This was my first AFI song and still my favorite. I saw them live in Edmonton Alberta when The Art of Drowning came out... So amazing.
The drum intro! I used to have this as my alarm to wake up in the mornings.
The song that got me into AFI....This one hits like no other 🔥
REMEMBER WHEN!?
Playing Tony Hawk in my friends room as kids obsessed with AFI and hearing this song in the game 🥰🥰🥰🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇
Missing their old sound so much but I have made the decision to listen to all the 2020s albums of all my old favorite bands and I shall do it! Still, I hear one of their older songs and I immediately feel relieved and happy

I finally heard the voice within the fire inside me, i will always be loyal to you Davey, Jade, Hunter, Adam. Thank you for all these years. Forever yours.
Oh come on this needs to crack 1 mil AT LEAST!!!
I've seen these guys a bunch of times live but when they toured with rancid right around 2000 ish. That was amazing. The energy they had and the energy the crowd threw back at them was fucking insane.
Still come here remembering Rodney mullen going hard to this which is one of many roads leading to AFI greatness

iconic drum intro
this is the song that played in my head during the hour long ride from town where there used to be a blockbuster, after renting THPS3 miss the 2000's
The tree of America punk and hardcord is alive, as long as we feed the roots.
I love Davey's voice here. I'm kinda new to AFI so I don't know what their later stuff sounds like but I'm really digging their old Skate punk sound
Horror punk era AFI, was easily them at their peak in my opinion, like legit, tho this whole post hardcore thing the band is doing now I rlly like too

I don't think it's that easy tbh. Bands usually change style when they run out of ideas. Every band has finite amount of creativity in one style. That's why it's so common for musicians to convert a lot.

@@eb-er9zg i will say that Crash Love translated well in a live setting. That album was some of their best audio production, from a technical standpoint. Thinking about it now, i need to go and listen to all their recent albums, Burials and the Blood album. Even their recent EP

their roots are the same as always. they've been drawing inspiration from hte same artists forever as well as new ones they get into. change happens. they evolved for the best. i miss the fuck out of hte "old" afi too but it's still the same band. davey's voice changed and you KNOW if they went back to playing ONLY that style, it wouldn't be the same. let it stay golden. they are making the best of their talents, and, have produced their music mostly thier own, even now! the most help they've had as far as that goes, is when Butch vig and Jerry Finn stepped in with Sing the Sorrow. It's not about going "back" to their roots, it's just that people miss the old sound and think it's okay to shit on their name and hard work just because it's not hardcore punk anymore.

Once there was boy who had vibrant glow, but as it goes, someone took it from him. One day through the rain I heard him meekly moan, he said "Will you wrap your arms around me as I'm falling?" Remember when Remember when Remember when we were all so beautiful? Never Again Never Again But since then we've lost our glow. They said it hurt their eyes but he would never know that they were filled with regret as their own dissipated. He said, "I now feel more desperately alone, even though they wrapped their arms around me as I'd fallen." Remember when Remember when Remember when we were all so beautiful? Never Again Never Again But since then we've lost our glow. Remember when Remember when Remember when we were all so beautiful? Never Again Never Again But since then we've lost our glow. They said it hurt their eyes, but he would never know that they were claiming regret as their own... their own dissipated.
