Small sketchbooks are the ONLY way I sketch. After taking watercolor classes for years, I found myself intimidated by larger paper and the possibility of messing up expensive paper. A year ago, I was introduced to a 5x7 sketchbook. I'm on my second one, now, and have lots of used 4x6 cut up paper from my old large formats. 30 minutes to an hour is my limit before I need a break, anyway, so it's perfect!

a - I have a lot of skirts from Japanese brands like Axes Femme and even Angelic Pretty that have pockets that big (and OzzOn, which, I think, labels all their clothes as unisex); b - there's nothing stopping anyone from buying clothes (or anything) labeled for the opposite sex; c - I'd rather see more men wearing tight pants and elegant silhouettes (and carrying nice bags) as opposed to the other way.

I also enjoy using the blank side of cheap index cards. They're great if you don't want to spend money on a sketchbook. I bought a pack of 100 4 x 6 cards at the Dollar store. I used a hole puncher on a 20-30 cards, then stuck them in a tiny 4 x 6 binder and tada...I have a cheap pocket sketchbook! It's perfect for when I use Sharpie fine point pens and markers. No more worries about bleed thru. I just remove a card when I need to sketch and pop it back in the binder when i'm done.
