Totally possible.

The fact the auction house/ prop house have given permission to the team for close ups be taken of the pages is a nice thing. People can freeze frame video and make there own.

I was literally just thinking that I hope whoever gets it makes some of the imagery available online for us to remake! It doesn't really lessen the value of the props themselves and it lets poor blokes like me make their favorites!

I love that there's a warehouse behind him, Adam is _literally_ in The Archives.

Many years ago I used to have a website with all of my research and resources publicly available to make homemade Indiana Jones props. I spent years researching the Grail Diary, drawing and designing stuff like screen accurate fonts, with what we have seen here, I certainly could go back to work and make a major update to my latest version, yay!

I have watched all of Adams Grail Diaries videos. This video has inspired me to begin my own journey into a replica built with my Father and Grandfather. From what you have described, even if your website no longer exists, a link allowing me to attempt to find archives would be such an invaluable resource. I would greatly appreciate it if you could point me in the direction of what you've learned or perhaps some of the best places you used and maybe some that didn't exist for you to learn about the props. My gratitude is immense.

@@eladsinger9215 The website has been offline ever since I got a Cease and Desist, still have the whole site files with detailed step-by-step instructions on how to make the diary, which is a real shame I can't share it anymore.

Adam has probably never wished he was still making "TV Money" more than while filming this video.

So cool they filmed it all on location at the warehouse from the end of Raiders ...

That’s easily my favorite Indiana Jones movie. I’m a professional scholar and totally identify. So many cool jokes! And the Grail Diary is at the heart of it all. Really a thrill to see these pages in detail.

It wasn't Indiana's diary. It was Henry's diary. "I wrote it down so I wouldn't have to remember."

@@elevown makes sense, but still seems odd. You could say “the star wars lightsaber”, but it’s usually connected to the specific person.

So not a one day build idea but an Adam project idea where he completely remakes the grail diary using printing techniques, leather working, book binding, and weathering!

Your video will now be a primary reference for people making their own diary. There's good HD frames for most if not all of them. Grab a copy of this video before it gets taken down! Seriously, I can imagine LOT of fans running to their computer and grabbing a fountain pen to make new master pages.

The background being a touch reminiscent of the end of the first film... the final resting place of the ark of the covenant... Is just fantastic.

To see Adam geek out like that is just heart-warming. I would have done the same thing.

The grail diary? How WONDERFUL! That would be such an amazing thing to own!!!

One prop that I have always thought would be fun to recreate is a dynamite pack from Where Eagles Dare. Complete with the spring loaded draw line and clip, switch, timer etc.

1:10 For those interested, the book Adam refers to is titled From Star Wars to Indiana Jones: The Best of the Lucasfilm Archives by Mark Cotta Vaz and Shinji Hata.

They look like they’re in the archive supervised by “Top Men”… Top… Men.

I imagine they’ll likely break them up into individual sheets.

I hope Adam takes a ton of reference photos and shares them with the community members who have replica diaries, I hope he’s allowed to do this!

Man that is cool. A big thing with the diary over a regular prop is it expands the lore. And if there are 30-40 original pages, wow!

Awesome to see these. I hand made my own grail diary and gave it to one of my grand daughters. Seeing this makes me get the urge to make another one.

I also love the grail diary - it's an incredibly made prop. and the Latin in there - it's correct. phrases like 'verbum Dei' indeed means Word of God, 'semita Dei' - path of God, or 'poculum lignarii' -cup of the carpenter. Latin on the grail table was also correct! Really great stuff. Sometimes in the movies the Latin is either wrong, or they're using a manuscript with completely different meaning - here they really did their homework.

Grail diary was so well made, that they even brought a similar prop in Indy 4 - Oxley's letter, which had a very similar feel to it but not even close build-up or meaning.

oh and there was of course one more page in the movie - drawing of the painting of a knight walking through thin air, while others fell EDIT: 7:14 - that's the one :D . To me that image brings to mind the picture of spiritual path to God by St John of the Cross (you can google his name and add 'nada nada nada' - 'nothing' - the drawing shows a precipitous path of real humble prayer.)

I like seeing Adam so excited he can'r get the words out fast enough!

The fact that Prop Store basically just ensured Adam place to work in the Archive whenever he wants it is pretty heartwarming. A short series/collaboration on prop restoration seems like a world class idea. Perhaps as a lead up to a auction or other special event involving the featured props? "Prop Re-Store:Savage Edition", or, you know, something better from someone who can title things...😬

the real question is how much Adam is going to end up paying for these when the auction is over.

Adam will definitely have to make another grail diary using a copy of all the photos of the original hero version.

Grail Diary has always been a top build that I wanted to see but knew we would never get because Adam had already done so much with it, with these new pages see a fresh build of the Grail Diary would be incredible, I know a lot of others have already mentioned it but I hope it happens!

One of the pages that Adam hadn't seen before, the map specifically, is repeated several times in my version of the grail diary. I purchased my grail diary from a seller on the Club Obi Wan message board at least twelve years ago. It is far from screen accurate as they did a hybrid of story/ screen accurate prop.

Love to see Adam geek out. And to have Indy memorabilia be this historical is amazing.... excuse me while I get my cat burglar tools.

Same. Ever since that film (and Ready Player One referencing that as a comparison to the MC's own written record of his Easter Egg Hunt), I became obsessed in creating the "perfect" Grail Diary. For two years, I spent countless paper reams and leather bound diaries (A6 ring binders, faux leather covers) reconfiguring and rearranging signatures for two years until just a few weeks ago I made one. It bears no resemblance to its original iteration (which in of itself was based on the Grail Diary) but it is still leather bound and sewn. It bore the name "The Last Journal" because my mother is rather displeased I spent much of my time making this...

The retention logs on this video are going to be fun with all the pausing.

The roof reminds me of the last scene from "Raiders".

I have a really good story version of the Grail Diary diary and I noticed that I have the page shown on the right @2:56 - which has the exact same text (laid out differently) as the page that Adam says he hasn't seen before with the knight on it @4:24. The rocks page and the knight page. I wonder if the knight page wasn't used or they just wrote the same text on different laid out pages to make up some numbers. The two pages on left in both samples are the same text as well.

Just visit Club Obi Wan (IndyGear's forum)... ALL of these pages have been photographed and discussed over there at length.

I would love if they sold a replica copy.

I hope they let Adam take pictures for his next replica.

I know he probably did, but I hope Adam had the time to photo/ copy the pages and reference materials.

It's actually Henry Jones Snr's Grail Diary, Indy just used it, not to his father's liking when he storms a Nazi held castle. Henry Snr: I should have mailed it to the Marx Brothers. I'd really like a Grail Diary replica, but I wouldn't like one with repeating pages. The Grail could be the reason why Henry Snr studies medieval and became an Doctor of Medieval History, it could also be the reason why he visits certain countries in Young Indiana Jones while on his tour. He did visit France in that show, so he could have visited the library (former Church), I think the diary is old even when he said "He who illuminated this, illuminate me."
