@@user-ye3sz1nh8u What? Has Afghanistan ever qualified for the Asian Cup? How can a team ranked 158th be good at football? They have players from semi-pro euro leagues. Amiri, who is their most experienced player could not even continue in the ISL even though he has played for many Indian clubs in the last decade or so. They are competitive yes but that doesn't make them a good football playing country. Not even India is a good football playing country. We are just more competent than Afghanistan in terms of talent or ranking.

Problem lies in our footballing fundamentals, which works when kid is 5 or 10 years old. No coach in the world gonna make them suddenly better than a player who's been playing top level since he was a kid

He has been searching for quality in both these competitions. ISL followers have more tactical knowledge than head coach --- OKAY COOL!!! Ill tell you what the problem is - Players are used to playing styles of their Isl clubs right now. It takes time to adjust to our national teams playing style. You have to unlearn what isl club coach taught you and remember what igor stimac taught. Habits dont change that easily. If you remember our national teams form in june july was much better than today. Thats because they trained under stimac for months. There was no ISL in june. Our players had time to player together. Now they play both ISL and national team. It takes time to adjust for players. Its not players fault nor coaches fault. We are going to qualify for 3rd round. So dont worry.

He was never successful coach in any team. He was fired less than one year in every team he coached. Just go to Wikipedia page and read his managerial history. When he never given success to any team he coached how he can give success to Indian team. Just watch his interview on revaports, you will understand my anger. He said in interview, he doesn't watch I league. He lie to teeth. Every team in the club level play different football, but they can perform. It's just igor's excuse. Let me tell you what was problem in afg match. He started with back 4 and 2 defensive midfielder. And made chettri attacking midfielder. Chettri never drop down. It was never his style. It was already shown in his club matches but igor don't watch isl. Due to it, there was no midfielder in Central pitch for India. Jeakson and apuia are good but their passing is not great. And in forward we have 4 attacker with no ball supply. Igor always go for wings never central channel so called fake possession based football. Afganistan coach analysed his tacticts. He just blocked wing backs and game over. We didn't put any player for central channel and play making. Igor don't know players playing style. He treating Indian team coaching job as government job. I am following him from 2019 and i know his history. He is more corrupt than praful patel.

Igor Stimac said in 2019 that all Indian players are eligible for selection yet he has not selected even 1 player from I-League. If we are going to produce such embarrasing performances then atleast field I-League players and Santosh trophy players. I beg you Stimac to not select Chettri anymore. Indian Football needs to look for future.

So now India 1st string players are equal to Afghanistan 2nd string players. AIFF, ISL and Indian Mens Team now officially has become the joke, that we all once talked about in passing.

Chhetri should now create space for young players. He is not helping the system anymore. The coach can give more chances to the likes of Vikram or Colaco in his place. In our football history, we always had at least one proven goalscorer. Not anymore. If there is no number 9 then why can't we play a false 9? Sahal/Vikram can play that role. We need goals from wingers and midfield. Apuia is a good shot. He needs more freedom to play his game.

because its their lowest point, i think in the last 10-15 years(of which most of the time spent bottom of the rankings). even if they start investing heavily and training a new set of players now to replace ageing Chhetri & co., in the most optimistic case itll take 5 years to see these young grassroots players even come up to the level of the old team the federation had years to move the ISL forward and skim the new top talent into the national team. subpar stadiums, poor broadcast quality, boring commentators on top of poor performance=no public interest. not to mention the lacking training infrastructure. mismanagement and corruption drove everything into the ground. there is not even a financial incentive to invest into football as the public interest in club/national football is barely growing-you need to have a good team to pack stadiums and sell jerseys. FFS there is a big football culture in some parts of the country but no real investment from the top. the dream of indian national football is over.

Chhetri is finished, but we have no quality strikers in the ISL. Have we considered looking in the I-League though? Pretty sure you will find a regular starter there who plays striker. Also it’s been 6 years of Stimac managing this team, yet our tactics are still get the ball out wide and deep, cross and pray. This is not Afghanistan’s main team either, how are we playing like that against them? I’ve seen better quality of football from Hyderabad FC this season than the national team. Absolute joke of a team and AIFF needs serious investigating if we don’t qualify for the next round.

Agree! And there is no shortage of Strikers/Players in India. But Igor don't trust them and keep saying it is part of process. Yes agree he changed us to possession game, but we need to move on. Half of the players currently do not have that skills to leap to the next level. So it is important to bring new faces asap. Sticking to Chettri, Sandesh, Aniket, Thapa, Manvir, Nikhil Pujary, Rahul Bheke etc are not going to take us to next level. Yesterday there were quality players on the bench but not fielded. Bring in Imran, Jay Gupta, Isak, Nandha, Gurkirat, David (I league), Naufal(I league), Sanan etc and see them how they do. It's Better to Try and Fail than to Never Try at All

I think we need to give young players a chance. Its time maybe for capt. Chetrri, but we badly miss ashique, sahal etc. New coach is needed. Igor did improve the team but, i think his limits has been reached. Bringing IOC players is a joke even they cannot get us qualified for sure. Qualification should not just be the aim, we have to improve grassroot level.We have a lot of home talents but we don't have facilities. Football is not an easy game, even Germany gave bad performances lately compared to their standards they drew to weaker teams. Isl is dumb league, players are only one game per week, Europeans play atleat 2.5 games per week.. So lot of areas to focus. Player's are good but not enough tactics by the coach and maybe players are confused... We have to wait patiently... Egypt for example even after being one of best in africa always don't get chance to play in WC... Even if we qualify we will get run over by swiss or croatia(one 20th our size or population )7-0 maybe if we are not play defensive, do you actually want that?? Playing wc is just a single acheivement, but improving grassroot level is required. Good food, facilities, rewards, payment and assuring players a good future. Current players can't be blamed.. Our football infrastructure needs to improve and should be able to attract players.
