Never heard of slip joint pliers being referred to as mole grips before. Mole grips are a completely different animal!

Some more nice bits of kit here Dan. A shame the LED lamp didn't have a rechargeable feature, but with a flat Lipo battery from an eCig with a rechargeable PCB unit it might be possible to modify the lamp and fit into the battery compartments. I've these items here if you want to give it a try? I like the ratchet and bit set too.

I'd like to see how effective that flexible drive shaft it. Looks bit flimsy. Most DIY'ers have these tools already but they may need new ones after a few years of course. This guy's house will soon be full of tools! My wife wouldn't have that.

The recessed corners on the plastic storage box lids are for you to cut out so small parts can be dispensed by shaking the boxes into the hand. Handy if you want to measure the contents out gradually.

Could do with one off those lights wouldnt mind that bit set either , good video i do like these aldi and lidl tool videos

When I was a courier I always carried a bin full of tools and spares with oil etc and I never needed them. Until one day I took them out and for some strange reason, the door became loose and I ended up having to tie it on to stopmit coming loose. Proof if any needed, that fate is just waiting for you to do something you shouldn't. Like the one and only day I had a bit of arthritis in my foot so I wore some soft plastic shoes and taking a job to Rolls Royce at Derby, was refused the delivery because I wasn't wearing steel toecap workshoes. Never play the fate game.

Even if they do degrade after a few years, £3.00 for a hand tool is almost a disposable price anyway. Paying a fortune may get you a longer lasting tool, but is not neccesarily better value for money. This is rather an aca demic point to me anyway;- my problem is my lack of skill in using them. Abeter tool won't improve that.

As you are showing off your purchases it would be a good idea to call them by the correct names!!!! Mole grips ain't pipe wrenches and believe it or not pipe.wrenches ain't mole grips!!

I'm annoyed that I missed the opportunity to by a dremel-like saw just before Xmas from Lidl, I'm sure they'll have it again it's just a question of when.

Last wednesday from my local Lidl.

Your first tool I find a bit odd. Why is it a Phillips? and not pozi drive? Philips is more an American thing. the norm in. most screws throughout Britain and Europe is Posse Drive. The rest of the stuff you showed seems very good value for money. I'm not sure, but I think I saw written on the packet that you can get the box stuff online. But I might be mistaken.

Philips and Pozi-drive are two of several variants of cross-head screw types. I sometimes wonder whether new screw heads are invented to sell more tools ?

at 7.41...do not buy this crap. Ratchet and Bit set. The HOLDER for the bits, the most important part is NOT magnetic. The bit holder has one of thiose steel spring clips inside, this ALWAYS falls out, lost and your but set is scrap. The bits do NOT hold in the bit holder and fall out when you go to use them.
