ADVENTURE IN THE LAKES, DALES & PEAKS - Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC
A few weeks ago I set off on a mini adventure, for 6 days of wild camping, blasting through the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales & Lake District. I set aside a few days at each location to enjoy what each National Park had to offer, and they did not disappoint. Incredible roads and simply breathtaking scenery. This is a mash up of GoPro footage, with a semi blend of music, raw engine note and that slash cut soundtrack. Hope you enjoy!

Scrambler, the dream bikes of my childhood. Love the Triumph and the sound.
Insane roads! Looks like a lot of fun!
Fantastic clip . I got my xe1200 3 days ago, childhood dream made into reality fantastic bike. Regards Dave from Scotland
What an awesome landscape ♥ and a perfect bike :)
I'm taking possesion of one of these next week and to say that I was just in a permanent state of butt pucker throughout the end bit of this video is an understatement, good on you for taking the bike out to do the thing it's supposed to do, realizing it was probably dumb to keep going and turning around and not ruining the bike to save your ego. Subscribed.
Wonderful machine and landscape.
Love this video, a very honest genuine video of the bike and you as a rider pushing your comfort, that’s were riding really happens. Enjoyed and subscribed, keep, keeping it real and honest .
My sweet brother..you manifested it ( when you stop the bike ) before you show the crash..;awsmmm video and lots of love from india 🇮🇳
Loving your content! Great to see someone getting a Triumph Scrambler out there. My 865 build is without doubt the most entertaining bike I've had!
Love this bike.
I was using all my strength to keep that baby upright. What a beautiful place to ride!

gotta the struggle...dude, that bike is so clean!!
Nice video, that exhaust sound is awesome!
That's why I love 270 degree twins...what a sound. 😍 I'd like to see this engine in small retro hot hatch cars. Would be smooth and godly sounding for sure. 👍
Living the dream there bud 👌👌🤟😎
Great video, especially that downhill at the end. Good for you to stop when you did. That road was sketchy.
So good!!
Love it, I feel ur freedom N happiness
Love it man . Great stuff
Great work brother love the video and loose stones will get the best of anyone!
Triumph should show people who purchase the Scrambler this video so that they know what they're supposed to do with it. It's like a promo video.

Haha cheers man! Never intended to be that way, but sure as hell showcases what these machines are about. I'll be uploading more stuff end of the year/beginning of next, following a 2000 mile adventure with the better half, earlier this year, so stay tuned. 🤙🏼

@@unparalleledtwin5280 I started riding this year and have been looking at what to get next. I'd like to be able to take a few hour ride and carry some clothes for weekend trips and such. Our roads around here can be pretty gnarly. I think your video has done a nice job showing this Scrambler would be a great choice.
Nice views, editing and beutiful bike!
Flibbin awesome!
Bro, had a similar “crash”, on a similar rocky back road. I was doing about 40km/h though. The Triumph aftermarket crash bar saved the bike. If you were debating whether to get them or not, pull the trigger bro. Worth the money. They saved me a lot of money on that crash. Lol. Awesome video.

Crash bars and put some proper barkbusters on. I have beaten the everloving crap out of my XE on OHRV trails and it is still going strong. Also bring tools to realign your bars after a good crash. You will be glad you did.
Hardnott pass looks a lot easier with an engine! Ive cycled up it many times and its probably the hardest climb in the country. Absolutely love the motorbike!
Wow!! are those XE risers on an XC...please share details of all the parts you've changed...love the look!!!
Great vid, well done for getting up and carrying on. Take it from an old fart it's the most valuable thing I have learned to do.
fair play mate that was cool! Heavy Breathing it at the end! beast to lift i'll bet.
Great video... You are as nuts as me 🤣
Awesome bike!!! Love the sound of that exhaust. Why you riding in the wrong side of the road? Haha
That bike is sick
Just got the same bike today. Totally in love and obsessed. Question. Did you install the pannier yourself? I got the escape kit, and nothing came with instructions. Thought it’d be straight forward, and I’m sure it is but yet there are a lot of unexplained spacers ! Anyone with some guidance for the escape kit and/or just the pannier!?
we need more🔥🔥
You say "absolute fail" at the end of your vid. I disagree, I'd say "absolute success" - you pushed outside your comfort zone, had a go, fell but didn't injure yourself, or your bike - seems like a big win to me. MASSIVE THUMBS UP :) Cheers, Campbell:)

Really enjoyed this video, ive got a Ducati scrambler and I’m hoping to get out and do some similar things on mine this year! COVID allowing 🙏
Nice place, nice video, gorgeous bike. But, if you use a mirror like that, it doesn't hit the fuel tank when you push your handlebar to the right?
@4.35 It looked very much to me like your rolled down that slope with the clutch in ?
Nice vid Matt, lucky you didn't have the bar end mirrors on
Nice video,, having on off road will improve your skill in riding..👍..what mirror did you use?
Living the dream! Where's the footage of the camp setups - more of this!
What tyres do you use and is the back wheel widwr than stock?
Fantastic video. What mirror is that?
Great video....what mirror is that.
Where did you get the lightening bolt exhaust cover from, my dude?
Oh dear, bit of heavy weight for that. I sometimes struggle with my BMW 650 and that weighs only 352lbs, well done for having a go though 👍
No worries mate ... you’re riding her like the Scrambler she is!
Would love to do this with my svartpilen 401
The space between your front wheel and the high mudguard looks unusually large, compared to my XC at least. Is that just due to the angle of the photo or did you do something to achieve that? Thanks in anticipation for your response
Lot to learn...
Awesome stuff new sub here!
Which Exhaust do you have? And we you have taken the XC over the XE :-)?
Hey man, did you compare this with the Ducati Desert Sled? Loved this video!! Thanks for showing the less desirable moments of riding - happens to us all - best wishes
Brother can you help me… I’m looking where is the best place to buy the high front mudguard kit?
whereabouts are you camping/riding right at the beginning of the video? Looks idyllic!

