I wear these almost all my waking hours. Being blind, my phone is always talking to me, and I don't want the world hearing it. I can use voice assistant anywhere, and the main thing is still being able to hear the environment, cars coming, and conversations without having to remove my headphones! They're brilliant - can't recommend highly enough.

That’s why I bought them , I work in a noisy environment , my hearing is shot , people say bad hearing,, buy these , I will let yu know if they work ,, . I’m an aircraft inspector , I only have voice tones , no highs , no Lowe’s ,

To update I bought them for my mother who is going deaf. Didn't work for her, it depends on the type of hearing loss someone has. If the Cochlea itself is damaged then it won't work. This only serves to bypass the eardrum and small bones, or if someone has excessive earwax etc.

@@bigfatlie My Corsair K63 Wireless Keyboard goes from Red to Green when charging, and so does the LED charge indicator on my Galaxy S9+ along with the wireless charging dock I have for it and my Gear S3. Red to Green is pretty common.

I've never seen a bluetooh audio device that goes red - green. They all go red - blue. Dunno if that's kinda a hommage to BT but red - blue are the standard led colors for BT audio devices.

@@Clay3613 Depends what type of hearing damage it is. If the damage is to the eardrum or the ear bones, then yes, these would be quite good. However, a considerable number of cases of hearing damage is caused by damage to the cochlea, and for a person with that, these headphones will be equally useless.

I've got the Trekz Titanium headphones. Great for running without having to worry about having a car sneak up on me. Useless in the gym because, as you mentioned, noisy environments drown them out. And they are also handy when I want to listen to some music in the office without subjecting my coworkers to whatever I'm jamming out to in our cube farm.

I was literally looking at these last night and looking through reviews, glad I waited as I wouldn't trust anyone else half as much.

Love AfterShokz, it lets me as a train driver be attentive to everything around me while having a podcast playing

One thing these would be good for, and I don't know if you touched on it, but regular headphones don't provide hearing protection like a pair of ear plugs would. So if you're in a really loud environment where damage to your hearing might occur(construction and whatnot) , this might be a good pair of headphones for that. That is, if you could still hear them

so funny you've just reviewed these, i got them four weeks ago on a family holiday in Tokyo and was wondering if you would pick up a set! I find exactly like you, these are a brilliant headset for the car, but also great for me to listen to music whilst in the office, and that way i can still hear things going on around me. And they're surprisingly comfortable, about four times now i've panicked, and looked around my desk for them, only to find i was actually wearing them and i'd just forgotten. The battery last all day for me, no problem, and they're surprisingly loud, and only slightly tickle at the very top volume! I've actually stopped using my other bluetooth headphones for the past four weeks since i got them. Even on the train i can hear all my music surprisingly well, except when it gets exceptionally loud, but even then i can put these up to full and it stands up to the loud external noise pretty well! Anyway, great video as always, always nice to see I've got a Techmoan-approved piece of kit! (you should do a sticker for electronics that you have bought - "Techmoan-Owned")

You actually gave a good review for the single sided deaf/Hard of Hearing community because for some who are deaf in one ear that tingle (which is now gone sadly 12:12) was what helped some figure out what was playing on the deaf side. A couple of years ago I went single sided deaf in one ear from an acoustic tumor so these won't work for me (nerve deaf) so the 2E1: Two Ears in One is the only headphone I can use It allows the single sided deaf to hear in two channel stereo with one ear.

If I had these headphones I'd absolutely have to change my ringtone to the CODEC ringing sound. So long as it sends it and doesn't use an internal ringing sound which I suppose is quite likely. Damn.

I've had my Aeropex for the past couple of months and I absolutely love them! I'd like to point out that I bought them primarily for work as I often pass through areas with heavy forklift traffic. I also don't like ear buds in my ears for long periods of time as they make my ears itch. However being honest, I got them to skirt around the "keep one ear open" rule. With these I can still hear audio in both ears while also keeping them open. Take that stupid "one ear open rule!" Although they are not bass heavy, they have a sufficient amount of bass. As for music quality I think they are fantastic. However I turned them to my ears using Samsung's adapt sound feature on my Galaxy phone. This feature alone can make crappy earphones sound pretty good so I might have EQ'd out some of the sound imperfections by tuning my phone to my hearing. With that said, the Aeropex are the best bluetooth headphones I've ever heard.

I love the Aeropex. They're the perfect headphones for listening to podcasts and music while riding a bike.

Wow, never seen this design before. Really interested to watch. I didn't appreciate where they fitted until the demo at the end. Great review.

I think the phrase that describes them is that you can retain your “situational awareness” when you are using them. If you are walking, running, bicycling, etc. you can still hear vehicles or people approach you instead of like other devices that can leave you oblivious to what is occurring around you. The sound is not audiophile quality but still very good. I really like mine.

Great to see a non-retro product review for a change. "I liked these so much I bought a pair for someone else too" is about as good a recommendation that you can get.

