Adventure Motorcycling and Marshall's Last Nerve at 9770 feet (Rollins Pass)

Watch Marshall whine. Watch Marshall cry. Watch Marshall give out on an adventure motorcycle ride up Rollins Pass Road with his Moto Guzzi V85TT. Ok, he is only crying on the INSIDE, but it still counts.

Wow, that is pretty harrowing. Thanks for sharing!

That’s a serious road. Happy to see the goose handle it. Agreed, would have been easier on diff tires. The goose is a great machine, those who know -know. Thx for the video.

You did the right thing Marshall, when you have had enough and get tired things don't go well. You gave it your all and responsibly decided to turn around. Lived to ride another day. Bike undamaged and your not hurt. Great success, good fun when its over. The sealed roads after that section must and felt like heaven afterwards.

Thank you. I was standing up for all of it. When I sit down, you know because the camera is looking through the shield. In hindsight, 2cd gear would have given me more power, but i was not prepared mentally for that ride, and had 0 practice.

@@ridingwithmarshall I just removed the standing up comment. You did amazing. What made it even harder was you were mentally prepared for the first weigh point and gave it your all to have it continue and just get progressively worse and worse was just too much. Definitely the right decision to turn around. It was a successful ride.

The video does not do those rocks justice. We did that road a couple weeks ago in my truck. I don't think you got far enough along, but there was a boat on a broken trailer in the trail. 😂 Not sure what that was about...

I should note, when we got turned around by a snow drift I was almost relieved... Until I remembered it was out and back. 😂

The action camera smooths footage and makes everything look smaller and farther away than it really is. Jeff looks like he's out of range, but he wasn't that far ahead most of the time. I'd be up for trying it again on a dual sport bike. Someone tried to get a BOAT to Jenny Lake or Yankee Doodle?? I'll bet they they are not allowed.

@@ridingwithmarshall yeah, I can't imagine that it would be allowed on those lakes. It was a little flat bottom boat (maybe 10ft)but the trailer was this little dainty thing I was surprised it made it that far up. 😂

That didn't look like fun. You couldn't enjoy the views as you were scanning every inch of the road in front of you. Is there any bike that would cope with that road? The funky Ducati DesertX is pretty much an extreme off-road version of the popular Multistrada V2, with 250 mm ground clearance, with short gear ratios for easier off road riding.

This one could have done it if I softened the front suspension and dropped 10 psi from the tires. AND if the rider had more practice.

Heavy breathing - sounds like you were running up the hill while pushing the motorcycle. Hope you know I'm just kidding. Nice adventure.
