    The haz mat refers to commercial loads, known as a “reportable quantity”. So, usually tunnels are restricted to fuel trucks, tankers filled with flammable materials. Your little propane tank is not what they are concerned about.

    I know you can't do 54-minute videos on a regular basis, but I just want you to know how much I enjoyed this one. I hated to see it end. I especially liked the simple cooking shots interspersed with nature scenes. Two more years for me, and I can be on the road as well. Thank you for your channel! 😊

    According to the Live Oak Society the oldest southern live oak is believed to be the Seven Sisters Oak located in Mandeville, Louisiana, with an estimated age of between 500-1000 years.

    Yes, please! More like this! I lovelovelove the sound of rain; thunder is a bonus. It's like a lullaby to me. And the peepers. Oh, how I miss the east coast! Your writing instructor gave you good advice, but whoever taught you video/photography was a genius. Thank you so much for bringing us along.

    Strange, I haven’t had a video of yours pop up in my feed for months. I’m glad this one did! It was fantastic! I don’t know how you slept with that roar of rain on the roof of your RV! If we had that much rain here in Southern California, that would be enough rain for a year, and it would flood! I’m looking forward to going back and looking at all the videos I missed! Looks like you and Sadie are having a great trip! Thanks!

    Ahhh, Louisiana. I enjoyed my time there. Very atmospheric, steeped in history with a haunting aura. The beautiful Spanish moss hanging from the trees, the rain, the hurricanes and hurricane parties, the taping of windows in preparation for hurricanes, and I met some very interesting and engaging people. Cajuns living across a swamp, making boudin sausage and their warm hospitality, but they don't accept just anyone into their very private homes, only accessible via a pirot (flat boat). People speaking English with a charming patois, a Louisiana accent. The older people speaking French, a friend with a very old upstairs apartment in the French Quarter, with a balcony made of beautiful wrought iron. Watching the "crews" go by with a bird's eye view from the apartment during Mardi Gras. The incredible jazz cafes, the incomparable Cajun cuisine, and the swamp. Visiting the old, preserved plantations that are now B&Bs. The Cafe Du Monde at 7:30 am, parking at the Farmer's Market so you'd be able to find a parking space, the Cafe Du Monde chicory coffee, the wonderful beneits (sp?), ie, donuts, the best I've ever had. The oyster po-boy sandwiches which became my favorite food. The beautiful Quarter, taking you back to the time when it was an important cultural and trading center of America. Interestingly, I really felt at home there. Ahhh, Beautiful Louisiana. I'll always love you and your unique culture and beautiful people. It truly is like being in a different country.

    I wasn't "weaving". I was being blown around by obvious gusts as was every high profile vehicle on the road that day. But I never 'weaved' out of my lane.

  • @helenbonanno4804

    @helenbonanno4804

    So sorry for my choice of words, but I never said you were crossing lanes !! Yes, I understand high winds and your type of vehicle, and I am sure the officer did, too. However, I don’t think he was trying to harass you, nor do I think he was meeting a quota. He was just doing his job, you know, protect and serve. He was damned if he did and would bed bed if he didn’t!!! Please explain to me how swerving (according to the officer) is so different as opposed to weaving,,,,,,,oh, that’s right, swerving is soooouch better then weaving, hhhmmmm!!!

    Loved this video. Best way to tour a swamp...watching you do it. I hate mosquitoes and other denizens of the swamp. I've lived in swamp areas and I'd rather face a grizzly than a palmetto cockroach. And to think I was born in Baton Rouge, mom had enough sense to move out of the swamp before I was out of diapers. I remember a trip when I was a teen and met a bunch of my swamp living, toothless, relatives, shudder, freaked me right the f#ck out. Glad you enjoyed your time crossing one off the bucket list. ☮️

    I agree with the other comments, you found a peaceful spot to stay with so much nature around you. Just glad you didn't get flooded out during the storm. I wanted to mention something else about your video and that is that I love how you move the camera slowly, letting us really enjoy the scenic beauty and not feeling like you are in a hurry to finish. Also I have a vertigo problem that can kick in just from someone moving the camera too quickly but I had no problem with yours. I love the Live Oak trees too. I first "met" them when I lived in beautiful Austin, TX. for a year and a half.

    This one brings back a lot of fond Louisiana memories. We bought our sailboat in Florida in 1999 and spent several months taking her back to Texas along the Intracoastal Waterway. We spent a long time in Louisiana, including anchoring overnight in several bayous and close to the Barataria Waterway (including an anchorage next to a cemetery!). An epic adventure. I've never seen so many kinds of commerical large boats, tugs, barges, locks, bridges, and seaplanes. So glad you enjoyed your adventures in the bayou areas! Louisiana waterways are definitely a bucket list item.

    Hey Carolyn and Sadie. I Just found your videos for the first time. I saw , Louisiana Bayou , in your heading and it immediately caught my attention. I’ve lived here in Louisiana for 67 years. Welcome to our state. I hope you get the chance to meet the people and eat our food before you leave our state. We are a friendly bunch and after a good meal and a couple of old stories, you are family. There’s one thing that is Very important that you know ….Around the Bayou where you spent last night the gators may be in the grass or under your RV. They are much faster moving on the ground than people think. Be aware of your surroundings and keep Sadie with you. Just go about your business and you’ll be fine. Gators don’t want to fool with you unless they feel threatened. Much love and Happy New Year to you and Sadie. 🌾🐊🌻

    This was so beautiful and peaceful. Also, a feast for the ears - loved the sound of the insects and the rain. The vegetation around there is absolutely fascinating! I think I prefer it without leaves so the gnarly, tangled branches were at their best. Those live oaks!!! Cheers from Oregon. 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲

    Carolyn, you amaze me. I’m from Louisiana and find the bayou a bit scary. I like your Fearless sweatshirt. So true. You continue to be an inspiration. ❤

    Camping in my backyard! Was delightful to see familiar sites seen often on video....gives a different perspective and appreciation! (Mosquitoes are a nuisance :)). We did end up getting an average of 6" during this particular weather frontal system, much needed, & very thankful!

    Those are Live Oaks. They are protected. The oldest one is in New Orleans. They call it the tree of Life. It's somewhere around 4 or 500 years old.

    That red is such a good color on you! I think I read there are alligators in the Bayou in Louisiana. Watch Sadie for sure. Giggle, within 2 minutes after I wrote that you talked about alligators!

    "I'm driving a billboard" 😅 Sadie's not barking.. she's telling you a lot of important stuff! LOL @49: The frogs 🐸 brought back memories of passing through the Carolinas. Good times. Btw.. My sense is .. with alligators you can't be too careful. Yes they can move VERY fast, and even climb chainlink fences 😮 plus they can stray FAR from water. Better safe than sorry Dear One. 🙏 🐕
