Everyone should wear their pajamas as a layer when they play in the snow.😊

Fairy really landed in greyhound heaven when she found you. You take such good care of her. And it’s great that you mention special greyhound needs, like warm layers and paw protection, in case someone is thinking of getting one. One suggestion for you: letting fairy watch the swans for any length of time in close proximity seems to get her very excited and triggers her prey drive. Maybe keep her moving past them quickly, and correct her immediately if she gets too focused on them. Anyway, she’s a very lucky girl to have such a great mommy.

Fairy really enjoyed the snow, didn't she? All my pets have always loved playing in the snow, and I've always loved watching them. It's as if they never grow up. It's so sweet. Gemm.

It takes me a good ten minutes to clean the snow out of my 15lb mini Labradoodle after she has been out in the snow. We have to use a brush to get the balls of snow off her. She absolutely loves the snow. She is just over 5 months.

Wonderful video. Fairy is lovely. May I just say, that squeeky toys trigger a dog's prey drive and can stress the dog. Being a greyhound Fairy already has a strong prey drive, so if you experience her becoming restless/stressed the toy may be the cause. It's great that you keep Fairy on a long line, when she can't run free. Had you used a flex line, you'd more than likely have ended up in the lake with Fairy and the swans😊

Yes she works at an Infant school listening to the children read 😀

I think a general opinion is that Greys, with their long necks, should not have long lines connected to a collar,at least not as the only connection. Safer to have a long line hitched to a harness,to prevent injury if the Grey takes off.

Yes I know this now and don’t attach one to her collar anymore but these videos were filmed when I hadn’t had Fairy very long and was not aware of the risk of injury 👍

Yes. We've a border collie cross who usually walks on a lead. But when he swims, it's much easier to help him out when he's wearing a harness.

Oh my dear, please train Fairy not to pull on the lead to get at the birds---you are going to get pulled oto the ground sooner or later & you or Fairy may be injured, & that would be awful. The fact that she obeys you eventually is good but that may be too late; however it does show that Fairy is very smart & wishes to please you. Maybe stopping to watch the birds is just too much temptation for her strong prey drive; would it work to walk by them quickly & then offer a distraction (chicken, squeaky toy)? Perhaps she would learn that birds are the things that you walk past quickly to get a treat! You have made her life so full & rich & delicious that I'm sure she wouldn't feel deprived. Such a lovely dog! Wish I could have another greyhound!

Sound advice. It surprised me that she was stalking them. I was walking our dog once when we were confronted by an angry swan. Our dog slipped his collar & ran, leaving me to dodge the bird & retreat almost as quickly. It took a while to catch up with him.

Fairy should be on a CAT walk modelling all those clothes 😹

SO Happy for you both ! I’m in MELBOURNE and as you know I have 5 retired Gifts. at home here ! There a blessed gift ! My problem currently is is that it’s warm weather and flies are eating my poor dogs ears ! Have tried everything from Vaseline. to Lanaline. ! If you can get it try Avon So Soft mozzie repellent, we used to use it to keep flies off the horses worked a treat.

I really respect the way you take such good care of Fairy. I wish they would ban greyhound racing as well as horseracing, for that matter. Is there a donation page for Fairy? I would love to contribute to her squeaky toy collection.🤑☺

Thank you so much I wish they would ban them both too. I used to own horses. Fairy doesn’t have a donation page but a couple have people have kindly donated some money to buy her toys and treats on you tube through ‘supers or super thanks’ I’m not sure how it works and don’t expect anyone to give her money! Just appreciate our loyal viewers and subscribers 🥰❤️

😅 Fairy's so well trained. I walked our dog to a local pond, and a man was there with his Labrador. The Lab saw ducks landing & unexpectedly launched himself into the pond after them - with his jaws wide open - there was no mistaking his wicked intentions. Nor did he come back - the man had to wade in after him & grab his collar before he reached the ducks.

Although i have had 5 newfound dog and live in the cold Canada, i must admit that my favorite race is the liverette or the greyhound dog (lévrier). But fairy would be so miserable in the winter at -15 degré and we dont have swan 😊. She is beautiful, gentle and i wish you and her a good life, thanks for saving her as i rescue newfound dog.

The pajamas under the coat, and the little tongue bleb ❤❤❤ Fairy seems so adaptable and really enjoys her life and the new experiences you provide for her. What a love. Our oldest child (grown and married) has a rescue grey as well... he is very dear to us, as was his beloved predecessor. He has long boots for the snow, like go-go boots 😊, and he doesn't really like them either, but he will do anything for his Mom and Dad 🥰

Adorable! That snow & cold get "old" really quickly, when you have to repeatedly shovel, over and over. Grumble. I've just come in from shovelling our public walkway/ sidewalk, and the neighbour's double corner lot - with bus stop, street drain AND fire hydrant (all of which must be kept shovelled-out). Every morning out by 6 a.m. to try and beat the early work-starters before they tromp down the snow. Felt badly for the folks who came on ski holidays for Christmas, when we had an unusual green Christmas. We've got beautiful power now! (And we're only -10C now, versus the -30C a few days ago. Now THAT was BRRR! + Windchill!) Glad to see Fairy enjoying the snow, all bundled-up (my guy, from Hong Kong, loved snow, too - got the mega-zoomies the first time he experienced it). She even seemed to say "Sorry, Mom" after nearly dragging you into the water. 🙂 Bootie tip - if the booties don't have good non-slip winter soles, go to your local shoe repair/ cobbler, and get them to put on the very best winter sole you can. Very helpful if your dog ever has injuries. Cheers!

Fairy is such a sweetie and you're a great mom! I so enjoy your videos. Vaseline definitely provides protection, but I have also used Mushers Paw Wax and Eco-Paw Protector (whichever is available in the shops) to protect my pupper's feets from snow and salt. The wax has a bit more staying power than petroleum jelly and washes off easily when coming back indoors.

Yes we use specific greyhound clothing companies which make them for their body shape. Pointy faces and AK creations are my favourites

I need advice, I adopted a greyhound that is a very sweet girl that needs our love and personal time but one issue I don't know how to correct is she will come up and put her paw on a person's leg and she has very strong legs and has ripped skin bad on my wife's leg and another time ripped her pants leg, please help

I’m sorry to hear that, I am not a dog trainer but what I would do is give lots of praise and treats when she is doing the right thing but if she puts her paw up on you say no firmly and lift her paw off you and back onto the ground then turn away and give no attention for a moment. She should learn what behaviour you like and don’t like. If this doesn’t work you should consult a qualified dog trainer.
