Minor 2 5 1. Two chord is a min7b5, five chord is an alt7, one chord is a min9. You can also b9 the five chord and play a D major diminished sixth scale over all three chords. G#, C#, F# is also a 2 5 1. Excellent lesson.

Thanks so much! That turnaround lick is definitely one of my favs. I wouldn't call myself a jazz pianist but I'm definitely a student of the genre.

Sir hopefully if you see this, I just wanted to ask a question: I’ve been following you for some time and recently rewatched your Kevin carter and Sarah Paik video. I was amazed how you were able to transcribe everything note by note. I myself have been trying to better my ear training and wanted to ask how you were able to develop so good?

How about breaking it down simple as in using seventh chords first when explaining, too much technicalities causing the lesson to be lost

Some of the simple chords are the most beautiful chords...sometimes too much flavor takes from the song...everyone style is different. Too many church songs singing alike..just my opinion
