I've heard that the older generations in the South used to paint their underside of their porch roofs a light blue to imitate(I think) the color of the sky, and it would deter bees and wasps from making nests up there! Don't know why it works but they swore by it! Just a thought.😊❤

LOVE this channel and this family! And how refreshing to see a young son help his dad! I don’t see this on a lot of channels. Of course it doesn’t mean they’re not helping when the cameras are off. But in this case, it’s nice to see Elijah being part of a job and helping dad! He’ll always be able to say, “I helped my dad build that when I was a kid!” 🥰

Awsome job on the patio roof design and installation.

The on ridge versus flat issue comes from there being two profiles for panel roofs called corrugated. The newer style (not new) like you're using, and an older style that is shaped like the middle layer of a shipping box. The older style has no flat areas so to avoid trapping water the screws go into the ridges. Plastic and fiberglass for greenhouses can be found in the older shape also.

Great to see another man putting his boy to work! I had my boy do an asphalt shingle roof on the treehouse when I built it 30 years ago. He was 7 or 8 and he still takes pride in that roof today!

Having the skills to design and install this roof saves a lot of money and you know it was done correctly. Very nice job all.
