Adenoid hypertrophy is a very common concern among children. Adenoids are found near the nasopharynx. These are lymphoid tissues just like tonsils. Their main purpose is to protect children from different air borne infections. Sometimes, these adenoids tend to enlarge so much that it poses a greater problem for children. Due to this, the children tend to breathe from their mouth instead of their noses and there is a tendency for recurring ear infections and sleeplessness. Therefore the main symptoms of adenoid hypertrophy are sleep apnea, ear infection and fatigue. All of which can be addressed with the help of copulation assisted adenoidectomy. My daughter is 7 year's old. She has grade IV adenoid hypertrophy. She has below complaints Frequent fever, snoring, mouth breathing, cough, cold, pain in ear . We have consulted both paediatrician and ENT as well. Paediatrician is saying it will get cured with medicine whereas ENT has suggested surgery. We are really confused and tensed what to do. Please suggest.

Hi doc! My child is having cold and cough for last 1 and a half month (infact he is getting the same every month from last 1 year) From last one week, he was struggling a lot with cold. Blocked nose at night and breathing from mouth. So doc recommended x/ray for adenoids. He still has cold and cough. Value came below 25 % Grade 1. Can it be cured with just nasal sprays? Also, isn’t it that the adenoids will always come enlarged if you get an x-ray done while the child is still sick(having cold and cough)?

Hi sir My son is detected with adenoid hypertrophy. Prior to that he had fever continuously and was snoring . Now he us not snoring much but breathes from mouth in day time. But gets restless soon after physical activity.

Sir....mere twins(4.11) old ko adenoids Enlargement, mouth breathing, snoring, night time cough ki problem hai...pichle 2 saal se..7 months se night cough h.aaj ent ne 75 to 80 % blockage bataya hai or operate karne ko advise kiya hai ...pls aap suggest kare ki hume kya karna chahiye...🙏
