Adventurers Jim & Tori Baird on their son’s FOXG1 diagnosis, life in the wild | National Geographic

For outdoor enthusiasts Jim and Tori Baird, when their four-year-old son, Wesley, was first diagnosed with FOXG1, a rare neurodevelopmental disorder, it seemed like their days of adventuring might be over. But after learning from doctors that being immersed in nature could have a positive impact on his development, the Bairds began taking Wesley and his baby brother, Hudson, on expeditions into the backcountry, doing off-grid living their way. #HomeInTheWild #DisabilityPrideMonth

You could be a spokesman for FoxG1 and help make the public aware of this new unknown syndrome. The more awareness the more donations. The more donations the more research. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Laughter in the backseat while you are crying in the front seat. Some people ride life in the center and live their whole lives without really living. I can see that you guys are embracing the tears and the laughter and perhaps that's God's greatest lesson for us all.

@@JimBairdAdventurerDang, that could be a reason why the kid was born with special needs. By the time a women is 30 only about 90% of her eggs are left, and those aren’t her healthiest eggs.

Are you the arbiter of PRIDE? If PRIDE is a trigger word for you, you should probably go find your grandparents grave and ask them why they didn't teach you humility.
