Companies want you to think that you need a 'specialist' shoe for every distance however in reality you can run all these distances in the same shoe. I believe that the Next% is still faster than these specialist shoes at their specialist distances.

Agreed. I just did a 5K and not once did I think “Man these 10 extra millimeters (0.4 inches) of foam are keeping me from running faster.” However, I did think afterwards “I wouldn’t mind buying a new pair of shoes” 😀

Recent research studies do bolster your comments. If you are efficient in the Next%, use it to race at all distances, not just what the company (or what some KZreadr) tells you. Efficiency is efficiency regardless of distance.

I got mine on sale. They're very fast! I also have the next % and I just feel like it's a nice cruiser shoe. I often get lazy in it and settle for the pace I'm running. The Takumi really pushes me to be on my forefoot and pick up the cadence. I also enjoy the better lockdown and classic racer feel. Also the durability of the Takumi comes nowhere near the next %. On the track, the Takumi wins. I know Kipchoge runs fast in the Vaporfly & Alphafly but a lot of East Africans are running very fast from 5k to the full marathon on the roads. Lastly, it takes time to break these shoes in. The Adios Pro 2 is unstable when running at slower speeds.. You also have to have good running form to not roll your ankle. Enjoyed the review!

Essex cousin! Love it 😂 Agree with versatility! For me I wouldn’t want to race further than the 5k distance. For track workouts say for k repeats it is feeling incredible. I too need to test it over that 5k race before I can give my final verdict. Great video as always buddy

see how companies can manipulate people? few years ago these stack height was considered a maximalist shoe that can be an ultra marathon racer. even marathon newbies were wearing kinvaras for full marathon

@@eoincasey5461 when hoka started, the stack height is about the same as these and was ridiculed for being so high. now some say they can't race more than 5k with them. i sometimes hear reviewers say they can't run marathon with some hoka models because there's not enough cushion.

It's a looker this time from Adidas I personally love the attitude of those thick stripes!

Just starting to purchase my rotation for 2022/2023 and due to me being a skinflint I am picking up the 2021/22 shoes as they are all bargains at the moment due to new releases. I picked these up last week. so far love them (true to size for me but thin socks are a necessity as you said), I get a slight rub in the left heel, but a bit of moleskin, and it's sorted (will soften up over time). They are back in the garage now, as I still have life in my current fast shoe.

Not for everyone but these are amazing for track workouts. Picked up a pair for 70 quid on ebay

Good video fordy. Not sure that I would pay for the shoe. Love the sketchers shoe and asiscs

Great review. Carbon plate on the heel is really a deal breaker, I prefer my fuelcell TC's or next%. Spot on with the pricing... Won't be shelling out that much mullah for this one. Have a nice one 🙂

Same as Tim I got them for £110.50 with 35% off. Tried to get the other colourway but the code doesn’t work on them now. Ordered them a while ago and they say I should get them 21st. I got them for 5/10K races as that’s my preferred distance. Looking forward to testing them on some races if we don’t get locked down soon. But I agree at £170, I wouldn’t have bought them, I’d rather save the money and look to buy a deal on the first vaporfly as they’re amazing at any distance.

Did it run too small or big? I decided to go true to size, I used a chart and im a size 9 in basically every Nike shoe and found that a Nike men 9 is an adidas size 8.5, but I don’t mind having a little extra room so went with a 9.

I don’t mind paying the $280 AUD. The Boston 10 is $260 AUD, the Adios Pro 2 is $360 and the Prime X $420. I think the TS8 is actually pretty good considering it’s a baby brother to the Adios Pro 2 and $80 cheaper. To put in perspective, the Hoka Clifton RRP is $259 and that is really nothing special. I think for what you are getting the TS8, at least in Australia is priced OK.

Chris, your comments about Adidas resonate with me. Outside of the Adios Pro 2's (which I think are FANTASTIC), I've struggled to get into Adidas shoes in the last couple years. I do appreciate their build quality and "looks," but for the price I feel there is almost always more than one better alternative.

You should try to get your hands on the Adios 6’s on Boxing Day (I’m sure they’ll be on sale). I recently picked up two pairs for $80 CAD each. At first I wasn’t thrilled but after about 40km they feel awesome and I find myself reaching for them more than anything else. One of the most versatile shoes I’ve ever owned.

I think the shoe is priced right personally. £170 and it's effectively a super shoe with slightly less foam than one that's targeted at a marathon. If you look at £210-240 for a Vaporfly. Take away 7mm of midsole and price it at £170 no-one is complaining are they? I guess where Adidas have messed up is pricing the Adios Pro 2 on the lower end spectrum of the super shoe market at £180, which can make it seem like £170 is a lot for a shoe with a limited range. But I still think it's ok myself. I'll be taking them from 5k up to half marathon because I like the turn over and the ground feel (and corner stability) of these, only really need additional protection up at that marathon range. Be interesting to see where Nike price the Streakfly cause if most peoples gripes are with the price of these Nike are gonna have to work wonders with the price of that shoe to compete with these imo. :)

Like you Fordy i struggle with the fit of Adidas. My foot is apparently assessed as a wide seven. Many reviewers say that the Endorphin speed is a narrow fit but it fits me perfectly fascinating. I've heard that the Takumi sens build quality is very poor. Have a happy Christmas Fordy.

Got the Adios Pro 2 on big discount… didn’t like the fit at first. Decided to change the laces and use really thin socks and took time to lace them up. Been enjoying them ever since. Agree on the price though. Will not buy these TS8’s if I don’t have a discount. Happy New Year!

Agree with u on the price only £10 cheaper than adios pro 2 is total piss take, but I want it, discount codes don’t work on it anymore, think I’ll regret it but gonna pay the £170 it’s Xmas after all

The price does seem steep. I got a pair with money off, otherwise I’d have gone for something else. They are very nice and everything, but come on, they aren’t worth that - the energy rods are just plastic and for what you get it’s a proper wedge of cash to ask (especially with no carbon plate). If Puma could just sort out their supply on the Deviate Elite!
