic by the time Sing The Sorrow came out. There were some decent tracks on there but I wasn't feeling it that much.

Sing the sorrow wasn't terrible but I guess we all got our opinions.
OG AFI, not sell-out emo shit...passion, hardcore, originality. I miss these days
omg...people are still responding to that comment i wrote over two years ago, more like 3 or 4 actually, idk why it's saying i posted it two years ago... regardless, can people please stop responding to it as if i posted it yesterday....respond if you want but please consider how long ago it was written holy shit.
i disagree. what is the meaning of ''they suck'' in my opinion everybody makes music the whay they feel and how they want to make it , you cant please everyone around you, sometime you just have to make music to yourself. open your mind and lear to listen to new stuff .
