Actually, I think it would be HEROIC to use this knife hard, and put some LOVE on it! I won’t, so much (I just purchased one), because some people will be SCARED by it. I won’t take it out in public much!

I admit I did order an un-anodized, polished titanium example, because I felt that ano would “mute the design,” i.e. compete with the sculptural forms. I particular, a complex pattern, like I see on some of them, will tend to obscure the shapes. I might have gotten the blacked-out version, had one been available. I might possibly get a custom ano job done on it, TBD.

What about the ADV Alien? The Alien also had a CNC-carved skeletal design, like the RIKE THOR 6 and 7. THAT has been one of my grail knives for ages, and guess what? I have not yet seen a single one for sale… Will THIS knife “fill the bill?”

Makes me think of the 'Alien' movies

It IS disappointing that the zipper pouch is defective! I just purchased one. I haven’t received it yet, so I hope that has been fixed. An $800 knife shouldn’t have what is likely to be annoying every time you look at it!

That’s a real beauty! I’ve 4 ADVs from a 2" Mini Butcher to a 4" Classic Butcher, and luv all them knives, but I’d luv one of these too.... one day!

Did this stick around in your collection? That thing is..... not for everyone. But it has all the things you appreciate. Milling, ti clip, bearing, ext.

Beautiful knife reminds me of the Thor5 alot but really beefier. Definately a proud carry.

If you don't mind my saying, the THOR5 is not nearly as sculptural as this knife. Take the row of windows out of the T5 and you have a very conventional-looking knife. I have both a T6 and a T7, which are much more like this Scavenger (esp. the T6) than the T5. In fact, I like this kind of sculptural, alien-insect-inspired design (in part for the challenge of machining it), and might even pick up a Scavenger if I get a chance (what I really want is a AdV Alien), but I probably won't ever get a THOR 5.

Impressive knife, but in my opinion it's a bit much especially the handle looks cheap and overdone, but that's just me

just saw this on bladehq, and I thought wow thats so freekin cool I wish I could have one, and I love rike knives too. but honestly I dont know what I could use that for, defenitly not at work. maybe to cut vegtables at home? lol, but that is a super cool knife.

We will look back on this era as one of the most garish in knife design.

Because the minimum wage just went up to $3/ hr in China !!! Lol If that knife was even able to be made in the USA I’d be $2K +

it's a beast and I love it. Totally impractical but that's one talking point around the table when you whip it out and deploy that 4.5" of M390 awesomeness. Straight into the permanent collection for that one.
