My problem is with the mags dropping out without using mag release. One twist clockwise fixed it.

Thanks for the video.. I kept looking for solutions for my AR. I have been wanting to try speed loads and I always had a problem with slamming mag home.. I would see videos of operators slamming with ease. Now I know way my catch was too tight ( lol ). But yeah made two turns back and mags slam home great... thanks for the video..

Man so helpful. I was having trouble with inserting and releasing the mag. It was very hard to push the release button. Even with mags loaded at 25 rounds.

Thanks for the insight..new to the AR game. Just built my first one and my mag definitely didn’t want to stay fully loaded but like you said a good smack on the mag locked it in..was going to look into possibly a 20 rnd magazine but do you think the spring tension would be the same fully loaded or is it purely weight related?

I bought a lower that the mag release screw wasn't tightened flush. Due to loose mag the bolt would not feed the bullets properly. I tightened up the mag release and It fed properly after that.

i hope this helps someone. i got a lower with a slighty out of spec mag release. lancers n gen 2 pmags would lock in the magwell but gen 3 wouldnt. after inspecting there are some differences. so after adjusting the mag release 100 times like the vid says which would be good advice but that wasnt my problem. i took the mag release out n went in with a flashlight to see what was happening. the mag was getting caught on the bottom of the magwell on the pmags little shelf. so i just sanded the shelf n check it, sand, check, little at a time. i did this with 7 gen 3s n now they all work with no "tap", just stick them in there. but like i said it was a slightly out of spec billet lower. hope this helps someone.

Zex Nynex wouldn't that mean that the gen 3 pmags are the ones out of spec?

Mine is a bit tight and I need to loosen it up.

My mag want even catch its really frustrating.. just got the damn gun today and I couldn't even shoot it..

Would this work if I’m having issues with mag over insertion? Resting my gun on the mag when I’m shooting causes it to malfunction

Perhaps. You could adjust it and see if it fixes it. Try it with a few different brands of magazines. Magpul pmags are the new standard, watch out for knockoff "promag" ones.

My magazine is still not releasing freely. Should i rotate that mag cage anti-clockwise more?

Yes, you can turn it more than once of needed.

Jezz, good video but...Might want to set a good example and clean up the work area a little. And the round just happen to be in the chamber. You just set that up as an example of how important it is to clear the weapon first. Right?

That rifle is always stored hot unless it's being transported or cleaned. The magazine was also loaded.

i dont know if its me but i noticed when i put the mag in i have to really push it in to lock in it does lock in i even tug on it just to check its locked in... do you think the mag release needs to be adjusted and i use hax mags

Adjusting the release may help, but you can also load your mags a round or two short so that there's more room to clear the bolt. Even when the mags are loaded to full capacity, there should still be enough room to *almost* load another round.

You can also try shaving a little bit of material off the tab beneath the mag catch on the magazine itself. I have to do this to get my P mags to drop free from 1 of my lowers
