    Yep!! I am severely ADHD - Combined Type, I was misdiagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder in my early 20's due to my "Extreme Sensitivity"! I was also constantly in trouble for distracting others, etc. I am have impulse control issues as well ***Cough cough Amazon** ETA: Another super super helpful thing to help manage my adhd is to use Calendars, Alarms, Reminders and Notifications for everything from Switching the Laundry over before bed, to doctor appointments, to even Picking the Kids up from school!

    I've been diagnosed with ADHD 2yrs ago and knowing has helped me no end. As a child I was bullied relentlessly for being different which left me with mental health problems which I battle everyday(sorry to unload🙏). I have 4kids(18G,16G,9B,3B) My youngest is autistic and it's been hard for me to accept as I don't want him to have the experience I had as a child. I just wish I had the self control to sort my diet and exercise(or lack of 😁) out. You came across as sincere thoughtful and understanding of the "battles" many of us face and I can't thank you enough. Thank you for sharing All the very best to you and your family 👪

    my 11 year old daughter has adhd and I was diagnosed with adhd at the age of 40 last month. my goal is to learn as much as possible about adhd and myself so that i can better understand and help my daughter too. adhd brain is special, not just negative, but it has very beautiful sides. when I finally got the diagnosis, all the pieces of the puzzle fell into place.

    Loved this video, guys - thank you! My youngest boy is looking like he has ADHD, so lots of great advice. My brother, if assessed properly in modern times, would have been assessed with ADHD (they called him hyperactive, back in the day). The thing I’ve learnt since travelling this autism journey with my two youngest boys, is learning how much passes down through families. Different on the spectrum from person to person, because you are mixing x and Y chromosomes from two different family lines. Our paediatrician arranged our middle child to be genetically tested (a chromosomal micro array, from a blood test) at the age of 3, of which we then followed with our youngest child at the age of 3; and both our youngest boys have tested positive to specific genetic signifiers, which actually travel through families. When you track through family members - parents, cousins, aunts and uncles (etc), you find a pattern.

    great 'interview' about adhd, I have Autism, and the hyper attention "super power", is an ESSENTIAL part of the therapy, ie it helps us manage over stimulus,also as a distracting element to avoid triggering any sensitivities, esp. visual or auditory ones, that is to put our mind somewhere else and also if we can stick at something, it is a "cure" for any meltdowns and their affects, by giving us a "cool down" time, with something which doesn't tax our mind as much, and in pleasing this we find the "zen" we need to be able to cope throughout our day.

My mind is always going 1000mil/h, jumping from one topic to another, massive difficulty with focusing on things I'm not interested in, but an obsessive approach to things that I'm into, and definitely hyper-emotional-sensitivity!, etc etc. You guys should definitely do more vlogs as a family (if Dylan allows to be recorded) xx

Was told to worry about myself instead of everyone else around me, since 2nd grade!! My mind is hyper creative and I've ALWAYS been super sensitive to other peoples' strife. I thought I was stupid, lazy, and crazy. Now I view my ADD as a true Superpower and am so excited to get on with the next & better 1/2 of my life!! I'm one month sober from 30 years of self medicating with drugs and alcohol. Such a relief!! Best wishes to You and your family. xoxo

    I'm suspecting I've got ADHD. I've talked a lot with people with ADHD and who have ADHD, especially on top of autism, and they all pretty much agree I should seek a diagnosis. I've been tested for it before, but it came back saying I only had some attention issues, but at that same place my autism evaluation came back saying I was neurotypical, so I really don't trust them. I also know a lot of people that I've gone to school with who has ADHD. I'm really hoping I can get an evaluation asap.

  • @juiice

    @juiice

    There’s a lot of misunderstanding/literal interpretation surrounding Autism and ADHD - mostly by neurotypical people ironically. I am Autistic and have ADHD but haven’t been able to get a diagnosis for various reasons. Whilst I feel the same as you that getting an evaluation/assessment or diagnosis would be ideal I think its also worth just arming yourself with as much research as possible, find the neurodiverse and actually autistic communities on social media, particularly twitter and reddit. Since I’ve started viewing myself as having a different neurotype, using more positive language etc I feel like I have a better understanding of my strengths and challenges and feel more ‘in charge’ of my life. I’ve been waiting years to be taken seriously and for health professionals to understand my brain when I’m still figuring out how it works myself . Totally agree about refined sugar, refined carbs are the devil for my brain as well. Good luck on your journey of self-discovery!

    I already talk a lot, and I mean a lot, with autistic and generally neurodivergent people, and I tend to focus a lot on research and spend a lot of time with that, so I can try to understand myself and those around me better. I'm obviously not a professional, but I can recognize a lot of traits and such in myself and others do the same, so at this point it's quite obvious, lol. Thanks!

    I've not finished watching yet so it's likely you say this in the video but autism, ADHD and all the 'dys-ia' (dyslexia, dyspraxia, discalculia etc) are all linked... there's a high chance of comorbitity (having a diagnosis of two or more)... They often say you lose symptoms of ADHD in adulthood but I'm noticing a high number of adults with ADHD so it makes me wonder - is it that we are less able to get rid of the ADHD symptoms than we used to (unlikely) or have adults been overlooked/forgotten about in the past (similar to women with autism/ADHD)

    @@michelleamywatt5695 good question and lot of people get confuse.so once a child reach school age and of not diagnose with anything else in most cases it tirn to learning disability or learning need. Global development is where they not hit their milestones when under 5. Mine twins have ggd but my son has autism. My daughter however no confirm diagnose so she under hospital and still got that label but school refer to her as having mild learning need and so I doubt they will use term global development as usual it in early year's then name change. That my view and I been working in field of learning disabilites and special needs education for 20 odd years Usual the paediatric would try and find out why of the delays. We had many tests for my son but his sister more able and so she pass many test but now is tome to see how she is in education setting Hope that helps.

    After watching your videos I started realised I used to suffer from ADHD + Autism badly. My husband had put up with me and it was very hard time. However, I'm healed. Never consulted a doctor for these disorders. No medicines or anything special except my diet changed (I don't eat landed animals anymore, and I still eat fish and a bit seafood) and I prayed a lot mostly the Lord's Prayer repeatedly 10-50 times a day. It helps monitor and cleanse my thoughts. Daily repentance to God is very powerful. However, it took 6 years of praying from a very bad condition to a healthy condition. I see the transformation. My husband witnessed my transformation and he is grateful. I'm able to focus, dance, cook and make conversations normally. I became very sensitive to energies going in and out from my body and the energies I project. I know when I need more cleansing and prayers to clean up my head. The Lord's Prayer is very helpful. When you chant this prayer, you go closer and closer to the Divine Super Healing Power. After 50 times of the Lord's Prayer you can detect many unwanted thoughts are cast out from your body. They might want to stay to stick to you but you have to recognize all these thoughts are nothing but boo boo, you don't entertain them. Focus on God and they will eventually go away 1 after 1. Well, they're many. Probably hundreds to be cast out. After they're out, you can feel a new you. A peaceful and focused mind. And some aches from the body will go away with those thoughts as well, you will feel less tensed and more loosened in your joints.

My child specialist who only see him for 15 min told us that he doesnt has ADHD bcos my son sit in her office for full 15 min . Obviously he was attracted by all new toys there so he could sit 😬

    wint nayzar Lynn Hi Lynn I’m no doctor but there is also ADD that’s without the hyperactivity part. So if they like their surroundings they will have no problem sitting there for 15 mins The question i would ask the specialist is; how “present” was your child in that 15 min period...
