Adam Savage's Hellboy Mecha-Glove Replica
Ғылым және технология
One of Adam Savage's favorite movie props is Rasputin's mecha-hand from Hellboy. It's an elaborately machined prop that's only in the movie for a few minutes, and Adam has spent over four years painstakingly replicating it. Now that it's finally done, Adam walks us through all the individual components and how he fabricated each.

Love Hellboy? Watch Adam make Hellboy's sword (from the comics): kzread.info/dash/bejne/mZd4pbxrhNC6k84.html
Adam lives the life man.
As a long time model builder myself, words elude me on just how amazing this is. This would be thee crown jewel in any builders or prop collectors collection!

This is my favourite object Adam has built that I've seen. I'm a huge Hellboy fan so this glove was the coolest thing in a whole movie of cool things. The movie original was such an incredible piece, the original artwork by Mignola is not overly detailed but they captured the essence of the piece and made something incredible. Adam's is just as impressive and I can't wait to see him weather and age it.
rewatched hellboy and the movie has so many great props in it.
Makers of the Enigma. Genius!
This is disturbingly amazing, I mean I'm fully aware of how talented Adam Savage is. But the craftsmanship and detail here is nothing less than awe inspiring.

From scratch no less. There is something so incredible about making something from raw materials.
That is absolutely gorgeous. It is so nice to see the project coming together so well.
Fast forward 200 years and someone finds this Mecha-Glove in grandmas attic. Looking at it completely out of context. It is done so well there is no reason for them to believe that it is not a real demon summoner. I would love to see the look on their face(es) Well Done Adam! Love it!

That was a line from the movie Contact, based on the novel by Carl Sagan of the same name. I'd highly suggest watching it, it's a fantastic movie.
I died laughing when he said glue after saying all the complex things that went into it.
I love adam savage so much and the time and effort he's put into this build is inspiring!
A Beautiful piece of work, just stunning.
Always excited when there's an episode with Adam and his toys/builds.
I have never seen anyone geek out as much as this. Well deserved though. Good build!
What a great piece from a series of films filled with great practical effects and props!
Bravo, Adam! Magnificent piece of prop art. I really enjoy all your builds.
This is awesome! My uncle worked on many films as a model builder and I only wish I could get into that line of work! Great to see you stuff Adam!
dedication and passion to the fullest
I am currently 6 months into writing, illustrating and producing a graphic novel of epic proportions. It will take me the best part of the next 18 months to finish. Watching this while I work away at 12am makes me so good about putting everything I can into this project. These videos have not only entertained me huge amount while I draw away but fill me with excitement and encouragement for the day I finally finish!

Amazing job Adam! Can't wait to see what you will make next.
Amazing work Adam.
it's truly a thing of beauty Adam.
Brilliant work Adam,
This is an absolute masterpiece, When Adam put it on it just looked 10 times cooler. Fantastic work man.
So awesome. Fantastic job Adam!
I'm such a Geek... I get vacuumed into these videos every time.... so cool I didn't even know I would like this prop until I was at the Guillermo Del Toro exhibit in LA. They had it there on a shelf and I fell in love with it.. .It's amazing... made me sad that they had it hidden in the back of the exhibit, but at the same time glad, because you had time to look at it in detail.
thats a beautiful bit of work
Another great video and build guys!
so awesome...and the pride in Adam's face.......
Oh wow! I'm totally blown away.
Completely amazing! Gorgeous!

Really nice build Adam.
I love Hellboy and Mignola's stuff and that hand is incredibly awesome!
This is so unbelievably amazing! Can't wait to see a video with the fully functioning servos and sound. Great work!
Just see this vid 4 years after it was made and it’s spectacular Adam.👍👍👍
awesome, and it looks even better when you're actually wearing it.

Yea I thought it looked slightly wonky on the stand but on the arm it looked incredible. I imagine if it were placed on a life size hand model in a realistic position it would look great.

Every single time Adam turned or moved the glove I flinched expecting it to break or get knocked off the desk xD I couldn't handle this
Looks awesome!
It looks amazing!!
This is fantastic.
adam's enthusiasm is infectious. he should have his own prop show.
I fell down the Tested rabbit hole in 2020. Wonderland is nice this time of year.
One of my favorite builds! Kudos!
You finally did it! I've been waiting! :D
Aspire to be as happy and hard at work as Adam. His book is revelatory.
Amazing ,thats better than the original.
cant wait to see the finale video for this project

Way too cool Adam!
First I'd like to say I am a major fan of yours ever since the early days of Mythbusters. I have gone and watched alot of your builds. I just re-watched the movie Future Force and the glove in it is magnificent. Anyways i believe no one else has done this and you would be the perfect person.
very nice. keep up the good work!
Great job Adam! It looks great :)
Oh it's still one on my favourites... The company I worked for at the time made the gun...it was lots of fun discovering that.
We need an A&E show with this stuff
Knerding out over knurling. Love it.
good job adam !
Adam you are the Man! I wish I had a baby finger worth of your patience and talent. Thanks for sharing :-)
You are AWESOME man!!!!
Wow, just wow!
Hellboy is a great source for nerdy- licious baubles like this, I salute you sir 👌
wauw now THIS is a prop to have!
bah! you guys got me! I said "i ad something to do but found myself watching this entire video, awesome stuff!!
It’s a work of art!!!
Adam, I know the chances of you seeing this is very slim, but I've been a fan of Tested for about a year now. But I have been a fan of MythBusters for most of my life, and I think it would be simply amazing if you and Jamie would get together to do a one day build. something special to commemorate all of the time you guys spent on the show.
Amazing!
It's amazing!
I swear, Adam showed that even in the hard project, he still kept on trying.
Nice stuff
This is beyond awesome! But one question. Why is there Hellboy on the dial instead of Anung Un Rama? Hellboy was the nickname the BPRD staff gave him.
DAMNIT! I put on Hellboy to see this thing in action. The moving panel you printed is on screen for less than a full second.
Looks awesome. I love your cosplays adam, i hope my kid gets inspired by these videos and can make something this cool for our Yukomicon ( comicon in the yukon). Keep up the great work.
i can just imagine that all of adams toys as a kid were taken apart and reconstructed to make them better..gotta love his mind
I wonder how much this would be valued at? I know Adam would never sell it but you've gotta wonder. Unbelievable work!
I came here while listening to "Every Tool's A Hammer" on Audible. Such an excellent book!
Oh man! I remember this original video.
That is beautiful. You Adam, are a hardcore Hellboy fan. And I mean that in the best possible way. :D
Moreso than his skill (ok, not moreso, but let's say... equally) I envydmire Adam's happiness in this vids. Props make this man unspeakably joyous.
*Just pure awesomeness. But shouldn't the Shining labyrinth be classified as his most complex prop project? Albeit lots of fun and accolades for him, it was in fact an insane amount of detailed effort to construct. Ja oder Nein, Adam?*
that is beautiful.
He actually put it on! Hell yeah~!
So cool.
Sooo cool!
Thats bad ass love it
I like that he knew what to call the Ogdru Jahad, because I do not believed they were ever called by name in the film. I could be mistaken though, but it's cool that Adam knows them.
amazing
Adam has everything
