Leaches means the water is extremely pure. They do not live in polluted waters. Might be a good thing to pack table salt along with that bug spray for future river baths. And for Sadie. If you or dog Get leach attached u put salt on and they immediately drop off without causing more skin damage. Might sting a bit but better then having a leach stuck on you. A stepic pencil like men use to stop shave bleeds also will stop the bleeding after you remove them as they have anticoagulant they put on you to keep blood flowing. Not a bad item to have on hand for falls and scrapes that keep bleeding. They are not entirely horrible. If you have a infection a leach can be your friend and suck the poison out of wounds. They now have begun again using medical leaches for gangrene and diabetic wounds that don't heal. Something to keep in mind. Good video. I've done camper beds and they do suck, especially at 70 years old.

Oh my leeches for sure! When I was a kid I would play in the brook and I'd come home with leeches stuck on my legs. They would leave marks where they were attached on my legs. My poor Mom couldn't get them off so I'd have to do it. You find such great campsites. I love the Adirondacks. So peaceful.

I went camping on the Eel river California once. We didn't see it, but there was green algae in it. By the time we ran outta there, my dog was vomiting vile, it was bad, he was fading right in front of me. Our vet was nextdoor to apartment, he was there still at 6. He saved my dogs life. But only cuz he was there still. And we ran so fast. He lived 18 years, with a couple close calls, 1 time from tennis ball parts...same vet, saved him again. Dinner looks good!!! ❤❤ Jeannie in Lakeport California

Wow. Such great ideas. Vinegar. Yeah!! Thanks for keeping it real. I need to know the truth before I try it. A client lived in his RV. He got the state of California to recognize it as a DOMOCILE. I cleaned everything, did his laundry, made the bed, did the dishes took out garbage. I learned how to get and get rid of water and replace it. It was 15.00 5 years ago...it's hard work. I did it once a week. IHSS caregivers can now work for folks in RV's, thanks Hank.

I have a tight east west bed in my trailer and use a 4 inch topper on top of the rv mattresss, benefit is you can put your pad and bottom sheet on the tooper instead, much easier to change out. Use a bed skirt to hide the exposed part of the mattress.Sleep just fine on it and I like as soft bed.

I use a quick zip bottom sheet because it goes over the whole mattress but I can just unzip the top part (that contacts my body) to launder it without struggling with the whole mattress. I'm also going to pick up a sleeping bag liner (cotton/silk sea to summit) this week to try out that is lightweight because my son is taking me on a trip to Ireland/England this fall (never been out of the country except for Canada, so excited) and it's a great idea for when staying in hotels, hostels, air bnbs, etc.

Hi Carolyn, As far as your sheet corners, there are little clamps with elastic that that you can buy to hold the bottom of the sheet corners together so the sheet can't slip off like that. That would help you a lot. As far as the sand, I'm guessing, it's from Sadie sleeping on the bed and running on and off the bed. Dog's paws get dirtier than they look sometimes.

I am glad you and Sadie got to take a break in the Adirondack area near Jessup. The area is one of my favorites in the Eastern US. Yum, good bean soup. Yah, those are leeches; almost as bad as black flies or mosquitoes. I hope you and Sadie are doing well and are enjoying your time relaxing in the sunshine. Be safe and be careful.🎉

I enjoyed your video, I have been to Speculator several times, I am from upstate NY near the Adirondack Mountains. I spent many summers up there visiting family. My Mom is from there & my Dad is from Ohio so we moved to Ohio when I was 3 or 4 years old.

I trained my dog to freeze when she hears or sees a car, also. Good girl, Sadie!! I cannot wait to travel...

Loved this, thank you for sharing! Not sure whether that was a bear or a dear but from other videos I have watched there is something else that lurks in the woods that makes that "ticking sound" that could be heard when you walked away!!

Hey Carolyn that's a leech in the river. They like areas where there are a lot of rocks in the water.
