What a bad ass tank you have going on there. Setting up my first 6 foot African right now and trying to figure out what I’m going to stock. I have a feeling mine is going to look a lot like yours maybe not quite as nice but will try and get it there. That really deep blue Malawi eye biter is right there at the top of my list of ones to get. What a beaut.

Hi finscape! I saw your comment. I've just been super busy haven't had a chance to make a video. I read that your fish has Ich. You should definitely treat entire tank because it spreads like wild fire to your fish. Raise the temp so it shortens life cycle of parasite and use aqaurium salt with a combo of strong med that cures ich. Sorry your fish have gotten sick. Definitely treat ich first. Then treat the fin rot second if it's the same fish. Hope for your fishes speedy recovery.

@@crazyaboutafricancichlids1612 Thanks for your support man, it's always appreciated. I have isolated the very sick fish in a quarantine tank and am treating with methylene blue and melafix. As for the 135 gallon, I've added salt, turned the temp up and am trying out a natural treatment that won't stain the water (it's called Microbe-lift herbtana). I'm hoping things get better and I don't end up having to use heavier treatment. Thanks for all the tips man!

Compressiceps are definitely predators there bodys as you say are like a sharp edge almost flat like because of this they are known to attack from above swooping down on there prey . This is due to a advantage they have in other fish being able to see them. I have had two or three eyebiters over the years all males and out of alll of them i was able to only keep one the other two were extremely colored up and were gorgeous but were absolute killers. I still love these fish but haven't had the luck keeping them. I instead go to a similar looking fish the strigatus because it's been my experience that there temperament is a little less aggressive. But that is not a dead fast rule. I really love the one you have he's beautiful so i wish you luck brother!

I would feed once a day for now, as much as they can eat in 30-40 seconds. You dont want left overs at the bottom of the tank either. Boil some green peas, peel the skin off them and feed them those once in the morning for a few days and see if that helps with the bloat.
