Yeah, I was going to say, technically it was released in '73, but it was written in the 60's!

For all the people that doesnt know. Eminem uses this songs sample in his "Sing for the moment" song. Absolute banger both of the songs.

There is 70's Aerosmith and there is 80's Aerosmith and though I am glad they were able to reinvent and survive this long - I don't think I need to tell which Aerosmith is best!

There is a whole lot more to Aerosmith than power ballads. To fully experience Aerosmith, you need to listen to some of their 70's hard rock songs. "Walk This Way" is their biggest hit of that era and genre, but "Sweet Emotion" and "Nobody's Fault" are good examples as well.

🤘🏼💕 One of the best songs of all time…as a Tori Amos fan you owe it to yourself to listen to her cover of it… if you listen to it from the beekeeper tour live, you get to hear her tell the story of how Aerosmith protected her little girl during a blackout one night when they were on tour in Detroit!

Aerosmith great rock band from the 70's. Need to react to AC/DC - AC/DC - Thunderstruck (Live At River Plate, December 2009)

It’s amazing how clean Steven Tyler’s voice is in this recording. It doesn’t have the raspiness and the trademark sound that he developed later in his career. Though there are definitely recordings of this song out there that were done later that have that sound in it.

I love Aerosmith and this song, but I have a "misheard lyrics" confession to make about this one: (1973-74) I used to think he was singing "Sing WOMEN, sing for the year; Sing for the laughter, sing VOLUNTEER". There I was, a young woman of 9-10 yrs. old, complying and voluntarily singing along 🤣 . It's still hard for me not hear what I thought I heard when it's actually "Sing with me, sing for a year, Sing for the laughter, and sing for the tear" 😂😂

Nothing country about this. Maybe it's reminding you of something else? This is considered a 70s rock masterpiece.

I have a coworker who grew up more with 70s rock (I'm 80s rock) and while he likes Pink Floyd, The Who, Black Sabbath and Van Halen, he hates Aerosmith. I dont get it. 🤣 this song was their 1st single released in '72

The end of his voice? More like the beginning of his real voice. Steven himself doesn’t like how he sounds on the first 2 albums. He was not sure if he could sing so he changed his voice to what he called his “Kermit the Frog” voice. The raspy voice is his real voice and has held up incredibly well for 50 years, and still going. I much prefer the raspy voice.