I've always been interested in the concept of bone conducting headphones, but never really knew much about how they work. Thanks for the thorough review!

I like the magnetic plug. My daughter uses wireless headphones and we have had to replace several because the plug fails.

Very nice to have pointed out the extra advantage to people with hearing loss. May have just given me my mum's Christmas present!

I work in manufacturing and use my trex air every single day. Good to see these guys are still making new models. Seems to be less sound leaking with these new ones.

Thanks for the review! These look perfect for what I want. My primary use is music, but it's more of a gentle background sound while doing other things kind of deal. I can listen to music while working while still being able to communicate with everyone which sounds 100% worth the money.

Everything techmoan demonstrates and mentions is so perfectly thought out. He knows exactly what the viewer is thinking and when to clarify something that may be unclear. He's a natural. Thorough and crystal.clear. This is such a quality channel.

Well made review. I own the same device to use at work. I work in a kitchen setting and need to maintain awareness of those working with me and incoming orders so these are perfect for taking phone calls and keeping my hands free and my ears open. Absolutely the best device I've ever used for this purpose and I've converted several of my coworkers to them as well. I also use them at home when I want to veg out on KZread without totally shutting out everyone around me. You are correct that you shouldn't count on these to listen to music in a quiet setting -- there are many other devices that will do this better. But if you want to hear something (podcasts, calls, or even some light music) while also maintaining your awareness of your surroundings, there is nothing better on the market.

I'm so glad that having 880K subscribers and always lots of kudos in the comments hasn't given you a big head! 😉 Seriously, I have the same problem with hats & helmets & headphones, so I appreciate product reviews that mention it specifically. Note that while the Aeropex is waterproof, it is not specifically designed for being submerged in water for long duration of time. For that, AfterShokz has actually released another headset called the Xtrainerz that has a built in 4GB storage for music but without bluetooth; which was overshadowed by the release of the Aeropex as that is what everyone is looking forward to in the next iteration of the bone conduction bluetooth headset.

A very good video that helped me understand the concept and actual benefits and shortcomings of bone conducting headsets. I can see that in certain uses they offer compelling advantages while in other uses sets like my Jabra ones will still be more preferable. Exactly why I watch Techmoan. Thank you.

The headphones I've been waiting for! Has anyone with long hair tried them? They look like it shouldn't pose a problem, but that'd be a real let-down to spend that kind of cash, wait with anticipation, only to find out my hair weighs the back down and ruins the fit. Otherwise, thanks for the no-nonsense, straight-forward review from a user with like-minded applications for this kind of device. I listen to podcasts at work, but safety is paramount and I need to be able to hear around me, so I'm a "single-earbud soldier". It's a pain when someone tries to get my attention via my budded ear.

These do seem to address the (minor) shortcomings I have with my Air which I've had for a few months now - fiddly charging and controls, no "previous track" keypress, inability to wear in the shower! I purchased a pair in January 2020, after watching this video. In March 2021, the battery finally died and barely holds a charge, i.e., will only work for 30-40 minutes before getting the "charge me" message. Up until the battery died, I loved these headphones and used them daily. Update: I since learned they have a TWO YEAR WARRANTY. I submitted a warranty replacement. *To my surprise,* they are sending me a replacement set, arriving in a few days. This level of customer service is unheard of, IMHO.

Interesting product. I have never been able to find earphones comfortable for long term wear... buying a pair now to try, and see if they might make good Christmas gifts. Thanks!

I'd gladly give up the magnetic charging connector for a standard micro-USB or USB-C charging port so I wouldn't have to carry an additional cable. It'd be so much more convenient if I can use the same charging cable for my phone.

@@swedneck In 10 years, you won't care about that because the lithium ion batteries in them have already worn out and you'd have bought a new set because you got tired of having to charge them every 2 hours, while new models offer 10+ hours per charge. Also, a USB charging port might take 5 times as much internal space as the magnetic one does.

Thanks for this review, came across it a few months ago and as a result bought some aeropex and couldn't be happier. It's to the point where I wear em almost 8 hours a day 3 or 4 days out of the week. Only headphones I've owned where I could wear them that long without a fair bit of discomfort. Good for music even if bass is lacking, but stellar for audiobooks.

4 months later still wearing them almost daily for 8-12+ hours and still loving them. this review absolutely sold me on the aeropex and if you can find them for a good price i absolutely recommend getting some if they fit your situation and preferences. aside from the expected lack of bottom end bass they sound fantastic even with music as long as the focus isnt on the bass lol

I love the Trekz Air for bike rides. I thought about using the Air Pods Pro with pass-through instead of the bone induction headphones but, as I worked in the yard today, and moving around quite a bit, one or the other would occasionally pop out. I'm going to give these a shot - thanks for the vid, love it! :)

These would be good for security guards or warehouse workers being able to still be able to pay attention to noise around them wile listening to anything they want

I have the Air version, and find them excellent. I use them when travelling so I can hear announcements on trains and in airports whilst also watching a movie on my iPad.

