He saw a hot blonde girl in a bar. She turned around and it wasn't a girl. It was vince neil from motley crue. That's why he wrote the song.

The other story they always tell is they were out with Vince and Tommy one night and every other word out of their mouth was "dude".

Steven Tyler is the lead singer. They have a treasure grove of hits. Their earlier stuff was the best. The song with Run DMC was Walk This Way. You mentioned him looking old, he's most likely in his early 70's now.

Aerosmith's catalogue??? Ummm... YES!! Dive in Biz, they have tons of hits. You may even recognize a few that have been sampled for movies and by other artists. Start with some of their early stuff like "Dream On", "Sweet Emotion" or "Back In The Saddle" and DEFINATELY do Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" original 1975 version BEFORE doing the collaboration version of it with Run DMC. SIDE NOTE: Steven Tyler may have always looked old, but he got all the girls. ;) His song "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" was written for the hit movie "Armageddon" and it stars Bruce Willis and Liv Tyler (Steven's daughter)....

This song was done in 1987 for the movie Mrs. Doubtfire lol. XOXO please play more of them and play Sweet Emotion, and Jamie's got a gun video. Start with the early days. And Walk this way is their own song and due to drugs and alcohol they went to rehab so in order to get back on track they redid Walk this way with Run DMC

Just finished the vid... The look on your face at the end was TOO FUNNY!!! Now, You asked so... This song was inspired by Motley Crue's lead singer Vince Neil. The story is, Steven Tyler had gone into a club one night and saw a good looking woman at the end of the bar with teased-up blonde hair, black nails, jewelry and a nice "shape". Then the "woman" turned around and he saw that this beautiful woman he'd been eyeing was actually Vince Neil!!! He and his buddies were shocked and were all like, "My God, that dude looks like a lady"! Bahaha!! :) :) The rest of the story is history....

This song is off the Permanent Vacation album which was their comeback album in the late 80's. After being a huge band Steven Tyler & the lead guitarist Joe Perry were known as the Toxic Twins & the band felll apart from drug use. But this was truly a comeback & just got bigger. Please check out "love in an elevator", "ragdoll", "Janie's got a gun" & "come together" a Beatle's cover. Thx.

First saw Aerosmith about three weeks after Toys In The Attic, their third album, was released in 1975-, in Manchester, New Hampshire. It was their "homecoming" show after their first big national tour. Talk about energy and an aura of excitement, the venue was alive. Seen them ten times since, always great, the boys know how to rock the house, and whatever else you've got. The best way to describe Steven Tyler's lyrics is "Sleazy, with a side of humor." Just so you have their names, after Tyler there is Joe Perry - Guitar, Brad Whitford - Guitar, Tom Hamilton - Bass and Joey Kramer - Drums. There are occasional guest and Joe and Brad left for a while in the early 80's, but they reunited. I saw their comeback show at the Manning Bowl in Lynn, Mass. in 1985, crazy, crazy, crazy.

Aerosmith, Walk This Way, followed by colab Walk This Way, Run DMC!!! I feel the song is about how you sometimes cannot tell who is under those clothes! He says, "never judge a book by its cover ". But remember art is subjective, it may be different is someone else's interpretation.

Aerosmith's first 5 albums were all fire, then the drugs took them to the edge of the abyss. (Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were known as the Toxic Twins) Beginning with the album Permanent Vacation, after they cleaned up they had more MTV friendly hits. Their 4th album, Rocks, is my personal favorite and would be a great album to do track by track.

Hell yeah Aerosmith is worth the time and effort! He also has 2 beautiful daughters, one's an actress, "Liv Tyler" and his other daughter is a model, "Mia Tyler". He has other children of course, but those two are the best known. Steven is a performer and sometimes in his videos he comes across as somewhat endogenous. But make no mistake, he is a musical mastermind and all man. lol So many people lost their shit when this video came out, but you really need to check the songs history. it's really very funny. PEACE!!!

Hi Sheila!! I told him about Liv and the movie too.... told him about the song Aerosmith wrote for Liv's movie "Armageddon". I hope he does that one too someday! I love that song and they did such a good job with the video! Seeing Liv touching the screen with tears in hers eyes makes me tear up too! If I remember right, in the music video they make it seem like she's reaching to touch Steven's face on the TV monitor. (I could be wrong about that) It's beautiful either way! :)

Steen Tyler is the lead singer. and he is old. lol. It is hard to find a bad song by them. Yes they did one of the very first rock/rap mixes with Run DMC and it was of course amazing. Run DMC was amazing before that vid, too, though. they also did the theme song for the movie Armageddon! Tyler's daughter, Liv Tyler, is a movie actress and been in some of his vids when she was in her teens. Tis song is about hitting on some hot chick and realizing it was not a chick at all... to each their own! "Janie's Got A Gun" has to be their best and most serious song.

  • @danielmiller8156

the song is talking about crossdressing, but the history and reasoning behind it are something else. Back in the day, Tipper Gore . Al Gore's wife .. spearheaded an assault against rock and metal bands using christian ethics and the support of various church organizations. It was an attempt to sensor the look, sound, and lyrics portrayed in music produced and sold in America. Attempting to ban and age restrict very specifically Metal and Rock music. Of the many accusations against rock bands included Satanic Worship and men dressing as women as part of their album art and also on stage. Not being idiots, music saw the negative publicity as a new selling point and many bands fought back with blatant use of questionable artwork in their albums and flaunting the very thing they was accused of. Motley Crue came out with the song Shouting at the Devil Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourn came out with Mister Crowley (song title inspired by the then famous head of the Satanic Church of New York) Van Halen came out with Running with the Devil Iron Maiden did Number of the Beast Aerosmith did Dude Looks Like a Lady and in Congress, at the Congressional hearing, The senate heads were outmatched by their own rules by Dee Snyder, the lead singer for the band Twisted Sister, a band very famous for being all male and dressing like cheap prostitutes complete to the garish makeup on their faces. More than I wanted to say, can't blame you if you don't read it all. Still only a very small part of the history.
