Sen 8 is a banger. I have my 5K PRs in that shoe even with the Vaporfly 2 in the rotation. The rods work well as I can load up torque at fast paces and push off with the light strike pro. May give the Adios 8 or Boston 12 a go for marathon effort tempos.

Snagged the Adios 8 for 50% off at my nearby outlet, and I’ve gotta say it’s generous fit and traditional, responsive ride make it the way to go for my 5K racing later this year! Even more so than the Takumi Sen 8!

Interesting comments on the adios 8 - I wanna try it now. I may go for it if I can get a pair on a steep discount. I sold the TS8 with over 400km in them. I replaced them with the TS9. I mentioned I prefer the new upper overlays and the new tongue. The ankle/heel collar updates are also slightly noticeable improvements. The adizero team is dialed in. ✌🏽💙👟

Takumi Sen is just about the only adidas shoe I still use..the upper is rubbish but the midsole is a good 5k shoe and the outsole durability is ok..I would much rather use the Rebel V2 or V3 for any serious running..there are a lot of much better light wt racing and training shoes out there other than nike and adidas and most of them are much more durable..

Have you tried the new ASICS hyperspeed? I heard that’s also a contender, but even though I have the sen9 I feel like I would prefer the Adios 8 for shorter distances. I don’t understand why it’s heavier than the sen9 though. I’d like to see them drop the weight a little

Hi Ed great video bit late to the party hear just after some your advice really im looking for a new half marathon shoe but want to stay with adidas my last ones was boston 11 I did like them felt fast but slightly clunky and knew they was on my feet all the time and and sort of made it less fun but 😂 now the upper has bust on both shoes and need new ones 😂 i done a half marathon test on my own in them got a 1.49 and want to beat this on an actual event I do get on with the new adizero sl maybe i get more out of them because of my weight and can compress the foam more than most lighter runners but i dont feel they are a good idea for a pb half marathon they feel a bit dead now I was looking at the new boston 12 and the adios 8 and also the takumi 8 but just unsure what to go for out them I am not a very light runner I'm around 90kg so worried I could bottom out the lower profile ones?? And dont want to buy an out right super shoe just yet i do like the looks of them all im slightly drawn to the boston 12s because the more stack but my 11s bust so im abit put off i think i could possibly run faster in the adios 8 if they not gonna bottom on me what's your thoughts on this any advice welcome 😁👍 cheers lee

Adidas Adizero Adios 8 is built as fast training shoe. So you should not compare it to Streakfly, SC PACER and takumi Sen which are built for short races. ROCKET X 2 is built as a marathon racing shoe. Well, that's just my opinion 🙂