I've had the Titanium for two years and have been perfectly happy. Saw these new ones and thought I will stick with my old ones as what could be better? Well bought the new ones today on black Friday and wow what a improvement. Happy before, now even happier

I've got a set of these as well. Useful for cycling so I can still hear. I also wear them at work sometimes so I don't miss a call or awkwardly ignore someone at my door. Mine didn't come with a sports belt and they put the price up in Australia

Thanks for the review. They do seem very useful in many environments, including office space, car and so on. The low base response might be an issue if one listens to a lot of music, true.

I have a long walk to work, so having headphones is a must, I used to use a pair of Bose QC35, but I was getting worried about rainy days ruining them, I bought a pair of Aftershokz Trekz Titanium after your previous video since I saw them cheap, even for being the older model now they're still really good, perfect for audiobooks and since they leave your ears open it's safer for me crossing roads and walking the pavements at the early hours of the morning!

Best review do far. You could only make longer comparison with air model.

i didn't even know this exists. this is perfect for my office where i need to keep my ears for when my boss talks to me and the door for mail. it's pretty quiet office to so this is perfect.

Bought a pair. Looking forward to trying them. Used your link. Notably I came from your Sony LinkBuds overview and decided I'd rather have these. I have a pair of Galaxy Buds+ for more general purpose, and those meet that need pretty well.

I love the treks air at my job. While moving inventory to retail shelves it is rather enjoyable to listen to music or an audio book to pass the time. If it is too noisy I usually just press the pause button. It is really more about being aware of your surroundings while avoiding horrible music over the store intercom.

I’ve got a cheapo brand of similar headphones. They’re great for wearing around the house like you mentioned but also great for using with loud equipment. Mowing lawn, snow blowing, etc. Pop in ear plugs and you can still listen to your podcasts!

That's a good point; Aftershokz included a set of foam earplugs with my Trex Titaniums I got at Best Buy last night and I noticed that the "volume" gets louder when you plug your ears up. You could actually use any if the Aftershokz headsets with some NRR earplugs, protect your ears, and still listen to music, podcasts, or whatever.

I used to travel to the US (from Australia) a lot for work. On the 16 hour flight it would wear my Titanium Aftershokz while also wearing ear plugs to block out all ambient noise and a beanie to provide can bit more pressure for the Aftershokz. This provided almost 100% reduction in ambient noise and great sound clarity for anything I was listening to. This setup performed better than my Bose noise cancelling headphones and allowed me to sleep during the flight without having bulky headphones on my head. Also wearing a beanie negates the tickle effect for me.

I got one and I loved it so far.

these are amazing. I do use them in relatively loud environments, but I pause them when it gets too loud. It makes the workday much shorter.

My husband has the previous version of these and they also work really well for people with hearing loss. Because he has only a small amount of hearing in his right ear, normal headphones are only half useful. These actually allow him to hear sound on both sides. This alone has been more than worth the price for him.

One group of people that reviewers don’t mention is people with A conductive hearing issue. I am glad you mentioned it. Also, if you block your ears, you get A flat, rich sound. Bone conduction headphones can transmit frequencies up to one hundred thousand herts.

I'm a big fan of Aftershokz. I work out of my house and talk on the phone a great deal. These are great for telephone use and they allow me to hear what is going on in my surroundings. I also ride a bicycle and they allow me to listen to music, etc without worrying about missing out on the barking dog or the car bearing down on me. The earplugs do increase the base aspect of music, but not enough I would want to put them in. I also have hearing loss. But I don't notice it when using these. I highly recommend them for, as you stated, their intended uses.

I've got a pair of Air, I wear them all day long at home during this pandemic quarantine, taking phone calls and meetings while can still hear my son. very comfortable, better than any earbuds if you don't mind the sound quality.

I noticed you're wearing glasses as well as the headset. The Titanium had a thicker over-ear loop, but the Air and Aeropex are thinner. It looks like that is great for that. I listen to podcasts during work in the production line and having the ability to hear instructions and hear music (but no one else can) is priceless especially for making the hum drum of work go smoother.

This are awesome too listening to audio books in the workshop and ear plugs. I have the wire version(Sportz Titanium) the battery last 12 hours. So your hearing is protected and you can listening to a good book. :) Relay perfect for the workshop.

Thanks for the review, I was wondering whether this would be a significant upgrade from my Aftershokz Titanium. But the only real significant upgrade that would affect me seems to be the charging port, so I will leave it. For people that might be scared away because of the music thing: I have been using those things for about a year now (the Titanium ones, which are probably worse), and I really love them. I purely use them for music (like everywhere, all day), and really don't notice the audio being worse than other earbuds personally. I think I am just not much of an audiophile, but I am sure I'm not the only one. I also bought a pair of sony wf-1000xm3 recently for different purposes (while studying), and I can't notice much of a quality difference despite the sony wf-1000xm3 being pretty high quality (afaik).
