When I moved to LA I asked the butcher for steak tips, he didn't know what it was and suggested tri-tip, not the same at all. Thanks for making this video, I've been dying for some good tips.

Not just a New England thing, they're everywhere. But outside of NE and the Mid Atlantic they call them Steak Bites. I'm in VA and they're Steak Tips here too. Literally have the same Wellesley Farms tips in my fridge right now (also from BJs).

Great video. I moved from Boston to Florida. No steak tips down here. I did find Flap steak. Love your tenderizing tip. Three quick questions, can you recommend a good steakhouse marinade, how long do you marinate it for, and why don’t you cut them before you cook them? Thanks again for the video. Subscribed.

We don't have a specific steakhouse marinade offhand but nates terryiaky is really good, link to it here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nKONrdeiY66Xqdo.html. We usually marinate for 8 hours or so. Nate doesn't cut them into tips before cooking because it's easier to keep them rare when they are larger. The smaller u cet them the easier it is to overcook them. It's also less items to keep track of flipping 😁 Hope this helps!

Hi Marty! Thanks for taking the time to comment and for watching our channel! The knife is nothing special, it's a wustoff (sp?) boning knife I bought over 20 years ago. The trick I use to keep it sharp is a diamond studded sharpener. I hit all my knives with about 10 strokes per side every time I take them out. check out this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/o56puMp_iNi9qLg.html Griddle on bud! -N

For sure. Pat it dry, season then get a nice sear on both sides and throw it in the oven to get up to temp. It will cook quick so keep an eye on it. 350° or so. Good luck..
