Great stuff. I got one of the cheaper ones and am looking to weather it similar to yours. Great advice on the shoe polish, coffee, etc. And BRAVO for making a cheap prop into a really great piece for a pittance. I added some real things to mine. I found the actual real stamps for the cover/brown paper and will be working on that. Also, I got real Reich Marks that match the prop ones. They were only $2 bucks each. So I have real currency in the book and real stamps from the era (exactly the ones on the wrapping). Thanks for all the inspirations.

amazing tutorial. thank you! i ordered one from AliExpress a while back with a similar intention but the one I got was absolute garbage compared to yours. do you recall the seller or have the link to the specific listing that yours came from? they all seem to use the same images but they are clearly not all the same product. I'm hoping my second $18 will pan out better than the first. 🤣

Just got mine. Great video. Im gonna do this! Its for a gift so thank you. I also noticed hitlers autograph is missing. I googled which page its on and autographed it (with pencil like the film). The grail rubbing i ordered from a company in Germany because they use real parchment paper.btw, whats with the camel cig box? I dont remember it in the film but was thinking to just go buy a real pack.

So, black shoe polished brushed onto a light brown journal gives it a dark-brown, streaked appearance? Was it difficult to make your book?

The diary looks great! I have a few questions about your process. For weathering, you just dipped book into straight black coffee? For about how long did you dip it. Also did you use the same coffee to paint the pages?

Great video...my only concern is that Ramsey Props, you who recommended for the high-end handmade diary, has gone out of business as of this writing and has left a lot of orders unfulfilled and not refunded. I cannot recommend them at this time.

Mark Ramsey is a scam artist at this point. I ordered a diary from him in May and never got it. Etsy instantly refunded me my money. When I’d contact him, he’d say it’ll be shipped out in a few days and then nothing. Very frustrating as I’ve wanted a good grail diary since I was 5 when the movie came out.
