    Damn right! 😂 MS paint boots up faster, you can create your own brushes and astonishing pixel art. People can turn their noses up at it, but I like more quirky options, everything looks so generic and boring now.

    Nice review of both applications. I've used Adobe Flash back in the day (late 90's). Always wanted to do more animation when I had some spare time. So better late than never I guess.

    After all these years Adobe still hasn't managed a seamless bridge between Animate and After Effects. While they have introduced 'Dynamic Link' between a program like Character Animator, and AE Adobe Animates best option is still to export an swf or a series of PNG's, which isn't the best option if you use both programs back and forth. If Adobe finally manages to bridge this gap, the combination After Effects/Animate beats ToonBoom...

    But Toonboom keeps getting actual useful updates over the years, Flash/Animate CC still crashes down whenever you work with overlapping symbols.

    Blender is the best for 3D software. But not really good for 2D since they just started that 2D features. And not many feature on 2D mode compared to other software

    If I just need character animation, no backdrops, no compositing. Just a Character -> do the animation -> export as PNG sequence. Would you recommend "Spine Pro", "Adobe Animate" oder "Toon Boom Studio"?

    I want to make a high quality 2d series and I want to use illustrator to make my characters and adobe animate to animate the series but it'll be hard to illustrate characters frame by frame since I am going to be using illustrator, any tips/tricks for using these softwares to make a 2d series?

    You should probably use after effects instead. You can just import the illustrations and then edit them in after effects to move with the animation.

    Nope, I've spent the last two years using every piece of drawing and animating software I can afford. Some software is easier to learn, some software can do more, some software makes it easier to draw and some software makes everything quicker Sure with enough time you may be able to make a semi-profesional looking animated giff with procreate.... But it would be way quicker and easier with animate sai

    the monthly billing for both software is the real killer for me. im not a full-time animator, i just do it as a hobby. so dropping $200+ every year for a program that i realistically wont be using everyday is a bummer.
