Adelaide boy's dying dream of being a police officer comes true | 7 News Australia

Adelaide has rallied behind a terminally ill Andrews Farm boy, bringing the eight-year-old’s dream of becoming a top cop to life.
Alongside Police Commissioner Grant Stevens, brave eight-year-old Sergeant Sammy embarked on his special day with a ride in the SA Police helicopter from his primary school to Adelaide Oval.
After meeting the police dog squad, a special police motorcade with blaring lights and sirens escorted the new officer to his first case - a trio of celebrity crooks on the loose.
Adelaide’s bustling Rundle Mall came to a standstill as the pint-sized officer hunted down Adelaide-born singing superstar Guy Sebastian, Crows ruckman Reilly O'Brien and South Aussie wicketkeeper Alex Carey.
After a special performance from Guy Sebastian, the police commissioner promoted Sam Scully to Senior Sergeant for his outstanding first day on the beat; a day his family will never forget.
