Episode 10 - Part 1: Skippers Road
Join us on another bucket list adventure Ride up Coronet Peak road & into Skippers Canyon. Following the original road started during the gold rush in the 1860’s we ride along cliff faces with sheer drops along the edge of the Shotover river. There are ruins of the original gold settlements, including the Welcome Home Hotel chimney before we cross Skippers Bridge & stop for lunch at the Mt Aurum townsite. We are joined by 2 fellow riders so there is a little bit of one-sided conversation - generally discussions about mountain bike trails, death roads of the world & a suggestion that the Million Dollar Bogan could ride his Road King through here. Hope you enjoy the scenery & history of this amazing part of Central Otago.
