Adding Decking and Stairs To Our OFF-GRID Home

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Today we are installing decking on the backside of the house as well as steps so we can make the back entrance safer and easier. This is a temporary install since we will be building the bedroom wing off the backside of the house once the main part is complete.

Your little girl is "all in." She was right there clapping for you when Josh said "Good Job!" And a hearty "Good Job" from me as well! Before too long, you will be done with the outside (for the time being) and working on completing the inside and moving in! Happy, happy, joy, joy!

You young folks are the greatest example for not only your peers but for all families today, whether they're living off-grid or on. The cohesiveness between you is phenomenal. Don't ever lose it as the beauty you have instilled on the inside of your personas is what makes you continually grow as a couple long after the exterior attraction fades with age. Great show from your hearts!

I just started watching your build and you guys are just bad azz! I'm 58 and it took me (with help) 3 years. If I had someone like either of you I would have been jumping up and down. Now you guys went all fancy and put in real stairs and stuff ;) , that always is a big milestone..from jumping on buckets or whatnot to get in, and that means it's close to time to move stuff and the Family in! also you're so right! Those display cards never show colors correctly..but it matched the rest of the colors mostly, and as Josh said it's temporary, so don't sweat those small details until later when you're doing final finishing.

just an idea. you could grab some cheap square stepping stones and make a landing at the bottom of the stairs. Enough space for a door mat and boot scrubber. looks like you might need it in the wet weather around the farm. keep more of the mud outside. lol, nice job guys. both those colors of stain looked good on camera, but you guys are there in real life. Put some concrete pavers under your stringers. Without them, every time you use the stairs it will dig more into the soil, especially when wet and destabilize the steps.

I'd also suggest Josh to find some flat slate stone on the property.. U might have to dig.. Dig dig dig.. n place e'm under each stair cutout... That way they r leveled and Stablizing the stair bases...later on when the house is done n the outter patio is being placed in the back.. U can put some of those dugout flat stones in ur field and do outdoor BBQs. Some side rails on the stairs. Now comes the indoors.. More difficult then outdoors.. Hang a hammock with netting on the trees.. For relaxing. Stay safe.. Happy 4th to the both of you, God bless.

Another great video Thanks, 2 things, Erin, you can buy a pack of 100 clear plastic Disposable gloves for painting, keep hands clean in case you need to attend to the kids, 2nd there is an App, usually on the paint manufacturers website that you take a pic of what you are about to paint, enter on to the site, and you can put youre colour choice onto the pic you entered, wont it be great to move into the house with all that space, then sell the RV to add money back into the property. Great job guys.
