I have been using Wick for almost 2 years and I learnt a lot of things throughout my journey, it's genuinely underrated and more people starting with animation need to use it! It's kind of like Scratch, but with less limitations such as the 480p project size and 30 fps! Wick has no watermark, no fps cap, no resolution cap, although the sound can be a bit confusing and not as optimizable as the other features. Definitely give it a try, they even have tutorials on their own channel!

I second this. The layout and workflow of Wick is very intuitive, and similar to Flash. It can even do symbols and motion tweening. I also find it to be much more stable than some of the other animation freeware out there.

My main bone to pick with Wick, is that it can't operate like Flash, and I go nuts trying to port my assets between the programs. My main problem, is just... *Object Drawings*. They're Flash features that basically turn every Object into a Symbol, without turning it into an actual Symbol.

The Wick Editor is my favourite Flash alternative. Tweening and nesting animation features work really well.

Super great video makes excited to learn more and get started! Love the "stay organized" motto !!

I originally started with Pivot, it was really easy to use, especially for stick figures. However it gets a bit challenging when trying to make animations with dialogue, that's why I switched to Flash.

Pivot Master I actually never used that feature, but I mean with voices and not text. I used to put mouthes and eyes on the stick figures and then add in voices later. It was a very long process.

Same! @Lancer Chad Pagalana Google Slides Is what I began using recently and when I want a faster frame rate I download the frames (after having them in seprate slides which I typically do anyway) convert them and use a gif maker to make the animation as fast as I want.

When i was a kid, i thought these "animator vs animation" videos were real. I didn't knew the meaning of animation, i thought the animiation meant the stickmans in your pc and the animator means the cursor. Man i remember i installed a virus just to get the animation in my pc

I use pivot, and I love it. It’s amazing for starter animators as you don’t have to keep on redrawing the same thing, while still keeping everything look great.

@@ProximaCentauri55 One of the best ways to add basically whatever you want to Pivot is to break up drawings or images into their individual parts (for example, a gun has a trigger, magazine, slide, etc.), turn them all into separate sprites, then connect them together with a bit of figure editing. After that, save the new model and it becomes it's own fully-fledged custom model instead of a sprite. Hope this helps!

Thank you for taking the time to make something like this. I'm sure it'll do a lot to help new animators who aren't 100% sure they want to spend money to start making animations.

@@notinuse90 Firealpaca is mainly art, but they have view and onionskin options. It's not made specifically for animation, but it does work. Today though, I prefer toon boom harmony 17. It's just better.

Thanks, Alan! I started an animation on Wick Editor and love it! I noticed that when using a mouse and using the pencil tool, the program straitens/corrects frames so it doesn't look so messy.

tysm I was looking for alternatives but never found one this rlly helps a lot!

the animation desk is awesome it has many functions that make it easy for you to use

After all these years, Macromedia Flash 8 still my all time favorite animation program. Still use it! Obviously not for Flash export, but for animation frames export.

I've been using Pivot Animator since 2013. You can stretch a certain part of a stick figure by holding ctrl and dragging it anywhere. Enlarging a part hold alt and drag it outward to enlarge and vice versa. Ctrl alt rotates the pivot by where the mouse is at the pivot part as the center. You can also import sprites but ctrl and alt does the same thing (squeezes them).

Macromedia Flash (Flash before they got bought by Adobe) is free to use. it has all the functionality of flash (without newer features tho)

Wick editor is just the right stater pack I need for beginning

Thanks for this video. I needed a free program to create Flash file and you suggested one that works great for me.

You need to be very careful with some programs, (mainly from third-party downloading sites) especially without "external" antivirus programs (ones you have bought) although windows does decent it fails to detect alot, and even with good antivirus programs you still need to be very careful with what you agree to, for example some installers ask if you want *-X-* program to come with or something like that. I apparently got a Trojan horse virus from downloading some video editing software that was legit but the installer was weird and I skipped most of it, thankfully I do have a good antivirus though. This turned out longer than I was thinking but I hope it helps someone.. If anyone takes the time to read this that is lol.

There are a TON of cool tricks you can do in Pivot! It's amazing what it can do. And Stykz is another cross-platform stick figure animation software that even accepts Pivot animation files.

The Wick Editor software mentioned is basically the ultimate bargain bin Adobe Flash; In my opinion, Wick is just as great, if not better than Flash, and thanks to the software, I can now easily make browser games and cartoons with more complex characters without going through the hassle of using TextEdit/Notepad or doing traditional animation. :D

It depends on your style but one great option for IOS and Android is StickNodes! The community is amazing and its free and if you throw in around three bucks you can get the pro version with sounds! The whole software is basically PIVOT with color and you don't have to make the figures just go to Sticknodes.com and there are thousands of different stickfigures ranging from Yandere simulator all the way to Dragon Ball Z! and you can add background too! You can also make some pretty cool stickfigures yourself! if you want to see some really good animations than I suggest you check out D4v1dd on youtube. He makes loads of cool animations!
