Adding a "Pony" Section of Suction Hose to Increase Pump Capacity
This 1:02-minute video was shot on October 20, 2013, at our Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar in Ashville, NY. The video shows increasing a pumper's capacity by adding a length of 3-inch suction hose (w/2-1/2-inch fittings.) The suction was added after the pumper was already drafting and the video shows priming the suction without activating the pump's primer system. With a 750, 1000, or 1250 gpm pump - this added 3-inch suction could mean the difference between having enough water to run multiple jet siphons or not. The video is narrated by Mark Davis from GBW Associates, LLC.

We nosed into the river off the boat ramp and did a double intake off each side of the pump two hard suctions each side , now that’s pumping water! Also Take this guys class !
Interesting to know you can add that after the initial set up.
Nice video
The more water you get to the pump the more it can move! Try larger dia. Suction On steamer port 4.5- 6 Test the difference😱