It's right near an old quarry, just outside of Castleton in Peak District. You have to follow the road up, those woods are just off a little single track! Genuinely perfect for wildcamping, well out of the way. 🤙🏼
Hardnott and Wynose are great for that bike. Don't think many realize how much more the lakes have to offer than just lakes. Oh and you can take pictures. Just snap shot your video.
I want an extended cut 🤣
Am I right saying The cross of greet was on one part?
Friend, why do you ride over the gravel in sitting position?
Great bike - next time give it some beans and power through it up hill
bomb!
Those single track roads have me all manner of confused on what bike to get next - On the one road I LOOOOVE sports bikes, on the other hand I was out on my Street 765 RS the other week on roads similar, thinking. I'd love a Scrambler - 1200 / Or Desert Sled etc...
nice backpack
Cool vid - and good on you for posting your 'hairy' moment down the graveled rd. Looked semi-knarly, but I take it you don't go off-road much. You should do some ADVing, it'll build those skills up a lot:) BUT I know that oh SH#T! feeling well :)

Yeah I still have a lot to learn, used to off road a little as a kid, but got into green laning over the past few years. 1200 Scram with some luggage is on par with a middle weight ADV, so was interesting to handle. I think the decline and terrain took such a sudden turn, that I wasn't expecting it. Footage doesn't quite do it justice to be honest. I met 2 Royal Enfield Himalayan riders who were on the way up, they bailed the climb and decided to come down with me. Wish I'd captured all that. Thanks though man!

@@unparalleledtwin5280 Yeah, the camera lies. This stuff is often much steeper in real life than it looks on camera. Hope the Covid isn't stopping you from getting out on your bike. Just sold my DR650 and hoping to have an Africa Twin by the end of the week :)
Really nice👌 Is this the original Triumph exhaust?
Is that exhaust stock?
What camera are you using?
this my dream bike
Crystal generation.
nice to see a bike getting used for what it was made for and not just a tarted up posing machine...looks better with a couple of scratches.
Awesome intro! Never fun is the loose shit when the front wheel keeps washing out. Is that a GoPro 8 (or 7) on your helmet with some ND filters on? Love how the POV turned out. I hate the quality of my Sena 10C.

Thanks man! Something a little different. Yeah, it was momentum that screwed me over, you've gotta fully commit, can't be half in. It's a Hero 7 Black, set on 'Superview' gives a lovely wide angle, can pull great stills. No ND filters, standard. The stabilization with the Hero 7 & 8 is awesome too, genuinely no need for a gimbal. Rate 'em highly 🤘🏼

@@unparalleledtwin5280 I use a hero 5 and the DJI Osmo Action for shots mounted on the bike, but was planning I switching to one of my action cameras for POV. Need to try and compare the Hero 7/8 against the Osmo Action since they both have stabilization. Still, great job with the video quality, it's up there with your top notch photography!
Good on you for trying! Only way to improve.

100%, that's what I took away from it. The drop was my fault, lack of momentum. Sometimes you've just gotta go all in. Soft luggage FTW though! Took the brunt of the drop, Scram was unscathed!
Dude, you should have put your back to the tank and pushed with your feet, it would have been much easier. Good luck to you. Good video!

Yeah you really don't need to cross seas to have a good time and indulge in epic scenery. Last road was a shocker! Declined rapidly, and the terrain went from loose gravel to ledges and boulders, fun times. (I was crying inside)
Fantastic video mate, did you just find random woods to camp in?

Thanks bud! Yeah pretty much, or overgrown fields just off byways. Places that didn't look like they were in use, or would cause any problems should I pitch up. 🤙🏼
Nice little view of the area, you just need to develop some skills with experience, and then you would think that was all a piece of piss. Good Luck.

You and me both, that's what I thought this was until the sudden decline, stones turned into boulders and ledges were forming in the road.. I learned more about my XC though! Weight distribution and handling characteristics off road etc. Coming out of your comfort zone definitely makes you better as a rider.

@@unparalleledtwin5280 True. The only way to expand your comfort zone is to break it. I've ordered a set of Dunlop Trailmax Mission to get some more grip although the Metzeler Tourance is pretty good for what they are. What tyres are you using? Are you happy with them?
Errmagerd he is driving on the wrong side of the road 😃
Iuuuuuu huuuuuuuu
Dont use front brake in off road and dont leve the cluch
456 lbs > strong man
Not a fail at all takes a while to learn to ride those paths. Not easy, also not easy being OK with dropping 10k of triumph. But if you want to ride roads like that you will drop it. Go with it . It’s what the bike is meant for.
Oh man...you need to go a bit faster on the rocky path or ...get a Kawasaki KLX 450!
Lol hipster adventure
I don’t see why you could not go up on that crappy road maybe try it again going faster your on a scrambler after all also you might want to turn of the AVS - I’ve driven on roads worse then that in Vietnam on my wife’s Honda Lead scooter but i was not going up hill it was flat and I saying fuck the speed limit after all I’m on a highway with no police presents these roads are crap and it was hot very sunny out I forgot my gloves and got sun burn on my hands on the way to the beach come from Ho Chi Minh City
Good video and congrats on the trip but please mate, no more shots of deliberately wheel spinning and tearing up the land (the intro), that is EXACTLY what gives our sport a bad reputation and provides justification for the anorak-wearing-bearded-ramblers-motorcycle-hating-spoil-sports to stop motorcycles from going off road in this tiny island of ours. The few trails we have left open to us are precocious.Set a better example next time please. Not cool for the rest of us.
