Skyline Drones 🚁, LA ORIZONT 🌐 & National Institute for Earth Physics (INFP) 🌍 carried out a complex aerial survey at a very important archaeological site in Romania, The Ancient City of Histria 🏛️.
Being on the eastern border, we were confronted with a highly jammed GPS environment 📡. The best UAV's like Tundra 2 from HEXADRONE 🚁 and Trinity Pro from Quantum-Systems 🛰️ helped us a lot in that matter.
We used some of the best aerial imaging equipment on the market, such as topographic LiDARs from YellowScan (VX20 & Ultra3) 📷, the 100Mpx iXM camera from Phase One 📸, Sony's 45Mpx integrated camera on the Trinity Pro and also Yellowscan Navigator Bathymetric LiDAR 📡.
Unfortunately, the turbidity of the water was high 🌊 and the bathymetric LiDAR could not penetrate the depth.
The area scanned was huge 🗺️ and so was the amount of data 💾. The team scanned the entire swamp where the ancient city is located to look for more archaeological structures 🏺 and to obtain an updated map of the area for further analysis 🖥️.
The archaeological site of Histria is rich in history 🏛️ and we recommend a visit there and in the surrounding area 🌄.
