    Nice video mate, finished my alevels, taking a gap year, going to Exeter next year, honestly can’t recommend it enough, I’d say go for it if you can. And these tips are informative and pretty useful if you want to do well, I didn’t do them all and did good but they could be super helpful, great vid!

    Thanks so much for this - My first 3 days have been really productive and the content has been pretty light so far - I am thinking about completing an EPQ, along with doing Maths, Physics an Chemistry. Have any of your friends done EPQs, and if so, could you give me some personal advice and tips regarding this please? Anyways, thank you!!

    I’m so glad it’s going well for you so far, keep up the hard work and effort and you’ll get those A/A* grades in your exams 😁. In terms of EPQ’s, my school doesn’t offer them so I haven’t done any and I don’t know anyone that has done them, but I do know a lot about them. They take a year to complete (so the whole of year 12) and are really good to do! With many universities, having an EPQ can lower the grades required to get into some universities, which is great! They do require a lot of work and writing, but they will really help you. They’re not essential to do, but can help. I hope this helps, good luck with your A-Level’s 💙

    Hi there! I begin my a-levels tomorrow and i was wondering what alternatives there is to flash cards. Also i’d it a good idea to summarise notes after every lesson. Finally , is there a set guide for a levels , like the exact information you need all in one place?

  • @TylerJamesTalks

    @TylerJamesTalks

    Good luck with your A-Levels, make sure to work hard from the beginning! 😊 flashcards are honestly amazing and I don’t think can be beaten as they allow for spaced repetition and active recall. Possibly condensed notes in which you REALLY condense the info and make sure to read over regularly could be a good substitute? Honestly flashcards are the best for this however. I recommend that after a lesson you do summarise, but with condensed notes, don’t just copy a page from a textbook!! And the specification for your exam board is the best thing to use for getting all the information about what to learn, and actually learning it I recommend CGP Guides for subjects such as Science and Maths!

    @@kaylasheldon9569 Ah amazing, that sounds so interesting! Media will have a few definitions you'll need to remember, and English will have a few words that you'll need to learn the meanings of, so making flashcards for these will be beneficial. But asides from that, flashcards aren't probably the best option for your choice of studies for English and Media Studies. Perhaps mindmaps, essay practising and CONDENSED note-taking will be good for these! However, I have no clue about criminology I am so sorry! I hope it all goes well for you during A-Levels, just keep working hard from day 1 and you'll smash it!!!

    Do you know how much detail am I meant to know for the practicals at A-Level sciences as in the exact numerical values for the experiments like for example 0.5moles of a solution?

  • @TylerJamesTalks

    @TylerJamesTalks

    11 ай бұрын

    No, make sure to have a look at the specification under the practicals and have a look at what you’re required to know. Some units you may be required to memorise, for example the 24dm^3 of gas in one mole unit!

    They will obviously mention many different units in these practicals (eg. 10cm^3 of H2SO4, 1mol of ethanol), but as long as you can use these values to calculate different amounts etc then you’ll be fine! 😁

    Could you please explain to me how the practical learning and for the practical endorsement situation works as in how many do I need to learn and are the practicals that I would need to perform going to be anything related to the title of the practical? If that makes any sense could you please help me understand how to learn the practicals and what do I need to learn and how many please for the AQA or OCR A exams I have no idea if there’s any difference I’m a private candidate so I really don’t know how to learn the practicals😅

  • @TylerJamesTalks

    @TylerJamesTalks

    11 ай бұрын

    If you’re a private candidate, you do have the option to not take part in the practical activities for GCSE Biology, but it’s HIGHLY recommended that you contact the institution in which you are taking your exams and ask them for the opportunity to undertake these required practicals as 15% of questions in GCSE AQA Biology are testing your knowledge of these practicals. If you don’t undertake these practicals, you must sign the MTC waiver (make sure to research what this is!). This information is all the same for both AQA and OCR A GCSE Biology. Hope this helps, if you have any more questions let me know 😁

    So sorry about this! For A-Level, you will receive a grade for your science subject, but also a separate grade for your practical work (Practical Endorsement Examination). It’ll be either a Pass or Fail. If you don’t undertake in these practicals, you’ll receive a fail. Make sure to contact the institution that you’re taking your exams in, and ask to do the practicals in that school/college and they should let you! It’s important to know that if you’re going to study any science at degree level, many unis will require a Pass in your Practical Endorsement Examination to study that subject. If you have any more questions, make sure to ask 😊
